Spring Daffodil Tag

Happy Spring!

Today we have a super cute tag to share with you.

 This tag features

Hop Into Spring

Spring Garden Line Stencil

Bookmark II Die

To start this tag we had to create the background.

I am using only the daffodil line on the Spring Garden Line Stencil for this tag.

My color choices are Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide.

I was not going for anything concrete just for some color for the background.

(ignore my dirty stencil)

When using a multiple line stencil, you always want to start at the top of your paper

and work down so that you do not ink over your work.

I inked up my stencil line by line, and blended color as I went.

After finishing all my lines, I placed my paper aside for the ink to dry a bit before dye cutting.

To cut out the tag I used Bookmark II Die

To shorten the tag I die- cut the background out

using the flat edge of the tag and die-cut upwards.

About 4 ½ inches

The image I am using comes from Hop Into Spring

The Bunny holding a daffodil is just too cute! What a match!

I stamped, colored and die- cut out my image.

To assemble my tag I started by stamping my sentiment directly on the tag

in the lower right portion of the tag.

I placed my image on the tag above the sentiment with foam tape.

For a final addition, I added a bow and a bit of hanging string at the top.

Newton's Nook April Release - Day 2

It is day TWO of our MINI Release!

Filigree Oval Frame Die

Using this die , I came up with this card.

To start this card I die cut the Filigree Oval Frame Die

three times from light pink cardstock.

I glued all three pieces together and put a stamping block on top to let the glue setup.

Next, I turned my attention to my stamp of choice TULIPS.

I decided on blue tulips to stand out against this pink frame.

I stamped, colored, and die-cut out my tulips.

My frame was now all glued together, time to add some color.

My colors of choice are Picked Raspberry and Victorian Velvet Distressed Oxide.

I went around the edges of the frame with the colors until I liked what I saw.

I dried the ink with my heat gun and then added splatters on top using the same colors.

A final splatter of white paint will give the frame some texture.

While I wait for my paint to dry, I die cut the word “hello” out of gray cardstock

This die is included with the Filigree Oval Frame Die.

I die cut this word twice out of gray cardstock and glued the pieces together.

Assembling the card is easy!

I glued my Filigree Oval Frame Die to a 4x5 white card base.

Then I added the TULIPS to the center of the oval.

Finaly, I glued the “hello” across the base of the tulips.

To finish this card I added sparkle pen to the tulips and a couple of white gems for accents.

Hope you enjoy my take on these fun new products!

Newton's Nook April Release - Day 1

Day ONE of the April Release

Check out this cool new die!

This NEW die is so inspirational I had to go all in!

The idea for this card is SPRING!

I grabbed two of my favorite Newton’s Nook spring products.

Hop Into Spring

Pastel Basics 6 X 6 PaperPad

I chose my three colors of the paper pad and then die cut each color out using

the NEW Lattice Die.

Once everything was peeled up onto press and seal,

I used Lattice Die one more time to die cut out my frame out of white card stock.

With everything die-cut out it is now time to assemble.

It is important to remember not to overthink the process,

this is crafting and we are supposed to have fun!

I started by gluing my white card stock frame onto a separate piece of cardstock.

Then I started individually piecing in my colored background into the lattice cutouts.

After glueing all my pieces in, I put a stamping block on my background so that the glue can set up.

Next, I stamped colored and die-cut out my piece from Hop Into Spring

I also use the Circle Frames Die Set to die cut a background 4 my image.

I also made a simple handmade banner for my sentiment.

To assemble my card I trimmed the edges of the Lattice Die card front.

This is adhered to a card base made with light yellow card stock.

Next, I attached my scallops circle to the front of my card.

I glued my banner behind my image and attached the image to the front of the card.

I completed this card with some matching gems.

This completes my take on the Lattice Die.

This and all of the other fun new products will be available.

Quick and Easy Spring Card.

Hello and Welcome!

As crafters we always need a last-minute card that we can quickly produce.

This is where paper pads come in handy!

I just love paper pads!

When I get a new paper pad, I ask myself “what can this paper do?”.

In this case, the paper makes an excellent spring background.

This particular paper comes from the Spring Blooms 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

I die cut this piece of tulip paper using the Hexagon Frame Die Set

This die cut piece becomes my card front.

I also created a card base using the same die set.

Now that my shaped card is complete, I selected my image

from Newton’s Easter Basket Stamp Set.

The image that I am using from the stamp set is on the smaller size,

so this will fit on the front of my shaped card with out looking out of sorts.

I also create a tiny banner for my sentiment.

How cute the “peep  peep” is!

I added the banner and the image to the card first.

Then I added all of my chicks on next.

I popped some of the chicks up with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

For a finishing touch, I added Stickles to the front of the egg.

Hope you enjoyed my take on this quick and easy card.
