Inky Paw's Challenge 162 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Time for Coffee

Coffee House Stories 6x6 Paper Pad

Frameworks Die Set

Using the challenge sketch, I made this card.

I am LOVING the new release by Newton’s Nook Designs.

The cornerstone of the release is the Coffee House Stories 6x6 Paper Pad.

Perfect for the card I had in mind for this challenge.

I selected the coffee bean paper to be the background elements of the card.

The hardest part of the card was to get the background stripes evenly spaced on my card base.

Once the background stripes are glued down, it was time to create the card front.

Using the scalloped frame the Frameworks Die Set, I die cut out three frames.

I glued the frames together to create a thick boarder.

I added card stock to the back of the frame to close the frame off.

I placed the frame aside to dry and stamped and colored the coffee press and cup.

Time for Coffee is the perfect complement for the paper pad.

Once the frame was dry, I stamped on my sentiment of chose.

After wrapping twine around the bottom, I add on the French press and cup.

I glued my frame to the base of the card, and this card was done.

Now it is your turn!

ANYTHING GOES

  Featuring stamps and dies by

Mama Elephant

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

My stamp set of choice for this challenge is:

Hot Cocoa Clear Stamp Set by Mama Elephant

Such a super cute stamp set! This made it hard to choose an image to use.

I decided on the bunny in the cup, then I stamped and colored the image.

After fussy cutting out the image I created a card front

by using Rectangle Basic Set and white card stock.

To this card front I added on my sentiment, my fussy cut image

and a bit of flair using the fireworks stencil and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.

I nested this on a card base made from

Postage Stamp Edge Frames Wafer Die and cotton candy card stock.

a finishing touch of iridescent pearls to the front and my card was done.

This completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

Featuring Mama Elephant

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 162 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Christmas Cocktails Stamp  Set

Confetti Stencil

Frames and Flags Die Set

Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this card.

There are a lot of elements on this sketch so let us start with the background.

The easiest way to make a cool looking card front is with a stencil.

For this card front I used the Confetti Stencil and

Milled Lavender, Salvaged Patina, and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I don’t usually have a plan when I use stencils, I just add ink until I like the look.

You can do what works best for you, the important thing is

to come up with a card front that you like.

I liked the colors that I picked so much that I thought that

they would look great as the elements in the back.

I grabbed my go-to die set the Frames and Flags Die Set, and die cut out 3 banners.

Next, I covered those banners with the same ink that I used on confetti card front.

Now to the fun stuff, I stamped, and die cut out images from Christmas Cocktails.

I went all in, got out the gel pens and stickles. I added a lot of glam to my cocktails.

To assemble my card, I squared my card front and added it to a matching card base.

Next, stared to add all the elements on top.

Banners first, and then a stitched square die cut I had in my stash.

I stamped my sentiment onto the stitched square and then added

my cocktails around the sentiment.

I finished off my card with some chalk white flat rhinestones and spritz of shimmer spray.

That is my take on the theme.

Now it is your turn!

Make Your Own Background - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

THIS WEEK’S THEME AT THE

 Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

We are Making Your Own Background

    Featuring stamps and dies by

Paper Rose Studio

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

My stamp set of choice for this challenge is:

Little Presents and Sentiments by Paper Rose Studio

When I saw this cut little stamp set, I thought it would be perfect for

A repetitive stamped background.

I decide to get out 2 clear stamping blocks and just go for it!

On one clear block I placed the presents.

On the second clear block I placed the sentiment.

I got out some white cardstock and just started stamping.

I love this kind of stamping, there is no preconceived ideas, you just stamp.

I stamped several pages of card stock until I came up with a pattern that I liked.

To make the card front I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies by Simon Says Stamp.

Since there is a whole lot of print going on the card front, I decided on an old school idea

of a peephole in the card front. This would be a cool place to

add some color with fussy-cut presents and a sentiment.

Peepholes are easily made by just die cutting out a section of card front.

For this I used Nesting Circle Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp.

Next, I create a card base using Black Black8 Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp.

Once my card front and base were glued together, I add on my fussy-cut and colored presents.

I Also added on a bright red sentiment banner.

This completes my take on Making Your Own Background

Featuring Paper Rose Studio

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 161 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Using the challenge colors, I came up with this card.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Prehistoric Christmas

Frames Squared

Frames and Flags Die Set

Meowy Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad

I had TOO MUCH fun making this card!

I created the card base by using the Frames Squared Die Set and green card stock.

Next, I die cut out a card front from the Meowy Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad

The printed tree card stock is perfect for the challenge colors.

(green and dark green)

Using the small rounded edge square, I die cut out some white card stock.

I also cut out a second square out of brown cardstock.

The idea is to have the brown card stock to be the “ground”.

After trimming and adhering the two pieces together,

I carefully stamped on the trees to create a tree line.

Stamped and die cut out the velociraptor was next.

I colored in my dinosaur using an earthy yellow color that would pop out from the background.

After my ink was dry, I stared  assembling all my die cut pieces for the front of the card.

To finish this card, I used a banner from the Frames and Flags Die Set, that

has been trimmed down to create a place for my sentiment.

That is my take on the theme.

 Now it is your turn!
