Bloom into Spring

Who is ready for Spring??

This is my favorite time of year.

I just love everything that comes back to life from winter.

All the beautiful colors that come with the flowers of spring.

In honor of the start of spring I chose to do a fun tag featuring Orchids Stamp.

First thing to do is to die cut your tag out of blue card stock using the Bookmark ll Die.

We are going to do things a bit in reverse.

The next thing I am going to do is take the sentiment and

stamp it on the tag in the upper left-hand corner.

Now I can use the stamp from the Orchid Stamp and Versamark ink

to stamp a background design on to the front of the tag.

This is a quick and effortless way to give your background some dimension.

Next, I stamped out my Orchid Stamp.

I colored my orchid with bright bold colors.

After die-cutting out my orchard with the coordinating dies,

I added the Orchard to the front of my tag with foam tape.

For a final addition I used my Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen to add a bit of sparkle to my colored orchid.

Hope you enjoyed my first project of spring!

Newton's Nook Designs December Release - Day 3

Hello Everybody!

It is the final Day of our New Release!

For this day we have TWO amazing new stamp sets!

Newton’s & Puppy’s Cookie Jar Stamp Sets

+ Coordinating Die Sets

Both stamps are beyond cute!

For Newton’s Cookie Jar I decided on a shape card.

The card base was die cut out using the scalloped Hexagon Frames Die and red card stock.

For the card front I used the red hearts paper from the Lovely Hearts Paper Pad.

I assembled my card together and used the smaller

scalloped hexagon from Hexagon Frames Die for the background behind my image.

I stamped, colored and die cut my image from Newton’s Cookie Jar

The sentiments that are included with Newton’s Cookie Jar

to fit perfectly on the front of the cookie jar.

Once everything was ready, I added my image to the front of my card with foam tape.

I also added plenty of cookies because who does not like cookies!

For Puppy’s Cookie Jar

I started with a tag that was created with craft cardstock

and the tiny beige hearts from Lovely Hearts Paper Pad.

I use the Bookmark Die Set to cut out these two pieces of card stock.

Next, I stamped colored and die cut out my images from Puppy’s Cookie Jar

I assembled my bookmark and then added the small, scalloped heart from Heart Frames Die Set

Then I added my images on to the front of my tag using foam tape.

A few extra cookies at the bottom and a bit of ribbon at the top completed this fun tag.

Hope you enjoyed my take on these fun new products!

Newton's Nook Designs December Release - Day 1

Welcome to day ONE of our December Release

So excited to show you the three new goodies!

Today we are introducing

Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Set

Lovely Hearts Paper Pad

AND

 Valentine Word Trio Die Set

We are starting off with the Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set.

These super cute images need to have super cute little cards.

I used the Circle Frames Die Set with red cardstock to make a card base.

The NEW Lovely Hearts Paper Pad is die cut with the

same Circle Frames Die to make the card front.

The front of this card features the cherries from Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set.

and to finish this card creating a tiny sentiment banner by hand using the “be mine”

from Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set.

For the second card, I started off with a card base created using the decorative

square from the Frames Squared Die Set and purple card stock.

I use tiny purple hearts paper from Lovely Hearts Paper Pad for the card front.

I use the larger circle from the same Frame Squared Die Set as a place for my cupcake.

The cupcake is from the NEW Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set

A simple sentiment by stamping the “love” above the cupcake.

When I was done with these two cards, I created matching envelopes and added

some details on to those envelopes by using the Valentine Postage Sampler Stamp Set.

For the Valentine Word Trio Die Set

I started this card using the pink hearts paper from the Lovely Hearts Paper Pad.

I die cut this paper out using the largest rectangle from the Basic Frames Die Set.

I used a lighter pink card stock to create a card base for the cute pink card front.

I wanted something bold for the card front feature.

Going through my paper stash I pulled out white paper,

Flamingo Pink Paper, Pink Glitter Paper, and Holographic Paper.

I die cut the XOXO from Valentine Word Trio Die Set out of each of these papers.

I sat at my desk and mixed the letters and backgrounds up until I liked the combination of color.

Next, I glued the combinations onto a separate piece of white card stock stacked in a row.

When trimming out this stack I left a little frame of white card stock in the background.

I added foam tape to the stack and placed it onto the front of my card.

