We are taking PAWS for an enjoyable book card today. 

This card features

All Booked Up

Black and White Basics 6x6 Paper Pad

Fractured Card Layout Die

Frames and Flags Die Set

 

In the Pacific Northwest we love our pets and books!

Nothing better than to curl up with a delightful book and your furry friend on a rainy afternoon.

The All Booked Up stamp set is Purrr-fect for this vibe.

To start this card I created a background using the Fractured Card Layout Die

Black, white, and pop of color is one of my favorite combos.

For this combo I chose baby blue card stock to be my pop of color.

To mix things up, I used the Square texture paper from Black and White Basics 6x6 Paper Pad

After cutting out each individual color using the Fractured Card Layout  Die.

I played around with the pieces until I got the combo that I liked, then

after assembling my background I set it aside to dry.

Next, they stamped out my images from All Booked Up

I colored my images using complementary colors to the background.

Once I was satisfied with the colors, I cut out my image using the coordinating dies.

To create a place for my sentiment I used a banner from Frames and Flags Die Set

To assemble my card I attached the fractured background to a white card base.

I positioned my banner at the bottom of my card first and then

 attached my image above it with foam tape.

To add a bit of extra interest, I use the paw prints from the stamp set and a few enamel dots.

Newton's Nook Design Feature - Spring Bunnies

Day One Of Our Spring Feature. 

 

Today we are taking a look at the

NEW Springtime Bunnies and Happy Easter Paper Pack.

 

For this incredibly cute stamp set I created this card.

Started this card off by using the Basketweave Stencil In a unique way.

I treated this stencil like an embossing folder.

This is a terrific way to stretch your product.

To do this you need a die-cutting machine that is wide enough to manage a 6x6 stencil.

1st choose your paper, add a light spritz of water to that paper.

You want to have the appropriate sandwich for your die cutting machine.

I use my Cuttlebug for embossing and a rubber press plate.

Once I run my sandwich through my machine my stencil has now embossed the paper.

Please make sure that you let the paper dry before die-cutting.

To make my shaped card, I use the Frames and Flags Die Set.

Using a basic circle die from my stash to die cut a window that is

going to feature paper from Happy Easter Paper Pack.

I created a banner using one of the flags from the Frames and Flags Die Set for my sentiment.

Once my banner was placed on the front of my card, I attached

the bunnies and eggs from Springtime Bunnies 

These bunnies are SO CUTE!!

Golden Holiday Card

Hello Newton Fans!

Here today on the blog sharing a golden holiday card.

 

I had no idea Christmas Cactuses were a thing until I saw this stamp set.

Finally a couple of years ago, I found my very own Christmas Cactus at Trader Joe's.

 

This is Holly, she just finished blooming.

 Over the years I have loved watching holly grow and sprout out her flowers.

Every holiday season I enjoy pulling out this stamp set and creating a card inspired by Holly.

To create this year's card, I started with the golden background.

Using the Christmas Cactus, I stamped the image

in a random pattern using Versamark ink onto gold card stock.

I use gold embossing powder and heat set the embossing powder onto the cardstock.

I let the embossed image dry and then die cut the embossed paper with the

banner from the Basic Frames Die Set.

Next, I created a card front and base using red cardstock and the Frames and Flag Die Set.

I stamped, colored, and die-cut out images from the Christmas Cactus Stamp.

I assembled my card front and base and then added the golden layer on top.

Finally, I added my die cut Christmas Cactus on top of the golden layer with foam tape.

I positioned an additional section of Christmas Cactus in the background to enhance 

the card front and allow the foreground image to occupy more space.

To complete this card I created a simple banner with one of

 the sentiments included in the stamp set.

Also I added some gold bobbles for bling.

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Release - Day 2

WELCOME TO OUR WINTER WONDERLAND!

We are on day two of our preview.

Falling Snow Toner Card Fronts

Snowfall Die Set

 Let it Snow Die Set 

Using these products I created this card!

 

The Falling Snow Toner Card Front is the star of the show!

I use my laminator to add silver foil to the front of my toner card.

When the foil was set up, I use the largest scalloped die from the

Frames and Flags Die Set to cut the foil piece and create a shaped card.

With my card now complete, I turned my attention to the Let it Snow Die Set

I created The snowy effect on my lettering my letters by using a technique

that I shared on my blog on October 15th.

I die cut this out and placed it onto its backer.

Next, I use the Snowfall Die Set to create some snowflakes in the same manner.

