Some die cut palm trees from " the stash"
a quick shuffle thru my collection of embossing folders,
to add some texture to the plain background.
Such a fun card to make!
I highly encourage you to break into you stash.
Mess around with texture and color.

Live in the sunshine IPC #50

Hey Everyone!

Diane here with some Inspiration for the current

 Inky Paws Challenge

This is one of those cards that stared on a whim.
Not sure where it was going to go. Not sure how it was going to get there.
I stared out with a basic water colored background and a shaped card.
The colors in this challenge that got me thinking,
and led a colorful set of palm trees.

Find your Paradise IPC #50

Hey Everyone!
So excited to share this special card with you today for
The Inky Paws Challenge
This card is special, because it is my first card for the
Inky Paws Inspiration Team!
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to be on the team for my favorite stamp company.
Totally a "pinch me moment".
When I started this journey 2 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing.
The Stamp store that used to teach Die-Cutting and scarpbooking in
closed down and I was totally bummed out.
I had dabbled in card making, when my husband was deployed in the military.
 And then along came Instagram.
I was checking out all the cool cards everyone was making,
and I decided to give it another try.
Flash forward two years and here we are.

Find your Paradise card by Diane Morales Using Paradise Palms Stamp Set

For this card I kept it simple.
I love the colors in this challenge and
I wanted to make sure that they were the focus of the card.

The background is color smashed.
The stamp image is embossed over the color.
I  always use black ink and clear embossing powder.
I finished the card with a smear (literally) of Stickles for a little added shimmer.
The one helpful hint that I could offer when doing this kind of card, is to make
sure your background ink is dry before you stamp and emboss over the top.
This will avoid any crafty redo's
This is a simple card,  great for even a beginning card maker.
Super quick, if you need a card in a hurry.

Love You Tons.

Hey Everyone!
Today I have a card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge
This one is right up my alley

Did they read my mind? Watercolor just happens to be one of my favorite things.
When watercolor becomes the focus on the card,
you don't need a lot of extras to make a card work .
Less is more is the key.

The idea from this one came from watching a commercial about this cute elephant family.
The background for this card is Distress Ink that is water colored in a lot of layers.
I kept the colors are very muted, like you find in a dry Serengeti.
I had a TON( get it) of fun creating the backround for this card.
I was nice to just color and see where the color takes you.

Feel Better

Happy Saturday!

Got in some crafty time today and created a card for
The Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.

Cheerful Get Well.

I created the background for this card by messing around
with the Texture Paste below,
 a stencil and Distress Ink.

I inked my backround in First and then layered the Texture Paste over the ink with a stencil.
Warning! Texture Paste is a whole lot of fun, but takes a little bit of time to dry.
So have a snack handy.

End result is awesome and a great background for the "Bon Voyage Stamp Set"
A cute message in the clouds and we have a card.

Have a awsome weekend !

purrfect stripes

Hey everyone!

Today its all about the
 The Inky Paws Challenge
WE all have a lot of stamp sets.
We buy them for different reasons.
What do you do with little extras that come with main stamp?
You make stripes!

All those cute accessories stamps are the perfect choice for making stripes.
The sizes are always tiny to small, so they will not overpower your main image.
For this card I used the extras in the Newton's Antics Stamp Set.
I thought that black and white was boring, so I added color to the images.
I feel that I could have done something a little different
in the background, but I was a little pressed for time and just went for simple.
That's all I  have for now.

Sail Away.

(or not)

Today, I have a card today for the Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
If you have seen my work you know I LOVE a shaped card.
With Fathers Day coming up, this one was inspired by my husband who,
when retired, just wants to get on a boat and sail away.
Shaped cards are unique because you are limited in
the elements that you can add before its just to much.
This one is just layered circle dies with the elements added on top.
The waves are the interesting item here.
They are made with Ranger texture paste and Distress Stain
that was mixed together, and then swirled on the paper.
In hindsight, I should have hid the crease at the top of the card with a cloud,
but I was worried about the top getting smooshed in the envelope.

That's all for now.
Thanks for stopping by.

love life

Hey Everyone!
Today I have a fun little card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.

From the inspiration board above,
I created this fun card inspired by the red watering can.

The idea for this card came from a fun fact that I had read
that a bee could lift more than half of their weight in nectar.
My bee has chosen to help the birds out with a great shower.
The stamps that I used for this card are listed below.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

celebrate today

Hey everyone !
Getting my paws inky today with a card for the

This time we have a color challenge with a lovely choice of colors.
When I saw theses colors only one stamp set popped into my head.

I started out by creating a shaped card for the base of the card.
I stamped my flowers and colored them in using the suggested colors.
Then die cut the flowers out using the coordinating dies.
A  foam backer helps to make my flower wreath pop up.

