Baby Shower IPC 66

Halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge.
It's all about the BABY!

This time around I decided to tag it up!

Baby Shower a tag by Diane Morales - Spring Showers Stamp Set - Newton Nook Designs

I started out the happy chick from the “Hello Spring” Stamp Set.

I stamp the chick onto white card stock. Masked that off the image.

Then stamped the duck and umbrella from the
“Spring Shower” Stamp Set over the chick.

I also stamped my raindrops in the background.
Once all that was done, I reached for Distress Inks
and coloring in my image.

I wanted to keep the colors neutral, neither girl nor boy,
so, I decided to go with teal Shades and purple.
Once all the coloring was dry, and glossy accents were applied,
I die cut out my image in tag shape.
I went to my stash and grab some cute striped teal background paper.
Next, I Created a bow using purple and white Baker's twine.
Attached everything together.
 Then this tag was finished.
Now it is your turn to get your PAWS INKY!

Buggs and Kisses SSSW

Today I have a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Make my own background, no problem!

a card by Diane Morales

I pulled out my Lawn Fawn stamps and started going through them.
This is usually what I do when I need some inspiration.
I Came Upon the “Bugs and Kisses Stamp Set" and
the lineup of the bugs popped a card idea right into my head.

Because I'm one of “those” people who only likes random patterns.
I started with the center of the card and stamp my bugs  below and on the side.
I'm kind of a rebel, I stamp everything freehand.
For this card, I should have used a ruler and measure everything out.

This is a lot harder than it looked.
I had to stamp my pattern three times before I got it right!

Next, I chose some colors for my bugs,
the brighter the better, and got all the bugs colored in.
I stamped my sentiment on a piece of scrap paper and got that ready.
Finally, I placed my bugs background onto cardstock, added my sentiment layer
and decided to add it in the heart. Just for flair.

Challenge has been met.

Hope you enjoyed my card and thanks for stopping by

Wild About You IPC 66

Hello Everybody!

Welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
For this challenge it's all about the BABY!

I got to admit when I first saw this challenge it threw me for a loop.
My kids are all grown up and out of the house.
I haven't been in the baby scene for quite some time.
I was thinking to myself about what this card was going to be about.
Should I make a card for a baby shower or just
a tiny card and a big mommy card to go with it.
In the end I went for something different.

Wild About You a card by Diane Morales - Wild Child Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

The base of this card comes from a design that I created when
I worked for a scrapbooking store a while ago.

You start with a 5 by 5 piece of paper.
Fold it in half into a triangle shape.

Next you want to check their proportions
of the die using to the size of the paper.

In this case one side of the paper is quite larger than the other.
Trim that side of the paper down so that the proportion
of the paper goes well with the proportion of the die cut.

When all that was done, I die cut out
my background pieces and assembled everything.

Next, I stamped out the giraffes
from the “Wild Child” Stamp Set and colored them in.

I stamped my sentiment on my assembled die cuts
Then Fussy cut out my giraffes and added those on.
Once everything was put together, the card looked kind of plain.

I’ve I reached for my “Toucan Party” Stamp Set and chose one of leaves.
Stamped and die cut the leaves out and placed the leaves in the background.

And... I was all done.

Now it is your turn!
Use the link in the challenge picture to show us how
you get your PAWS INKY.

Thanks for stopping by and see you at the halfway point.

Thanks For Owl You Do.

We are halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge
over at Newton's Nook Designs.
Check out the amazing challenge colors we have below.

For my card, I mixed the challenge colors up!
Thanks For All You Do a card by Diane Morales | What a Hoot Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

I started with the background for the card.
Twisted Citron Distress Ink that is colored smashed onto white cardstock.
After the base dried, I layered a die cut circle scrap.

On top of that I layered the “Tumbling Heart Stencil”.

It's important to note that blue tape works great here and that all the layers
need to be taped down so that they don't move.
The next thing I did was mix Ranger Texture Paste and Metallic White Pear acrylic paint.
The acrylic paint is the kind that you find at Michaels in the little squeezy tubes.
The ratio on the mix is approximately 2/3 to 1/3 and you just mix the two together.
This was all an experiment and I was not sure if it was going to work
or even dry, but I went ahead with the idea anyways.
I spackled the mixture on 2 the layers I created and waited a couple of minutes.
I pulled the stencils carefully and let everything dry.
Warning! This experiment did take some time for this to dry, so plan accordingly.
While everything was drying,
I die cut out my owls from the “What a Hoot Stamp Set”
I decided to use the brown and pink color from the challenge on the owls.
I’m glad I did because it came out so cute!
I also colored, and die cut my tree limb and leaves.
When everything was dry on the background,
I assembled all my die cut pieces on top.
Added my sentiment, placed everything on a card base, and the card was done!
I LOVE the way this card turned out
and I encourage you if you have some time to mix things up a bit and see what you can create.
I especially love the way the shiny Hearts came out using the Metallic pearl paint.

I will be mixing these two mediums again because the results are amazing!
Now it is your turn to get your PAWS INKY.

Use the Link in the challenge picture above to
show us your creations, cards or any other project.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Ode to the Peep

Hi everyone!
It “Must be Love” over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
My card for the challenge is all about something that I love dearly.
No, not my husband, kids or cats but….
 the best thing about spring,
the sugary marshmallow yumminess of a Peep candy!

My card today is an ode to the yummy yummy Peep,
and my ridiculous crazy love for them.
Since I love to mix stamp sets,
this card features two, “My kind of Peep” and “Really Like You”.
I started with masking and stamping my Peeps on white cardstock.
Next, I colored in my Peeps with Distress Ink in traditional Peep colors.
I added on my sentiment and, just to have some fun a background of x's and o's.
And I was done!

Hope you enjoyed this quick card.
Thanks for stopping by

Smitten IPC 65

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the start of a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner,
we have some GREAT COLORS to get those Paws Inky.

So many ways to use the colors in the challenge.
This is how I chose to use them with
the NEW “Newton's Sweetheart” Stamp Set.

Smitten a card by Diane Morales| Newton's Sweetheart Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

When I saw this stamp set, it was love at first sight!
 Such cute images to stamp.
It was that cuteness that inspired this card.
For this card, I started with the background first.
I know I wanted to use the brown in the background to make all the colors pop.
I settled on a kraft paper card with a brown plaid background.
For the green, I went simple I grabbed a punch out of my stash
and decided just to make some grass, because my kitties love to frolic in the grass.
For the pink, I just used the heart die from the
“Newton Sweetheart” Coordinating die set, and die cut out pink hearts.
Finally, the I stamped out the kitties and colored them in soft colors.
Added the sentiment on the grass
and assembled the card on a white background.
Now it’s your turn!
Use the colors in the challenge to show us how you get your Paws Inky.
Link to the challenge in the picture above.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you at the halfway point.
