Inky Paws Challenge - Create a Scene

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

I decided to have A LOT of fun with this challenge.

Check out my shaped card.

I was flipping through my idea book and came across the sketch I made

a year ago, for this card and I decided to give the sketch a try for the challenge.

The dinosaur is from the “Tea Rex” Stamp Set.

He is chilling in a city made up from the

Newton Dreams of New York

and
Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Sets

The base of the card is created using the Circle Frames Die Set.

I die cut out 2 of the Scalloped Edge Circle Die and chopped of a bit of the bottom of one.

I colored in the bottom part with my alcohol inks, this became the “ground”

When I assemble the card, the card did not feel large enough for the scene.

I ended adding on a basic circle die behind the Circle Frame Die to make the card balance.

To finish of my card, I used my favorite banner from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

I used my alcohol markers to color in the banner and stamped on the sentiment

that is part of the Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set.

I also decided to pop a few items up with foam tape to

give my card that dimension I was looking for.

I had a blast bringing my sketch to life and

I hope this inspires you to CREATE A SCENE!

blog hop

Newton's Nook Designs Send Uplifting Smiles Blog Hop!

Hello, and welcome to my little spot on the blog hop. For those who do not know me, my name is Diane Morales I am on the Inky Paws Challenge Team and this is my FIRST BLOG HOP EVER!
the Send Uplifting Smiles Blog Hop! What is the goal of this hop? To help brighten your day with uplifting and encouraging cards that will make you smile!
I know that everybody is stuck at home.
Creating and sending cards is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends near and far.
Cardmaking is also way to relax and detox from all unbelievable events that are going on in the world.

Here is my contribution to the hop.

Sending Uplifting Smiles Blog Hop by Diane Morales using Snow Globe Scenes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I am an essential worker; I work for Kroger. I cannot tell you how many people have left me a DM or sent a card to check on me during this time. Words cannot express how thankful I am for all those encouraging messages and cards.
Those simple acts of kindness kept me going during uncertain times.
MY card features a re-cycled holiday Stamp Set Snow Globe Scenes. Peeping out behind the buildings is the Land Boarders Die Set (a personal favorite of mine) and a couple of fluffy clouds from the Sky Scene Builder Die Set.

I colored in my buildings in the color of a rainbow, a reminder that better days are ahead!
My Sentiment come from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set. A reminder that YOU make the world a nicer place! WE as card makers can do our part to make the world a nicer place! Go to your crafty space, make some cards! They do not have to be elaborate or challenge worthy, just something that comes from the heart. Place your card in the brightest colored envelope that you can find and mail that card off!
I guarantee that you are going to brighten up someone’s day.

Thanks SO much for stopping by.

Diane

Newton's Snowman IPC 113

Happy Monday!
Today is the start of a NEW
 INKY PAWS CHALLENGE!
With THREE weeks for you to play along.
To end the year, we have a COLOR challenge for you!

With Christmas right around the corner,
 I came up with
a quick and easy tag using the challenge colors.

I stared by die cutting out a basic tag shape.
I  lightly sprayed Peacock Feather and Twisted Citron Distress Ink on my craft mat.
Then smashed my tag shape on the ink to create my background.

While the tag was drying, I colored my kitty and snowman from
I used the challenge colors and a pop of red and orange on the bird
and snowman to add some interest.

With the tag now dry, I stamped my sentiment from the
At the bottom of my tag
I die cut out my stamped image and attached it to my tag with foam tape.
To add the silver part of the challenge colors,
I glued on some silver snowflakes from my stash.

So simple to make, this tag took my maybe a half hour to do.
I hope that you liked my take on the challenge colors.
Now it is your turn to play along.
