July Feature - Newton's Nook Designs

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

Coming to you today with a fun and delightful summer card.

I LOVE shaped cards.

For this card I started off with one of my favorite shaped dies, Frames Squared Die.

I used the Scalloped Edge Square from this die set, to make my card base out of yellow cardstock.

The Small Rounded Edge Square to make my card front out of white card stock.

I also used the Small Rounded Edge Square Die cut to die cut a piece

of the striped paper form the Birthday Meows Paper Pad.

Making the stripped edge is easy.

After die cutting the striped paper, I lined the paper up between the

perforation and sliced the paper on the diagonal with my paper cutter.

Then I cleaned up the edge and glued this on a corner of my card front.

To finish my card, I assembled my card base and attached my card front on top.

My stamp set of choice is Newton’s Birthday Delights.

My neutrally colored kitties are complemented by bright colors of sherbet ice cream.

To assemble my card, I stamped on the sentiment to the blank corner.

My stamped image is added to the front of the card with foam tape.

For a final addition, three matching enamel dots.

Thanks so much for visiting and sharing this fun card with me.

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Release - Day 2

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

Welcome to day one of our July Release in celebration of our 10-year Birthday!!

🎉(cue the confetti)🎉

For our second day of our celebration, we have 3 AMAZING NEW products

for you to get your Paw’s Inky with!

Let me tell you it was hard not to show this cuteness to everybody!!!

Using the NEW product, I created the following card.

A shaped card was necessary for the Birthday Barks Stamp Set.

I created a shaped card using the Largest oval from the

Oval Frames Die Set and Navy Blue Cardstock.

The NEW Birthday Woofs 6x6 Paper Pad is so incredible!

I just love the colors used in this paper pad.

I chose the blue presents in the paper pack to be my card front.

I used the same oval die to cut the piece of cardstock out before attaching it to my card base.

To complete my card front, I used white cardstock

and the scalloped oval from the Oval Frames Die Set.

There are three PUNNY sayings in the Birthday Barks Stamp Set.

The sentiment that I chose pairs well with the Banner Trio Dies.

Once my sentiment was placed on the card front, I attached my image on top with foam tape

The balloons from the stamp set are so cute and needed to be on this card.

I finished this card with a swish of my sparkle pen on my image

and squirts of Stickles on my balloons.

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Release - Day 3

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

Welcome to day one of our July Release in celebration of our 10-year Birthday!!

🎉(cue the confetti)🎉

For our third day of our celebration, we have 3 AMAZING NEW products

for you to get your Paw’s Inky with!

Using the NEW product, I created the following cards

I had the best time with these foil plates!

The first thing I did was find the glitteriest foil I could get my hands on... Speckled Prism.

Using the color story in the Birthday Meows Paper Pad,

I came up with pink, yellow and purple as my color choices.

Using the Confetti Hot Foil Plate, I added Speckled Prism foil to each cardstock.

The results were amazing! and I knew how to finish this card.

I love color block and using the A7 Frames and Banner Die Set

made the pieces for this card are super easy!

Once everything was glued into place on a card base, I finished all the other details.

Using the NEW Birthday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and the Banner Duo Die Set,

I had a sentiment for the front of my card in no time.

To finish this card, I added a few matching gems I had in my stash!

For the second card we went with color blocking again.

This time using the color story from the Birthday Woofs Paper Pad.

I glued a 2-inch strip of colored paper onto a white cardstock.

Next, using the Paw Print Foil Die, I added on the gold foil paw prints.

My go die set will always be the Frames and Flags Die Set.

Using this die set, die cut a card base and card front with the paw prints on it.

Finishing this card with the NEW Birthday Barks Stamp Set was a MUST!

To finish this card, I added a splash of neutral white by creating

a banner made with the Banner Trio Die and a sentiment from Birthday Barks .

I also added a dash sparkle pen to my images.

Would you like to win the “Paw Print” Hot Foil Plate?

This foil set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Newton's Nook Designs Birthday Release - Day 1

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

Welcome to day one of our July Release in celebration of our 10-year Birthday!!

