Sweetheart

Halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge.
Check out the sketch challenge we have going on right now!

For my card, I turned the sketch sideways.

Sweetheart a card by Diane Morales - Sweetheart Tails Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

I stared with the base for this card, which is the “Frame and Flags” die set.
I folded the card stock over and die cut out the image leaving the folded edge uncut.
Sweetheart Tails” is the perfect stamp set for this challenge
Using elements from the stamp set, I formulated a plan to complete the sketch.
The tiny xoxo I decided as a background texture for my heart.
The strip of hearts became the bottom element in the sketch.
The cute raccoon and the sentiment would be the focus of the card.
Now, to decide how it would all come together.
Originally, the plan was to color the raccoon to look like “Rocket Raccoon”
but... I decided that was just too much going on.
Less is more.
I chose to just stay with the gray tones on the raccoon,
this seem to work better for the card.
The rest all came together nicely.
Add a pop of color with the blue flag in the background.
And this card was done!
Now it is your turn.

Tiki Love IPC 64

Hello everyone and welcome to the start of a new Inky Paws Challenge.
We have an AWESOME sketch to challenge your Inky Paws with.

For my card, I chose to break out
one of my all-time favorite stamp set.
Yes, they're back!
 It's Tiki Time!

Tiki Love a card by Diane Morales - Tiki Time Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

I love to take stamps out of their “comfort zone”.
Usually this would kind of be used as a summertime stamp but,
who doesn't like a little Tiki Valentine Love.
I love these Tiki’s and if I could, I would probably put them on every single card.
When I first saw the challenge, this card was the first card idea that popped into my head.
I know what you're thinking, what kind of person comes up with Tiki’s and heart.
This girl and her crazy brain!
Sometimes even I am surprised by what
ideas for cards come out of my head!
The hardest part of this card was figuring out what colors to use
and how to use them. When that was all done, everything fell into place,
including the cool hibiscus flowers and the sentiment!
In the background you can see a hint of the Tropical Leaf Stencil.
The printed paper is from Authentique.
The heart die is Sizzix from my stash.

This card came out super cool, and I hope it inspires you
to be creative with the sketch and come up with your own masterpiece!
Use the link on the challenge picture above.

Thanks so much for stopping by hope you enjoyed my card
and I'll see you at the halfway point.

Bunny Love IPC 63

We are halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge.
What a great challenge we have going on right now.

When I think of PINK I think of the “Bunny Hop” stamp set.
It’s just SO CUTE!

Bunny Love a card by Diane Morales | Bunny Hop Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs.

I did a bit reverse engineering for this card by picking out some paper from my stash first.
Next, I stamped and colored the image to match the pattern paper.
Then, I grab some dies from my collection
(Sizziz Oval Dies) and started die cut out several shapes.
I played around with layering the paper till I came up with something I liked.
After, I put all the pieces together. I added some glossy accents to the plants and flowers.
To make the bunny tail "pop" a little, I added white paint.
The card is kind of simple, but sometimes simple is good.
This is the kind of card that you can create
several cards at once won’t cost you a lot of time.
AND
Now it is your turn!

Naughty or Nice IPC 61

Hello Everyone!
We are halfway through the current Inky Paw’s Challenge
For the current challenge we have an awesome sketch challenge going on.

For my card I chose to tweak the challenge sketch just slightly and turn it on its side.

Naughty or Nice? a card by Diane Morales | Santa Newton Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs.

The challenge for most card makers is to come up with something new and different.
I have my own personal challenge, which is to use more printed paper on my projects.
For this card, I started with some gray plaid printed paper from my stash.
I love the non-traditional color of the paper and chose to create the card around this paper.
I die cut the paper out with the inside layer of the NEW Frames and Flags die set.
I’m in love with the  Santa Paws Newton Stamp set
I would use this set on every project if I could.
Keeping with non-traditional colors, our cute Newton,
and band of merry mice elves are sporting Green Santa suits.
I added in some elements from the stamp set and a sentiment banner.
I did not want this to be technical card at all. I just wanted a fun layered card!

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope this encourages you to take some time and get your paws inky.
Link to the challenge in the challenge picture above.
Have an amazing rest of the year.
All the best
Diane

Bonjour! IPC 63

Hello everyone!
New Year and a New Inky Paws Challenge!
What a great challenge to start the New Year!

Have you ever come up with an idea for a card and it's like lightning!
You know exactly what you are going to do.

I stared creating this card by using “Paw Prints “stencil, and Spun Sugar Distress Ink.
I stenciled the paw prints directly onto white card stock to create the background of the card.
Next using the “Newton’s loves Paris” stamps set, I stamped out the images I wanted to use.
For this card, I knew that I wanted to color in the Newton kitty Gray,
The rest of the card, I wanted to keep it pink and black.
Once everything was colored in, I die-cut the pieces out
and applied them over the paw prints.
When everything was placed on the card, the card looked a little bit plain.
That's when I came up with the idea for a little gold accents.
Just a little accent of gold bling in strategic spots and it made all the colors pop!

To finish, I grabbed some stripped paper from my stash,
and assembled the card on pink card stock base.
Believe it or not, the whole card took about 30 minutes.
I usually don't toot my own horn but...
LOVE the way this card came out this card it is so Purrfect!

Now it is your turn. Take some time to get YOUR PAWS INKY.
Use the link in the challenge picture to show us what you create.

And
Happy New Year!
