Happy Meowr

Hello Everyone!

Up on the Newton’s Nook block today with this fun summer card.

For this card I used

Newton’s Happy Meowr

lSunscape Stencil

Sea Boarders Die

Frames Squared

Banner Duo Die Set

To start this card, I pulled out the Sunscape stencil.

I decided on using Distress Oxide in Scattered Straw and Carved Pumpkin.

In my usual manner I just stenciled everything in until I liked the way it looked.

Once my sun was stenciled in. I put my paper aside to dry.

Next, I turned my attention to the images from Newton Happy Meowr

I colored my images in using Blues and turquoise to pop in front of all that sunshine.

To assemble my card, I created a base from the Frame Squared Die Set and Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

I created sand at the bottom using the Sea Borders Die

I used Neenah Desert Storm card stock with a bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Ink splashed on.

I just wanted to see just the edge of the scallops

out on the front of the card so I did end up using

a square die from my stash for the card front.

I die cut out everything from my card front and attached it to my base.

I placed my sunny background down 1st, and then my die cut sand on top

I placed my images on the card, next popping some of them up with foam tape.

I also created a sentiment banner using the Banner Duo Die Set.

To finish this card, I added Stickles to the sun and anywhere blue.

I hope you get to try this card for yourself!

 Thanks for stopping by

Hope you have an awesome day

 Stay crafty my friends!

Inky Paw's Challenge 197 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Gull Friends

Sunscape Stencil Set

Sea Boarders Die Set

Waves- Shark Bites Stamp Set

Sentiment – Beach Bound

For my take on this challenge, I decided to use the challenge colors for a fun seaside shaped card.

I started this card by using the Sunscape Stencil Set.

I taped the stencil onto white card stock and inked up the yellow sunshine.

With a strip of blue cardstock, I used one of the dies from the Sea Boarders Die Set

To die cut some waves for the bottom of my card.

I wanted to add interest to my blue wave bottom so using the water stamp

from the Shark Bites Stamp Set I stamped on water ripples.

To make my shaped card I lined up my sunshine background

with the waves at the bottom inside a Basic circle die.

I taped everything down and ran everything through my die cutting machine.

This created the start of my card front.

I also used the same basic circle die to create my card base.

I started to assemble my card by gluing my card front to the base I created.

Next, I lined up the waves at the bottom with my stenciled sunshine and glued the waves down.

I stamped colored and die cut out my image from Gull Friends.

I added the seagulls to the front of my card with foam tape.

I used an off cut of my die cut waves to cover up the bottom of the pilings

To complete this card, I stamped on a sentiment from the Beach Bound Stamp Set

To the sunshine on my card front

This completes my take on this challenge.

I Hope this gives you a bit of inspiration for your next project.

Inky Paw's Challenge 168 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Check out this sketch challenge!

Here is my take on this sketch.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Cozy Campers

Sunscape Stencil

Land Boarders Die

Slimline Windows and Frames Die Set (banner)

The idea for this card came one evening when the sun was setting.

I thought about how lovely it would be to capture the layers of light on a card.

To create the look that I saw that evening,

I started by gluing down 1 ½ inch strips of colored card stock on to a white card stock base.

Make sure the colors that you used are noticeable different from each other.

This helps the colors in the background to pop back at you.

You will be embossing in the next step, so make sure the glue you use is completely dry.

I placed the Sunscape Stencil over the strips I created and generously applied Versamark ink.

Next, I coated the whole front in clear embossing powder and heat set.

This creates the beautiful ray of sunshine for the back of the card.

Then, I stamped and colored the camper from the Cozy Campers stamp set.

To keep my camper grounded, I die cut out some grass using the Land Boarders Die.

Once the camper was glued to the front of the card, I created a place for

my sentiment using the banner from the Slimline Windows and Frames Die Set.

To finish up this card, I created a card base and added on some hearts to the front of the card.

That completes my take on this challenge.

Inky Paw's Challenge 150 - Sketch Challenge

 Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

It is sketch challenge time!

Here is my take on the challenge.

I knew that I wanted to do a slimline card so for the background

I decided on the Slimline Frames and Portholes Die Set.

I totally have been into my stencils lately and the Sunscape Stencil is my chose for the backdrop.

Inking up my stencil with a combination of Squeezed Lemonade,

Milled Lavender, and Salvaged Patina Distress Ink.

I used the Milled Lavender as a in between color so that the yellow and blue would not turn green

I also inked up the bottom of the card with Salvage Patina Distress Ink to act at a “sky”.

Next, I die cut my clouds and stars from the Sky Scene Builders Die.

The clouds I kept white but the stars I add a layer of Comic Shimmer Opal Paste.

This gave the stars a bit of texture and a lovely shine when the card is moved around.

Finally, I stamped, colored, and die cut my image from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set.

I selected a bold purple for my starship to stand out against all that blue and white.

I assembled all my pieces on the front of my card.

Added on a sentiment using bits from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set

and the Birthday Roundabout Stamp Set.

To finish off the card I stamped on some itty bitty stars to the card front here

and there and attached the card front to a card base

That completes my take on this challenge.

Now it is your turn.
