Farmyard Friends IPC 96

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge!

For my second half inspiration I used the MOO and OINK Stamp Sets
and came up with this fun farmyard card!

 I love a shaped card!
This one was so simple.
Stamp and die cut the Cow, Pig and Hay.
Color in the images using colored pencils.
Next, create a round card from whatever die or machine you have in your stash.
For my background “sky” I chose to use a light blue cardstock
that I colored in with my watercolor pencils.

I mixed the colors together with my finger and a little water.
Then, die cut out the fence from the FENCE DIE SET.
Trim down the fence to the correct size for your card.
Finally, assemble all the elements on the card and added a sentiment!

I had a great time creating this card and
I hope it inspires you to take some time
and create something fun to share!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmic Newton IPC 96

Today starts a NEW Inky Paw’s Challenge!
Are you ready for this one?

Colored pencils are not an art item that I use often.
This challenge gave me an opportunity to purchase a more professional
set of watercolor pencils.
To really give colored pencils a try and learn something new.
I also had an idea for a project using a technique that I learned as a kid.
I think we used to call it scratch art.

This all starts with the background.
Place your paper on TOP of your stencil.
My stencil of choice is the Cloudy Sky Stencil.
Tape the stencil and the paper down with washi so there is no lateral movement
Then, just start coloring over the top of the stencil with your pencil.
When I first thought of this idea to use the stencil this way I was so
hoping this idea would turn out the way I planned.
The reveal of clouds was better that I expected!

I tried different types of colored pencils from Crayola and Michaels.
Those worked well but left more pencil lines.
To finish my project, I chose the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set
For the clouds that the space ship is bursting thru comes from the

All my images on this card use watercolor pencil from Arteza.
I had a great time crafting this card and I hope this inspires you to get crafty!

Friends Fur-ever IPC 95

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge!
What a fun sketch we have for you to work with!

For my inspiration I just went all in!

Friends Fur-ever a card by Diane Morales | Puppy Pals Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

When I’m in a crafty rut, I create backgrounds.
This helps me to wake up my creativity.
  I created this background using
the PLAID STENCIL SET and Texture Paste.

I felt that this would be the perfect background for the idea I had in my head.
THE PUPPY PALS STAMP SET is my set of choice for this card.
This set would add a fun touch to the
masculine card I was going for.

With two of the elements in place, I turn my attention to the banner element.
For this, I chose the FANCY EDGES TAG DIE.
I cut out the banner used the pointed bottom edge that came with the die.
Then, I just chopped off the top!  Instant banner!

The background element of the sketch was a happy accident!
I was playing with the FRAMEWORKS DIE SET.
I noticed that the off cut of the Large Postage Edge Rectangle was interesting.
In my mind, I thought it would make an interesting edge.

Turns out that was a YES!
I stamped my sentiment at the top of my banner.
Assembled my card together and added in the two hearts at the bottom for flair.

Now that my card is done, I can’t wait to see what everyone else come up with!
Use the link in the challenge picture to show us your projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
 Have a great week.

Have a Mice Day IPC 95

Time for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!

We have a such fun sketch for you to play with.
OK… full disclosure. I did have to stare at this sketch
for a while to figure out how to work with it.

Have a Mice Day a card by Diane Morales | Garden Mice Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Deisgns

I stamped out and colorized the mouse from the Garden Mice Stamp Set.
That is when the whole card came together.
I love the way the flower color came out, so I decided to
base my colors for this project on this flower.
I went into the paper stash came out with this amazing patterned paper for the background.
I also matched burnt orange and sand colored cardstock to go with the patterned paper.
With the paper choices made, it was all about the assembly.
The sand colored cardstock was cut out using the
Large Postage Edge Rectangle from the Frameworks Die Set
The inside element printed paper was die cut from the Curved Edge Rectangle
Burnt orange cardstock became the across element behind the banner.
The main element is piece of white cardstock that is hand cut into a banner.
When I assembled the whole card, I thought the white banner
was just… plain!
Then I noticed the flowers on the printed paper closely matched
the flowers on the Bold Blooms Stencil.
I ran the banner and stencil thru my die cut machine using
my embossing pad and was very happy with the results!

For a final touch, I added twine and a tag with my sentiment to the top of the banner.

I had a blast figuring out all the different elements of the card.
I am SUPER excited to see what everyone is going to create with this sketch.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great week.
