Inky Paw's Challenge 156 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

We have a FUN sketch challenge for you to work with.

Is it me? Or did summer just fly by so fast.

So much for endless summer, but…. that means that it is time for

My FAVORTE time of year Fall/Halloween

FAIR WARNING!

From this moment on there is going to be

a lot of Fall and Halloween coming your way.

Starting with this card.

Since I am still not felling 100% yet after catching Covid.

I knew I had to keep things simple.

When I am lacking in creativity I always go back to my go to,

Black /white/ and a pop of color.

To start my card front, I built a card front using white cardstock and the

Large Postage Edge Rectangle from the Frameworks Die Set.

I also went into my paper stash and chose a piece of black and white patterned paper.

(Creepy Confections by My Favorite Things)

I die cut out my paper together so that everything would line up.

I chopped off half of the patterned paper to create the bottom of the card.

I am not good at using ribbon on card so to create the across element on the sketch

The Sky Boarders Die makes perfect scallops

along with lilac card stock from my stash.

My featured stamp set is the Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set.

I stamped out my images including a whole bunch of the little candies.

The long candy I colored like Smarties and the round candy like those

sour candy my kids liked when they were little.

I just wanted everything to be fun and colorful.

To finish this card, I stamped on a sentiment on the front of the card.

I was in the middle of deciding my placement of all the elements on the card when

I realized I did not like the background. There was something just off.

Since my head is still in a covid fog, I came up with

a simple solution, another scallop made with black cardstock.

This simple addition put in the extra flair I was looking for in the background.

For final touches on this card, I created a card base with black cardstock.

I got all the placement of the elements that I wanted on the front of the card,

And attached all that cuteness to the front with foam tape.

This completes my take on our sketch challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge theme and show us your take.

Anything Goes - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

ANYTHING GOES

Featuring Stamps and Dies by MY FAVORITE THINGS

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

I thought I would try a one layer card this week.

I usually do not make these types of cards.

The thought of making one mistake and having to start over gives me hives.

But…. I am willing to try it.

For card front, I am using the Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangle by Simon Says Stamp.

and #120 White Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp

The idea is to have the image in the center surrounded by blue sky…?

For this to happen I also need Rectangle Basic Set by Memory Box.

I am going to make a mask and create a square to showcase my stamped image.

that’s the plan.

I created my mask and using the rectangle die that fits in the center.

I carefully lined up the mask and got everything ready to ink.

The ink of choice is Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.

Just inking around the edges of the mask to create that showcase square .

Next, using the Let Your Hair Down Clear Stamp by My Favorite Things I stamped my image.

I lifted the mask and loved what I saw.

Now to the hard part I had to color this.

I stared with light colors and added accents where I thought they should be.

I just took my time and rolled with it.

To finish my card, I stamped on a sentiment and the cute birdy.

I also created a card base using the same Chunky A2 Scalloped Rectangle by Simon Says Stamp.

and that completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

Featuring MY FAVORITE THINGS

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 156 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this week take on the challenge it time to celebrate!

I know that I wanted to use Newton’s Cupcake for this card.

I selected the yellow in the challenge color to be the bottom of the cupcake.

Using lighter and darker colors of my yellow alcohol markers I created stripes.

I also tied the color in by adding some yellow on Newton’s party hat.

I finished up my coloring using colors that coordinate with the

challenge colors and finished out Newton and the cupcake.

To create a background for this card I chose the Confetti Stencil,

along with the rest of the challenge colors.

I came up with a plan to strategically ink up the stencil to showcase both colors.

I used Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide

and just had fun with the process.

To finish my card, I used the Large Scalloped Rectangle from

the Frames and Flags Die Set and created a card base.

I also used one of the flags from the same die set to create a place for my sentiment.

I assembled everything together adding fun foam under Newton’s Cupcake Stamp

To finish the card, I added sparkle with dots of Stardust Stickles.

This completes my take on our color challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge theme and show us your take.

Add a Sentiment - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

we are ADDING A SENTIMENT

Featuring Stamps and Dies by CLEARLY BESOTTED

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash,

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

Keeping it clean and simple this week.

I stared out this card by creating a card front out of #120 white card stock.

I lined up the Brush Stroke Stencil on center of my card front.

Beginning at the top of the stencil I inked up the stencil

using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide and as I got toward the bottom

of the stencil, I used Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide.

After the ink dried, using the Flower Friends Clear Stamp and

Onyx Black Versa Fine Ink, I stamped my flowers over the top.

Next, I used the sentiments that came with the stamp set

and strategically stamped on my sentiment into the stenciled image on top.

For a final touch, I added on Clear sequins and attached my card front to

a card base made with Cotton Candy card stock by Simon Says Stamp

and that completes my take on ADD A SENTIMENT

Featuring CLEARLY BESOTTED

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 156 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

I love the color challenge!

Of course, these colors just scream tropical, so why not go with it!

Using the Tropical Leaves Stencil is a must to start this card.

Once the stencil was secure on my cardstock I strategically

inked up the Tropical Leaf stencil using

Mowed Lawn

Peacock feathers

and Mustard Seed Distress Oxides Ink.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures while I was doing this.

I worked with a small blender brush and took my time, so I did not muddy the colors.

I also splattered on some extra Mustard Seed Paint to bring in more yellow color.

While the background was drying, I turned my attention to the Kitty from the

Newton’s Perfect Wave Stamp Set.  I stared by coloring in the surf board

yellow to stand out against the background.

A bright pink Bathing suit completed the look for my kitty.

To complete my card, I die cut out my card front square.

After I attached my card front to a card base, I used the 2 inch Circle

from the Circle Frames Die Set to create a place for my sentiment.

Finally, I attached my kitty to the front of my card with foam tape

and added some sequins for sparkle.

This completes my take on our color challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge theme and show us your take.

Funny/Punny - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

we are tickling your Funny/Punny  bone.

Featuring Stamps and Dies by RILEY AND COMPANY

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash,

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

I selected the Make a Wish Cling Rubber Stamp by Riley and Company

I am one of those people that has a bonfire on their birthday cake so

I thought this was just hilarious!

Since I had just a sentiment, I had to build this card from the ground up.

For my card front background, I went with the Slimline Organic Dots,

and the Distress Oxide colors of Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Salvaged Patina.

Using the stencil, I inked up a background.

Once that was dry, I die cut out that background using the Rectangle Basic Set by Memory Box.

Now to add the flair.

I went with the Balloons from the Celebration Time Die Set.

I die cut each balloon, and with the die cut still in the die I added ink to the balloon.

This is an old school technique that creates

a little bit of a white edge around your die cut.

A bit of twine ( from my stash) is attached to the back of

each balloon and placed in my card front.

To finish my card, I created a card base of

Audrey Blue Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp.

Creating another rectangle from the Rectangle Basic Set by Memory Box

I stamped on my sentiment and attached it to the front of my card.

A final touch of matching pearls from the Over the Rainbow Shaker Pack

by Little Things by Lucy’s Cards complete my card.

and that completes my take on Funny/Punny

Featuring RILEY AND COMPANY
