Winstons Birthday IPC 52

Hey Everyone!
Coming at you to day with a post for the current
Inky Paws Challenge.
It's a sketch Challenge for you to get your Paws inky with.
Sketch challenges are always the hardest for me.
My brain always thinks of a million different ways to configure the sketch
but this time, I took a different approach.

Winstons Birthday by Diane Morales | Winson's Birthday Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

I purchased the "Winston's  Birthday" stamp set awhile ago.
Quite honestly because I liked all the little stamps in the set.
I got to thinking,
"what if  I was to use those little stamps elements as the focus of the card"
That's when it hit me.
Embossing It!

I "versamarked" those cut little accessory stamps on to white paper,
and emboss over with clear embossing powder.
Added color over that, in my case Distress ink.
It is a leap of faith, when you do this style of inking
because this could turn into a crafty re-do real quick.
This case all was well !
I'm in love with the way it turn out, and
The Tiny stamps in this Stamp set inspired
some other cards that I will share later.

That's all for now!
I hope this inspires you to get out that
embossing pad and get your paws inky!

As always, links are below.
Thanks for dropping by.

Reach for the Stars sssw

Hello to everyone.

I have a quick post for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
This week it all about the STARS.
What better way to celebrate the stars then by using the cute new
stamp set by Newtons Nook Designs
"Cosmic Newton"
and
background STARS layering stencil from
Stampers Anonymous

I was messing around with product one day,
and created the background for this card first.
I inked the stencil in on the card base first.

I thought it looked boring, so I grabbed my jar of Ranger Texture Paste
and smeared a good coat on top of the stenciled image.
Just for extra sparkle I add some Rock Candy glitter on top of the Texture Paste.
Not only did the glitter stay but it dried in the Texture Paste
and created a cool Sparkly Texture.

I thought it looked cool, but I did not finish the card
till the "Cosmic Newton" Stamp Set came out.
Newton in the space ship and the shooting stars was
the perfect Image to finish this card.
Hope you enjoyed the card
Thanks for stopping by.

Seas the Day IPC #51

Hey Everyone!

Diane here with some inspiration for our current challenge over at

The Inky Paws Challenge

In case you did not know it is all about the

TROPICAL THEME

For this card I went a little crazy
This look complicated, but it just A LOT of layering.

Seas the Day Card by Diane Morales | Tranquil Tides Stamp Set By Newtons Nook Designs

As you can see below, I taped off part of my card with leftovers from a die-cut.
The background is simply Distress Ink and a sample of watercolor that is mixed together.
No exact way to do this. I used a Dabber to put down the base color.
When that was semi dry, I just splashed the color on top of that see what developed.

When that part was dry, I just started to layer all the Pieces
that I had inked and die cut from the Tranquil Tide Stamp Set.
If you can, get the die-cut with this set.
The dies really help to showcase all the cool detail of this Stamp Set.
Then I stamped in the sentiment and busted into the stash, and grabbed the Stickles
to add a finishing touch of bling to the card.
I had a Blast with this card. Deciding all the colors of this card was the hard part.
I hope that this encourages you to get your paws inky.
 Stamp sets are listed below.
Bye for now!

Tropical Tiki Time IPC#51

Hey everyone!

It's Inky Paws Challenge Time
Perfect for summer weather we are having a
TROPICAL THEME
For this card I got to bring out my old friends.

 THE TIKI'S

This was one of those cards that I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I am a huge fan of Kraft Paper.
Kraft paper and bright colors are awesome!
Some die cut palm trees from " the stash"
and
a quick shuffle thru my collection of embossing folders,
to add some texture to the plain background.
Such a fun card to make!
I highly encourage you to break into you stash.
Mess around with texture and color.
That what I did for this card with amazing results.
Thanks for dropping by.
Now go and Get your Paws INKY
Links and Stamp Sets are listed below.
 Bye for now

Live in the sunshine IPC #50

Hey Everyone!

Diane here with some Inspiration for the current

 Inky Paws Challenge

This is one of those cards that stared on a whim.
Not sure where it was going to go. Not sure how it was going to get there.
I stared out with a basic water colored background and a shaped card.
The colors in this challenge that got me thinking,
and led a colorful set of palm trees.

Find your Paradise IPC #50

Hey Everyone!
So excited to share this special card with you today for
The Inky Paws Challenge
This card is special, because it is my first card for the
Inky Paws Inspiration Team!
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to be on the team for my favorite stamp company.
Totally a "pinch me moment".
When I started this journey 2 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing.
The Stamp store that used to teach Die-Cutting and scarpbooking in
closed down and I was totally bummed out.
I had dabbled in card making, when my husband was deployed in the military.
 And then along came Instagram.
I was checking out all the cool cards everyone was making,
and I decided to give it another try.
Flash forward two years and here we are.

Find your Paradise card by Diane Morales Using Paradise Palms Stamp Set

For this card I kept it simple.
I love the colors in this challenge and
I wanted to make sure that they were the focus of the card.

The background is color smashed.
The stamp image is embossed over the color.
I  always use black ink and clear embossing powder.
I finished the card with a smear (literally) of Stickles for a little added shimmer.
The one helpful hint that I could offer when doing this kind of card, is to make
sure your background ink is dry before you stamp and emboss over the top.
This will avoid any crafty redo's

This is a simple card,  great for even a beginning card maker.
Super quick, if you need a card in a hurry.

Love You Tons.

Hey Everyone!
Today I have a card for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge
This one is right up my alley

WATERCOLOR

Did they read my mind? Watercolor just happens to be one of my favorite things.
When watercolor becomes the focus on the card,
you don't need a lot of extras to make a card work .
Less is more is the key.

The idea from this one came from watching a commercial about this cute elephant family.
The background for this card is Distress Ink that is water colored in a lot of layers.
I kept the colors are very muted, like you find in a dry Serengeti.
I had a TON( get it) of fun creating the backround for this card.
I was nice to just color and see where the color takes you.

Thanks for stopping by.
