of my stamped pieces using some of my go to colors.

Next, I die cut out a card front from the Slimline Nesting Die by Simon Say Stamp.

The rest is simple.

I arranged my octopus around the card until I liked what I saw.

Propped some of the tentacles up with foam tape.

added on a sentiment.

Finally, I created Created a card base from the same

Inky Paw's Challenge 153 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge

Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this fun card!

First, let’s talk about the Buns Out Mini Stamp Set!

Could this be any cuter and fun?

This card was the first idea I had for this stamp Set.

Of course, it all starts with the background.

I love a shaped card and this one I created by

using the Frames Squared Die Set to create my card base.

I also die cut a separate piece of cardstock to be the card front.

Creating that card front was easy!

The Waves stencil, Salty Ocean, and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

Taping the stencil down to the card front and I inked up the stencil till

I got the right amount of colors in my waves.

I also added a bit of “edge” using the Salty Ocean Distress Ink.

I put the card front aside to dry and turned my attention to all the

components that are going on top of the card front.

A natural choice to go the Buns Out Stamp is the Sky Scene Builder Die.

I die cut the sun from the set and using my Spectrum Noir markers colored the sun in.

I also die cut out clouds.

On one of the clouds, I carefully stamped my sentiment.

I also added a bit of gray shadow so that the clouds will stand out from the background.

To create the background, I simply used the  Decorative Square

in the Frames Squared Die Set and white cardstock.

It is on the square that I stared to build the center element of the sketch.

I started first with a banner from the Frames and Flag Die Set.

Using my markers again, I colored the banner a bright orange.

Finally, came all the other elements, moving things around

until I like the placement of everything.

For the burger and the sun, I added foam tape.

Once everything looked good, I glued everything down

and added my card front to the card base.

my take on this challenge sketch was done.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge sketch and show us your take.

Out With The Old and In With the New - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

We are OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW

Featuring out very own Simon Says Stamp Products

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash,

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

The idea of this challenge is to take something from your Stash (the old)

and pair it up with something NEW that you have acquired.

My NEW item is in the background. The Slimline Waves Stencil.

I placed my stencil on white card stock and with a few swipes of

Antique Linen Distress Oxide a made a cute background to start this card.

To layer on the next part of my card and my something OLD I decided on the

Beautiful Butterflies Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp.

Using Onyx Black Versa Fine Ink I stamped my butterflies over my stenciled image.

Once my ink was dry, I die cut my card base using

The Postage Stamp Edge Frames Die by Simon Says Stamp.

To finish my card I used the Nesting Circle Wafer Dies by Simon Says Stamp

to create a place for my sentiment.

Next, I attached my card front to a card created with Neenah Desert Storm Card Stock.

I also added on some sparkly bits using sequins from

the Autumn Mix Sequins by Simon Says Stamp.

And that completes my take on out with the Old and in with the NEW

Featuring Simon Says Stamp Products

Inky Paw's Challenge 153 - Sketch Challengre

HAPPY MONDAY!

Who is ready for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge?

Check out this challenge!

Using the sketch challenge, I came up with this card.

It is summertime and Newton Spends his time at the shore collecting sea shell.

I love the way the background of this card came out and it was so easy to do.

I started off with the Seashells Stencil, tapping this down to some white cardstock.

I used Broken China, Milled Lavender, Sun Sugar ,

and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink.

I never have a plan, I just inked till I liked what I see.

I also sprayed on white Perfect Pearls that I had in a Mini Mister

Since, the background needed time to dry, I turned my attention to the rest of the elements.

The banner element is from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

I inked this up using Milled Lavender Oxide Ink.

For the square element, I chose a square die from my stash

and using masking paper I just masked off a circle.

I used Broken China Oxide Ink and when the ink was dry,

I just removed the mask and stamped on my sentiment.

Now to assemble the card.

Using the Large Scalloped Rectangle Die from the Frames and Flags Die Set

I die cut out my seashell background.

Next, I added on all the sketch components.

Finally, I added on my featured stamp Newton’s Seashell.

I also added the waterdrop details that comes in the Stamp Set and some bling.

That completes my take on this sketch challenge.

What will you create using this fun sketch?

Emboss It - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

EMBOSS IT

Featuring products by WOW Embossing Products

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

But… If you have some of their product in your stash,

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

I wish that I could say that I planed out this challenge in detail…. NOPE.

This one happened quite organically.

All started by when I decided to swatch out the

WOW embossing powder for this challenge.

Those colors are

Bang

Jealous Guy

And Love is the Drug

I grabbed a sheet of white cardstock and my

Distress Embossing Dauber by Ranger Ink

I love this embossing ink because it works well with all powders, has

that cool dauber head, and it smells like Hot Tamales candy.

I did a quick swipe of the embossing dauber, added powder and heat set.

I liked the results so much that I decided to swipe a second set.

That is when it hit me. This would make a great card!

But how to finish it?

I stared by turning the card into a base using

the Stitched Rectangles Dies by Simon Says Stamp.

I knew that I wanted a larger sentiment something die cut.

Rummaging thru my Simon Die collection, I chose the

Sending Smiles Word and Shadow Die by Simon Says Stamp.

With all this color, black and white was the way to go for this sentiment.

After die cutting out my sentiment, I got ready to assemble my card.

Using Black Black8 Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp I created

a card bottom and attached the front of my card.

I adhered my sentiment together, popped it onto some fun foam,

and added that over my embossed card front .

Finally,  I added a bit of sparkle with silver sequins from the

Rainbow Wishes Sequin Pack by Little Things from Lucy’s Cards.

And that completes my take on EMBOSS IT

Featuring WOW Embossing Products

I almost forgot the good news!
