Out of This World ! IPC 115

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge!
Here is our current challenge.
 Inky Paws Challenge

Check out my card!

Out of This World a card by Diane Morales | Cosmic Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

 Looks hard, but it’s not!
First ink up a card base with a light color that is going to pop!

Second, using the Darling Hearts Die Set and some transparent book cover plastic cover, I die cut a bunch of hearts and covered that base color up.

Third, blend in your choice of blue colors on top.
In my case, every Tim Holtz blue I could get my hands on!
I used the darker colors on the edges and light colors toward the center.

Fourth, add a splash of “stars” with Brushed Pewter Distress Stain.

Fifth, pull up the masked hearts and admire your work!

To finish my card, I add “clouds” at the bottom using the Sky Boarders Die Set
Cosmic Newton is my featured Stamp Set.

I love to try new things, and this came out better that I expected!
The under-color hearts are SO dramatic!
I hope you enjoyed MY TAKE on the challenge and my card

MINE ! IPC 115

Who is ready for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!
Here it is!
 Inky Paws Challenge

I honestly don’t know where my ideas come from.
When an idea gets stuck in my head, I
must see it through.
This was the case with this card.

Mine! a card by Diane Morales using the Gull Freinds Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I knew for this challenge I did not wat to do “normal hearts”.
Thumbing through my Newton stamp set I came across my Gull Friends Stamp Set
Then I thought to myself seagulls + sunshine.
I grabbed my Sunscape Stencil and inked up a background
of sunlight using Squeezed Lemonade and Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I also die cut the bottom “sea” part of my card using
the Sea Borders Die Set and some light blue cardstock.
I then colored in my seagulls to match the colors that I had used already.
It is about this time that I realized that challenge was about HEARTS
and I had NO HEARTS ON MY CARD!!!
In a panic, I started going thru my Newton Stamps looking
for hearts that would make sense with what I created.
I found the It’s a Plan Stamp Set with the perfect solution for my dilemma,
Those cute hearts all in a row!
I would stamp my hearts on my sun to “radiate love”
I used Scatted Straw Distress Ink and because I am a messy stamper,
i taped the bottom half so i can stamp the hearts just where i wanted them.

I also stamped in a heart above my seagulls and colored that in with red Nuvo Drops.
I attached all this card together using a base that was die cut from the
Finally, I die cut out the word “mine” using the Essential Alphabet Die Set.
I was just going to keep the letters white, but it looked BORING.
I took a chance, taped my letters down and inked up
the bottom half with the same ink I used for my sun above.
I liked the results and added them to the front of my card to mimic a wave pattern.

And… that is my take on hearts!
 Now it is your turn!
I can’t wait to see what everybody creates.

Inky Paws Challenge #114

We are at the midway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge.
Here is the challenge sketch.
 Inky Paws Challenge

Here is my take on the sketch.

A card by Diane Morales featuring the Newton Dreams of Italy Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs for the Inky Paws Challenge

When I create my projects, I like to thumb through
my Newton Nook Stamps to see what sparks my creativity.
I came upon the Newton Dreams of Italy Stamp Set and an
idea immediately jumped into my head.
Using the Curved edge rectangle of the Frame and Flags Die Set
I created the center of the design.

I thought it would be fun to have the bottom part look like water
and use Newton in a gondola as the features stamp.
I was just going to use printed paper as the background, but after staging
the card together I discovered that the printed paper was not enough.
Why not add some more texture using the
Tumbling Hearts Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink.

The rest of my card I kept simple by using the largest heart from
the Darling Hearts Die Set behind my image.
I also used the “love” part of the die set and
a WHOLE LOT of foam tape To finish my card.

Just a clean and simple card.
Now it is your turn.

Happy New Year with a Twist!

Happy New Year
Welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
Checkout this AMAZING sketch we have for you!

Sketch challenges are my favorite!
I just love to put a twist on the sketch.
And that what I did!

New Year Twist a card by Diane Morales | Lemon Twist Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I just wanted to keep things bright and cheerful.
This decided the theme of the whole card.
I used the Lemon Twist Stamp Set for the featured stamp set.

For the background, I used one part of the Plaid Stencil Set.

Who knew that just three colors could have such an impact!
I just LOVE the way that this card came out.
I hope this inspires you to grab your favorite Newton’s Nook Stamp Set
and create your version of our sketch!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you have an amazing year full of joy and happiness.

Hugs