Also, my 1st official post as part of the design team!

(cue the confetti)

For our first day of our celebration

we have 3 AMAZING NEW products for you to get your Paw’s Inky with!

Let me tell you it was hard not to show this cuteness to everybody!!!

Using the NEW product, I created the following card.

I am obsessed with the NEW Birthday Meows Paper Pad.

The colors and paper patterns in the pad are so dreamy!

I kept this card simple with a card base of raspberry cardstock.

On top of that a 2 ½ inch strip of the confetti dot cardstock.

The oval from the Oval Frames Die Set Is cut out of two layers white card stock,

and serves as a background for the extremely cute 3-layer cake image from

Newton’s Birthday Delight.

I used the confetti stamp in Newton’s Birthday Delight to add interest around the oval.

To finish my card, I used the banner from Slimline Frames and Windows Die

This is a perfect fit for the sentiment from Newton’s Birthday Delight.

After a swish of my sparkle pen on the image and a couple of enamel dots, this card is done.

Newton Nook Design Team

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Diane Morales, and I am the newest member of The Newton’s Nook Design Team.

A bit about me: I currently live in Beaverton Oregon with my husband and a tribe of 4 cats.

I started my card making journey in 2012 when a friend invited me to a class she was teaching.

I was hooked on paper ever since that day!!!

My love of all thing’s cats and cardmaking led me to search the internet for cat stamps.

I came across Newton’s Nook Designs and the “Newton's Antics” Stamp Set, and it was LOVE at first sight.

I started to participate in the Inky Paw’s Challenge and continue

to learn more about the craft of cardmaking and stamping.

In 2017 I got an email offering me a spot on the Inky Paw’s Challenge team and for

the last 6 years I have been proving inspiration and ideas to the internet viewing audience.

What is my style?

I love color

I love Printed Paper

I LOVE shaped cards

Sometimes all of that with a dash of glitter!

Speaking of cards, here is a card I created for my first official post.

I keep a pull-out drawer with a whole bunch of crafty shapes made from scrapes.

I use this drawer for motivation when my crafty mojo is low.

One night I was rummaging through this drawer and came across this circle card base with blue stripe

The card base is made from the Circle Frames Die.

That is when this idea hit for this fun beachy card!

The card front is made from the Scalloped circle in the Circle Frames Die

that is die cut out from the Summertime 6x6 Paper Pad.

My featured stamp in Newton’s Seashell.

A quick hand cut banner, and once everything is layered onto the card with foam tape.

Of course, I had to bling things up a bit with glitter pen on the shell.

In closing a HUGE THANK YOU!!!!

To Jeff and Jennifer from Newton’s Nook Designs for believing me for all these years

and allowing me the opportunity to work with your AMAZING stamps.

SUPER EXCITED to show you all the projects that I have coming up.

Thank you for stopping by

Stay crafty

Inky Paw's Challenge 201 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Kitten Beach

Summertime 6x6 Paper Pad

Circle Frames Die Set

  Summer is here!

Time to get those beachy vibes onto a card.

Started this card by creating a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ card base made from yellow cardstock.

I also created a 3 ½ x 4 ½ rectangle of the same yellow cardstock to be my card front.

I cut a of 2 ½ wide of the stripped cardstock from Summertime 6x6 Paper Pad

and placed that at the bottom of the rectangle.

I cut a strip of 1 ½ of the palm tree paper from the same paper pad, on top of the stripes.

To create my feature, I die cut the 3 ½ circle form the Circle Frames Die Set.

Using the shells from the kitten beach stamp set and

Lost Shadow Distress Ink, I stamped out a background design on the circle.

I stamped, colored and die cut my kitten from Kitten Beach.

I placed my image in the circle with foam tape.

After gluing my circle to the front of the card, I stamp on my sentiment.

The sentiment is heat set with white embossing powder.

In place of the bow on the sketch I used a couple of enamel dots to complete my card.

I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration for your next project.