Once everything was glued together, I decided on placement.

Everything was added to the front of my card with foam tape.

A final touch of added gems to the front of the card for a little more sparkle.

I love the combination of dark blue and silver together and I highly recommend you try it!

When you use when you use toner foil you have all those lovely spent pieces.

I created this card with one of those pieces.

I was experimenting Foil pieces one evening and decided to glue one

of the spent foils to a piece of gray cardstock with two-sided tape.

(more on this later)

Let us just say the results were dramatic!

I thought it would be fun to use the Fractured Card Layout Die to cut this foil out.

I reassembled all of the pieces and created them into a card front and also created a card base.

Next, I used Snowman Postage Sampler Stamp Set to add snowmen

and a sentiment to the front of the card.

I also added the smallest snowflake from the Snowfall Die Set

I also added some sparkly gray sequins and gems to the front of the card.

Hello Newton Fans

 Today I am here with you to share this fun Halloween card! 

This card started off with the Spooky Halloween Foil

it has been a while since I used toner foil.

 My foiling was a little rough around the edges.

I do not think I had my machine hot enough.

That is OK we can make it look antique.

I used an old school technique that I learned a long time ago when I was first card making.

To do this we first start by heating up the foil paper with our heat gun.

I do this step a couple of times, just heat it up and let it cool.

That is going to give tiny cracks in the foil.

Once the paper is completely cool, you are going to move on to the new next step.

Using some Lost Shadow Distress Ink, I rubbed ink onto my foil to expose those tiny cracks.

I used an incredibly soft cloth to buff off some of the ink and then added another layer of ink.

I kept alternating, adding ink and buffing until I liked what I saw.

I left this piece of altered paper aside to dry.

Once it was dry I used the Oval Frames Die Set to create my shaped card.

 Next, I turned my attention to the stamps I wanted to use.

From Spooky Coffees I used the mummy coffee cup, steam, and sentiment.

From Halloween Postage Sampler I use the ghost.

I stamped, colored, and die-cut all the pieces out.

To create a base for my stamps I used vellum the smaller scalloped oval 

from the Oval Frames Die Set.

The banner comes from Frames and Flags Die Set.

I layered everything on the front of the card using foam tape.

A few extra gems were added to make the card sparkle.

Some Disco Stickles on my ghost to make them shine.

Falloween Release - Day 3

 

Day three preview has all the Fall Feels!

For the Autumn Fields 

I just had to do a Shaped card.

To create my shaped card I chose the Oval Frames Die Set.

For the background I have paper from Autumn Meows Paper Pad

on top of that is the cutest scarecrow from Autumn Fields 

the crows in this stamp set are everything!!!

For the Pumpkin Tails Stamp Set

I stared this card out by dye cutting the Filigree Oval Frame Die Set out of orange card stock.

As I was trying to figure out how I wanted to layer this frame, when

 I stumbled across the red leaf paper from Autumn Meows Paper Pad

His paper looked really good behind the orange filigree and that is how this card front was created.

I use the kitties from Pumpkin Tails Stamp Sets

To finish this card, a simple banner made from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

Falloween Release - Day 1

Coming to you today to share the first THREE NEW amazing products

 that we have for this Falloween Release!

 

We are starting off with the NEW Card Layout 5 Die

I use this die along with the Autumn Meows Paper Pad  to create panels for my card front.

This NEW card front die is SO AMAZING!!

It creates a quilt-like card front to make your card making super easy.

I chose two different patterns of paper with a white border around.

Now that my card front is created, it's time to use the

NEW Autumn Coffees to finish this card up.

To create a place for my coffee cups I used the stitched heart die from the Heart Frames Die Set.

I chose three of the fun cups from Autumn Coffees

Once those were colored in and die-cut out I placed them on the front of the card with foam tape.

I use a banner from the Frames And Flags Die Set , stamped my sentiment onto it.

 I tucked this banner underneath and behind my heart.

For my second card.

All of the off cuts from my first card were picked off of my cutting pad with Press And Seal.

I added glue to the back of the off cuts and added them to a black card base.

Once everything was dry, I used the scalloped circle from the Circle Frames Die Set

To create a place for my images.

Choosing cups from the Spooky Coffees Stamp Set was hard!!

All the cups are so cute!

I ended up choosing 5 different ones!

After I finished getting the images ready, I added them to the front of my card with foam tape.

I used a banner from the Frames And Flags Die Set to create a place for my sentiment.

 I hope you enjoyed my cards!