Hope your week is a good one.

Driving me wild!

Hey Everyone
This one is for my Husband.
Not because it's an Anniversary or a birthday.
This is because he is literally driving me wild with his crazy
mid-life "my kids don't call me" antics.
So what's a wife to do?
Go in her happy girl space,
Make a card and enter it in the
Lawn Fawnatics Challenge
Black, White, and Bright

So much for sympathy
He will be OK.  Guys work things out different then us girls.
When I am finished with this post I will make him a nice dinner and all will be well.

Thanks so much!

Hey everyone!
Coming to you today with a card for the LawnFawnatics Challenge.
Black, White, and Bright!
For this challenge, A shaped card. I LOVE shaped cards.
I think we all should do more shaped cards.
Although, sometimes technically challenging a shaped card
is always, in the end interesting and different.

It's a simple card but, the pop of color is what makes it stand out.
For this card I brought out an old friend to add some small details.
Crackle Accents!

Remember him?
I love the way this looks when it is dry.
The more you put on the better the texture.
Just a quick simple card for this rainy day.

New York and a Whole Lot of Color.

 Hey Everyone!
I had a whole lot of fun with this Wednesday's Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp
with Newtons Nook Stamps!
As my husband is fond of saying
"there is a whole lot of crazy color in that creative head."
I think he means it in a good way?? Or because it always takes
no less than 4 Distress inks to make color happen on a project.
I think that this card qualifies for his statement.

SO.... I had this card floating around in my head for awhile, you know how that goes.
Finally, I had some quiet time to just let the mind create. That is when this card came pouring out.

There are a total of 9 colors of Distress ink used in the color of this card.
10 if you count the Tarnished Brass Distress Stain at the top of the building and on the torch.
but who's counting...
Snacks can influence your color choice, so be wise on what you eat.
Shaded Lilac Distress Ink is a favorite of mine, and a underused color in the Distress Pallet
in my humble oppion. A great blending color for all the others in the background.
Stamp set is "Newton Dreams of New York "from Newtons Nook Stamps
 And.... that's all I have.

Digging it.

Hey everyone !
Coming at you today with a
little something for the TAG YOUR IT! challenge.
Just got the "Garden Whimsy" stamp set from Newtons Nook Stamps
and this seemed like the perfect challenge to ink up this CUTE new set.

I completely forgot how much fun tags are to make.
I love that ALL of the paper from this tag came from scraps in my Recycle bin.
Of course, my tag has to have lots of color from Distress Ink with a
focus on the main colors that guest designer Kim used.
Once again Stamps are from Newtons Nook and there is a link below

I have a thing for snails.

Most people find them slimy annoying garden chompers

There is just something fascinating about snails that I just love.
The idea for this tag came when I was gardening, no surprise there.

Baby snail is graduating to a bigger shell.
  It's a snail-o-bration!
(had to go there)
The concept of the tag is simple. Single dimension stamping
with distress ink water coloring.

All items on the tag are from Lawn Fawn.
The stamps used are listed below.

What's the Buzz

Hey Everyone!

Coming to you today with a card for
The Inky Paws Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
All about the Doily this time.
Check out how this one was created.
First we started off by stiffing up the Doily.
A simple mix of Distress Ink and Mod Podge does the job.

Next the stamping for the Flowers.

The rest was simple, add whole lot of color and Glossy accents are a must.

Just some cute bee's hanging out at the hive

Your a Star

Hey Everyone.
Coming at you today with a card for the the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge.
When I have time, I love to mess with the ideas that float around in my head.
This card idea was something I had floating around for awhile and
the outcome was going to be awesome or never to be seen again.
Fortunately, this card ended up in the awesome pile.
For the start of this card we stared out with some basic stamping and coloring.

Followed by a HEAVY coat of Glossy far pretty normal.

Here is were it gets dangerous. I chose to drop and splat ink all over my card,
including on top of the image and I do mean all over!

MY hope ( and it worked...yea!) the Glossy Accents would seal in the the stamp portion of my card.
OK... I will type it. I LOVE the way this turned out.
The stamped image is bold, and the color splat on the card came out looking real cool.
Kinda hard to see, but I color washed the background of the card with "Faded Jeans" Distress Ink.
Finished the card with some added sparkle in the stars.

Some things to know.
I stamp my images with Versamark, and emboss with clear embossing powder.
This leave a small raised edge, so that I can seal over the raised edge with the Glossy Accents.
Make sure to let the Glossy Accents dry all the way, so that have the least amount
of bleeding from underneath the image.
I used Distress Ink for my color wash and my drop color.
Stamps used are listed below
I hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for stopping by.