Hope you enjoyed my take on these FUN NEW PRODUCTS!

All these new products will be available. Friday, December 13

Leftover Pieces make a Holiday Tag

Hello and Welcome

This project is perfect for a cold chilly day in Portland.

Created with end of the year scraps, this tag came out super cute!

 For this project I used

Santa Paws Newton

Holiday Foliage Hot Foil Plate

Labels Hot Foil Plate

Bookmark 2 Die

Every year about this time I go through the pile of scraps in my leftover basket.

These scraps are remnants from projects, or ideas that just did not work out.

The goal is to use up as many of these pieces as I can to create a card or tag.

It is always fun to see how I can breathe new life into all these leftover pieces.

To see ideas for projects I did not see previously.

As I spread all the pieces across my desk, I noticed a few things that might go together.

The tag I had created earlier using the Holiday Foliage Hot Foil Plate

this is white foil heat set on to Navy card stock.

A leftover foiled gold foiled hot foiled label.

A Santa Newton image die cut and already colored.

All these items spurred the completion of one great tag!

After I added a bit of glitter to the Santa Newton piece and

a sentiment on the gold label, I glued everything down.

I added gold ribbon to the top and a couple of gold bobbles, this tag was done.

All these items were destined for recycling now are a fun holiday tag!!!

Hope this encourages you to dig around your scrap bins and see what you can produce.

Hope you have an awesome day

Let's Get Batty

For this first day of October let us get Batty!

It is officially my birthday month and to start things off with a bang!

I have this super cute, shaped card perfect for the Halloween Season.

For this project I used

Batty Newton

Halloween Party Paper Pad

Hexagon Frame Die

Frames and Flags Die Set

To start this project off I chose paper from the Halloween Party Paper Pad.

I decided on bat paper with the pink background to be the card front.

Using the Hexagon Frame Die , I created a card base with

black cardstock and the scalloped hexagon die.

To create the card front I used the stitched hexagon die with the paper I chose.

Once everything was glued together, I placed the card aside with a weight on top for it to stay flat.

Next, I stamped my images from Batty Newton.

I colored in Newton using teals and grays to coordinate with the pink background.

Once I was done coloring, I die cut out my image.

I also used one of the flags from the Frames And Flags Die Set

to create a place for the sentiment.

I chose the placement of my image and tucked the sentiment behind.

The sentiment is glued down and the image is popped up with foam tape.

To finish this card, I stamped and die cut a couple of bats to add to the front of the card.

I also added a couple of black gems for to give the card sparkle

This is a fun shaped card that was easy to make!

The bat paper from the Halloween Party Paper Pad

and Batty Newton are the perfect combo for your next Halloween card.

Thanks for stopping by

Hope you have an awesome day

 Stay crafty my friends!

Newton's Nook Designs Fall & Halloween - Day 4

Hello Everybody!

It is day FOUR of our New Release!

This this stamp set is going to LEAF you feeling crafty.

Leaf Splendor Stamp Set

Using this stamp set i created this card

To start this card, I used the following colors of distress oxide.

I chose one color for each of the leaves that I wanted to use in the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set.

I randomly stamped the leaves on to a piece of white card stock.

Since this is oxide ink the leaves had to dry completely before moving on.

I also stamped extra leaves with the same colors as I used for the background.

For these leaves, I used a water brush and just pulled out the color from the center of the leaf.

I also set these leaves aside to dry completely.

I created a card base by using sage card stock and the

largest scalloped edge dies from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

The background of leaves is now dry, I decided to use the

largest stitched rectangle in the Basic Frames Die Set to cut my leaf background.

This rectangle die fits perfectly in the center of the Frames and Flags Die.

After gluing my card front and card base together, I die cut out

all my water-colored leaves using the coordinating dies.

The sentiments on this stamp set come with coordinating

dies that cut around the sentiment perfectly!

I used straw colored cardstock and a die from the Circle Frames Die Set

to create a place for this cool looking sentiment.

To add my sentiment circle to the card I added just a

strip of foam tape to the center in the back of the circle

This way I could layer my leaves behind the sentiment.

I added leaves behind the circle until I liked what I saw.

To finish this card, I added a couple of gems.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the Leaf Splendor Stamp Set

This and all the other fun new stamps and papers items are available Friday, September 13th
