Anything Goes - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here is my take on this challenge.

Thumbing through my Tim Holtz stash for this challenge,

I Came upon the Snarky Cat and the Crazy Things Stamp Set.

The most perfect crazy idea came to mind.

Snarky Cat as an Easter Bunny!

 To start, I colored my Snarky Cat and extras… a lot of extras!

I kept the colors very spring like and bright.

For the background I used the Bubbling Thinlits Die

 and Kitsch Flamingo and Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

Ink blending right over the top of the die cut and onto some cream cardstock.

 I just love the results!

The variation of purple the that blend of the two colors created is everything!

Finally, I assembled all my pieces on top of the background.

 I used fun foam here and there to prop things up.

To finish I add on one of the statement sentiments that came in the Stamp Set.

I also add drops of Glossy Accents and Gel Pen for texture.

That completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

Inky Paw's Challenge 142 - Watercolors Challenge

 

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For some people watercolor can be very intimidating.

Here is a way that you can keep it simple and have a cool looking card.

I used the Caffeinated Cats 4x6 Stamp and Versamark Ink.

I stamped my image and heat set with WHITE embossing powder.

Once the image was cool to the touch, I grabbed my watercolor pan.

  

I quick swipe of the brush over the stamped image and I had a background.

While my background was drying, I stamped out NEW Newton’s Mug Stamp Set.

Look at the shape of that mug……LOVE!!

I colored in my image and added on a sentiment.

With all the colors have going on, I decided to prop my image up on a

circle die cut from the Circle Frames Die Set.

to finish my card, I die cut my water-colored panel from

 the largest scalloped die from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

Favorite Technique - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week we are using our Favorite Technique

Featuring products by My Favorite Things

Here is my take on this challenge.

I LOVE Die Cutting

It is my jam and my go-to.

I used the Stitched Banner and the Trio Window Die

by Simon Says Stamp to start my card.

my stamp set of choice is the Missing You Every Day Clear Stamp.

I just love those cute little critters and they fit perfect in the die cut squares.

 The Happy Trails 6x6 paper pack is my background paper.

I was going for more of a masculine card and the

 primary colors in the paper stack are a great chose for this.

I finished out this card by adding my banner to a custom size card base.

I embossed on a sentiment and some hearts from the 

Sizzix Lovestruck Sequins and Beads Tube.

For a final touch I went “old School” by adding a little Glossy Accents here and there.

That completes my take on the Favorite Technique

Inky Paws Challenge - Watercolor Challenge

 

HAPPY MONDAY!

Who is ready for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge?

Here is my take on the challenge.

I am more of a Distress Ink watered down kind of watercolor person.

Using Rustic Wilderness and Salty Ocean to create my background.

I wish I could say there was a long hard process to create this background.

NOPE!  Take the Distress Ink pad color of your choice, 

smoosh it down on a paint pallet, add water and squish the paper on top.

Each time I do this technique, I just love the way the 

color migrates and creates a unique look.

 I usually keep a bunch of these background handy when I need a quick card. 

It is VERY IMPORTAIN to make sure the paper is dry before you work with it.

To finish out my card I used Circle Frames Die to create a round card.

My featured Stamp Set is the NEW way too cute Smitten Kittens Stamp Set.

Just a simple card to complete my take on the watercolor challenge.

Slimline Card - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

 

This week we are making a SLIMLNE CARD

Featuring products by LDRS CREATIVE

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash?

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

When I saw the Slimline Droplet Pocket Die by LDRS I fell in love.

What I did not realize is that the die is a mini slimline die.

No worries! I would just make my card base a little bit larger to make up for it.

Since the droplets on the die are so large, I wanted created a

 card base that had a bit of texture.

Simple stamping on some Slate Gray Card Stock should work.

To do this, I used the leaves from the Look for the Rainbows Stamp Set and Versamark Ink.

I wanted the Slimline Droplet Pocket Die to stand out. 

I went with Sea Glass Card Stock.

I cut out the die twice and glued the pieces together to create a nice solid layer.

I finished out my card by creating a banner with the Stitched Banner Dies

 and sentiment from the Love Greeting Mix Stamp Set.

 I also added the large flower from the Look for the Rainbows Stamp Set.

To add a bit of shimmer when the card is turned,

I grabbed my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen.

That completes my take on the SLIMLINE CARD challenge.
