Inky Paws Challenge - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

We have lovely holiday colors for you to work with.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Since it is the official start of the holiday season I though that

Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set was purr-fect for my card.

I started my card with a background made of the Reindeer Stencil,

Versamark Ink, and clear embossing powder on Kraft Card stock.

Once all of that was dry and cool to the touch, I die cut

this background out using the Large Postage Edge Rectangle

 from the Frameworks Die Set.

Next, I stamped, and die cut out my images and

colored them in using the challenge colors.

I stamped my sentiment on the Small Scalloped Circle

from the Circle Frames Die.

To finish my card, I added Santa Newton to my

scalloped circle on the front of my card.

That completes my take on this challenge.

So excited to see what everyone creates.

Anything Goes - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here at the
This week it is ANYTHING GOES

Featuring Products by PENNY BLACK

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash,

we would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

When swiping thru social media one evening I noticed that

a lot of projects are using embossing powder again.

I wanted to do something experimental.

I grabbed a jar of Antique Gold Embossing Powder by Simon Says Stamp

and the Bountiful Beauty Stamp by Penny Black and just started creating.

Unfortunately, I did not take pictures as I went.

Quite honestly, I was having too much fun!

It just relaxing just to create with no expectations.

I finally settled on a pattern that I like using the larger sunflower style stamp.

Once I embossed the gold on the card stock, it was time to lay down some color.

This came in the form on Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.

I dabbed on some ink heavy in spots and this blended everything out.

When I wiped off the extra ink I was shocked at the results.

The background looked almost leather like.

Loving the results, a grabbed for my favorite rectangle die

Memory Box Rectangle Basic Set and die cut out the top of the card,

a middle panel and a card base.

Kraft cardstock from my stash is my choice for my card base,

but I wanted gold for the middle panel.

Easy enough, Tarnished Brass Distress Paint to the rescue.

Using my finger, I smeared a little around the edge of the

middle panel and dried it with a heat tool.

Once I was sure everything was dry, I assembled my card.

I added on a simple sentiment strip with the same Kraft Cardstock.

I also add on a few sequins from the Autumn Sequin Mix by Simon Says Stamp

and a slight smear of Solar Flare Glitter Gel by Ranger Ink

across the top to add some light catching sparkle.

That completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw;s Challenge - Color Challenge

                Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

         IT’S COLOR CHALLENGE TIME!

                 Using these fun holiday colors,

I came up with this tag!

For my tag I used the NEW Destination Christmas Stamp Set.

I was in love with the V. W. Bus, so this became my featured Stamp.

I used the challenge colors to determine what colors to make my tags out of.

I die cut my top tag first and stamped my sentiment on.

Then, I die cut all my other layers and adhered them together.

Finally, I stamped the V.W. Bus and colored it up using the

challenge colors and other coordinating colors.

I adhered the cute bus to the front of the tag and added some red ribbon.

I hope this tag inspires you to uses the challenge colors and

Your favorite Newton’s Nook Stamps and GET CRAFTY!

ALSO

Newton’s Nook is having a sale right now.

Christmas - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here at the
This week we it is all about CHRISTMAS

Featuring Products by MEMORY BOX

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash,

we would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

When I first saw the Garland Stripes and Dots 6x6 paper by Memory Box,

I knew this paper would go perfect with the Memory Box Pine Tree Collage Die.

The Pine Tree Collage Die cuts out this beautiful center space

that you can fill in with trees that are included in the die set

or whatever you have in your stash.

Since this was a Christmas challenge, I decided to go with traditional Christmas colors.

I created a “snowy Hill” by using the center pop out of the die

and adhering it in behind the trees.

I add a little flair on my trees by using Moon Dust Glitter Gel by Ranger Ink

I finished my card by using Holiday Words on a Line by Simon Says Stamp

die cut out with the Tim Holtz 8x8 Metallic Kraft Stock.

That completes my take on CHRISTMAS

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge - Favorite Newton's Nook Stamp

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge

For the second half of the challenge I chose

a stamp set that is near and dear to my heart.

Newton Dream of London.

I used this stamp set on Inky Paws Challenge #31

  AND WON!

Check out my NEW take on

Newton Dreams of London.

A lot of things have changed since challenge #31.

Now we have dies to cut out our stamps and stencils to create backgrounds.

It is totally fun to combine the old and the new.

Keeping in mind the colors in the Union Jack flag of Britain,

I used matching colors of Distress Ink to create

the background with the Argyle Stencil.

The scalloped center medallion that my stamped

images sit on come from the Circle Frames Die Set.

I must say that I am totally excited to see what

Everyone choses as their favorite stamp.

I hope this card inspire you to use your favorite Newton’s Nook Stamps

along with the sketch and GET CRAFTY!

Thanks /Thanksgiving - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here at the
This week we it is all about the THANKS/THANKSGIVING

Featuring Products by PINKFRESH STUDIO

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash,

we would LOVE to see them used.

CHECK OUT MY CARD

I stared my card by pulling out some of my Memory Box Rectangle Basic Set

and some Ivory Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp

This became the base of my card.

The ivory card stock was a perfect match for

the Pinkfresh Studio Days of Splendor 6x6 paper.

I do not like anything to be to square so I chose to die cut out

my printed paper with the Simon Says Stamp Rounded Corner Die.

Using Soft Navy Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp and

the “Thanks” Wafer Die by Simon Says Stamp I created a sentiment.

I needed something to finish the card and I knew that I wanted to used leaves.

Going into my die stash I found the Skeleton Leaves Thinlits Die by Tim Holtz

I like that the shapes of the leaves in the die mimicked the shapes of the leaves on the paper.

To keep the colors matching, I die cut my leaves out of the Days of Splendor 6x6 paper.

I created a simple banner from a 1 ½ wide cut of Off-white cardstock by Simon Says Stamp

for the sentiment completes this card.

That completes my take on THANKS/THANKSGIVING

I almost forgot the good news!
