Hug in a Mug Card

Hello Newton Fans!

On the blog today with a crafty coffee theme card!

I started this card off by stamping the
Coffee Delights Stamp Set on to white cardstock.

I stamped 4 images vertically and then heat set with white embossing powder.

Next, I chose my Distress Ink colors that I wanted to have on the front of my card.

Carved Pumpkin, Peacock Feathers, and Prize Ribbon.

For each one of the distress colors I smushed the pad

onto my craft mat and added a spritz of water.

Using a paint brush, I brushed over the embossed area revealing the image.

I repeated the process with each color to create my card front.

This card front must dry completely before going on to the next step.

While the card front was drying, I used the 3-inch stitched heart from the

Heart Frames Die Set and die cut out this heat using white card stock.

Using the A Hug in a Mug Die Set I die cut my background in white card stock

and my lettering in pumpkin orange cardstock.

I adhered both pieces together and put them aside so the glue could set up.

With my card front now dry, I die-cut this out using the A7 Frames and Banners Die.

I also created a card base with the same die.

Assembling this card is easy.

With the A7 card front and base together, I attached the stitched heart

to the front of my card over the image.

Next, I centered my word die over the heart.

I attached this die to the heart foam tape.

For a last touch I used, matching orange Stickles on

top of the letters to add some sparkle.

I hope you try this technique in your card making!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stay craft everyone!

Newton's Nook Designs December Release - Day 2

Hello Everybody

It is day TWO of our NEW Release!

Today we are sharing

Charming Hearts Frame Die

Using this die I created this card.

With Valentine's card making I always feel you can be a bit extra!

To start this card off I used the Charming Hearts Frame Die

and I cut a piece out of each of these card stocks.

White glitter, Pale pink, Burgundy, and Red.

Now all I had to do was put the pieces of the puzzle together to make the card front.

I decided to use the white glitter card stock as the base.

I glued this down to a piece of white card stock to make a background.

Next, I pieced in the hearts using the other colors of cardstock that I cut out.

Once I was done, I trimmed around the Lovely Hearts Paper Pad and my card front was done.

created a card base came next, using burgundy card stock slightly larger than

the scalloped die from the A7 Frames and Banners Die Set.

I chose my paper from Lovely Hearts Paper Pad and used the A7 scallop die to cut this out.

I assembled my card base pieces together and then popped up the

charming hearts panel on the front of the card with foam tape.

To add a bit of flair to the card I used metallic red card stock and the "love" die that is included with

Charming Hearts Frame Die

I cut out the “love” three times and stacked it on top of each other.

I finished this card by adding my love to the front and a bit of clear sequins to add some accents.

Hope you enjoyed my take on these fun new products!

All these new products will be available. Friday, December 13

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Day 1

Hello Everybody

We have an amazing June release!

These new products will keep you buzzing with excitement

First my new favorite shaped die!

The Hexagon Frames Die will step up your shaped card game.

Also, for those hot foil plate lovers, the NEW Honey Honeycomb Hot Foil plate with dies.

Using these two latest items I created this card.

As you can see, I went GOLD for this card!

I started this card by creating a base for this card using craft card stock.

For the card front I used gold card stock.

My favorite metallic card stock comes from Michaels, this cardstock is a little bit thicker weight

and it does not scratch as easily when going through the die cut machine.

I used the scalloped hexagon in the new die set to create that gold card front.

Next, using The Honeycomb Hot Foil Plate with gold foil, and white card stock

I foiled up my next layer for the card. In typical Diane fashion,

I was so excited about the foil that I forgot to take pictures.

Once the foil was cooled, I die cut the foil honeycombs out with the stitch hexagon die.

Next, I used black foil on white card stock and foiled a swarm of bees.

I colored those bees using traditional colors.

I also created a banner with black card stock and the banner from the A7 Frames and Die Set.

The sentiment on this banner comes from Heartfelt Honeycomb Stamp Set

which we will talk about in a minute.

I placed my banner on the front of my card with foam tape and added my bees.

To finish this card, I used Disco Ball Stickles for the wings on the bees.

Also added gold enamel dots from my stash.

I just love this new hexagon die!

The honeycomb hot foil plate is so much fun and great for so many backgrounds for on the cards.

Also included in this release is the Heartfelt Honeycomb Stamp Set.

This stamp set is so much fun.

Of course, I had to make it a shaped card using the Heart Frames Die Set.

To start this card, I started with a card base of red card stock.

I stamped out the honeycomb stamp and then used the

scalloped die in the Heart Frames Die Set to die cut it out my stamped image.

I also die cut out the drippy honey and bees.

Since this is just black and white I decided to go wild on this card!

I also did this card in reverse

I stamped my sentiment and die cut it out with the Banner Duo Die.

I added this banner to my card 1st with foam tape.

Next, I decided on the placements of my drippy honey and

colored in the honeycombs that will be behind my drippy honey.

I added on my drippy honey pieces just above those colored

in honeycomb and then I added on my bees popped up with foam tape.

To make this card really stand out I used Golden Stickles on my honeycomb and drippy honey.

On the bee’s wings I used Disco Ball Stickles.

I also used Disco Ball Stickles to add a little bling in the honeycombs around the drips.

This concludes my take on the products from day one.

This and all the other new products will be available on Friday June 21st.

A Llama Birthday

 Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

Diane Morales here sharing a Llama good Birthday card for Designer’s Nook.

So many birthdays this time of year for our family.

Today I am sharing a fun birthday card I created for a very special

Birthday using a few of my favorite Newtons Nook Product.

For this card I used

Lovable Llamas

Birthday Mice (hat only)

Birthday Party 6x6 Paper Pad

A7 Frames and Banner

Bookmark Die (banner only)

To start this card, I used the frame in the A7 Frames and Banner

To die cut 3 frames out of white cardstock.

Once cut, I glue the three frames together and place them aside with weight on to dry.

Thie idea for this card was to inset the printed cardstock into each window.

The pops of color coming from the windows and everything else to be neutral.

The hardest part of the card is choosing the paper that I wanted to use.

the Birthday Party 6x6 Paper Pad became the paper pad of choice.

But which color??

Thumbing through the pad I came across a slice of the confetti paper that you see in the middle.

I love the colors and that gave me the spark for the layout of the card.

I used the frame in the A7 Frames and Banner to die cut out the paper I chose.

I also created a card base that was slightly larger than the white frame what I created.

The first thing was to glue the frame that I created to the card base.

Next, I added the confetti pieces to the middle part of the frame.

The blue ballon on the left.

The yellow presents on the right.

These pieces are inset, so I glued the back and wiggled them in.

Stamping, coloring, and die cutting images from Lovable Llamas came next.

I used the colors from the cardstock to color the image.

I used black, gray, and white to color the Llama and the extras.

I attached all these pieces to the front of the card with foam tape.

The Llama needed a bit extra.

I started thumbing through my Newton’s stamps and decided on the party hat

From Birthday Mice that fits so well on the Llamas Head.

For a final touch I used the banner from the Bookmark Die.

I die cut the banner first.

Stamped my sentiment

Then I ran the banner back through the die to shorten the banner to fit on the card.

I also added tiny gems in the confetti panel for a touch of sparkle.

That is my card!

 Thanks for stopping by

Hope you have an awesome day

Stay crafty my friends!
