Inky Paw's Challenge 149 - Color Challenge

 Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Take the above colors and your favorite

Newton’s Nook product and create something to share.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I decide to use the challenge colors a little differently.

I gathered some cardstock that matched the challenge colors and cut them into 1 inch strips.

I attached these strips into a card top and then stamped the strips with

the Easter Lily Stamp Set and Versamark Ink.

Heat setting the image with clear embossing powder gave me an adorable tropical background.

Next, I stamped out my toucans from the Toucan Party Stamp Set.

I decided to color all my foliage using the challenge colors.

To create the wreath behind my toucan I used an unusual choice.

The snow globe top from the Snow Globe Shaker Die Set.

To finish my card, I attached my wreath and toucans to the front of my card with foam tape.

I added on accents with Sickles and a Gel Pen.

Finally, I stamped on my sentiment and created a card base.

That completes my take on this challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Show us your take on this fun challenge.

This week at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

We are featuring our very own Simon Says Stamp Product

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash?

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

My Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit arrived just in time for this challenge.

As I was looking at the “Rainbow is My Favorite Color” Stamp Set

I noticed that this part of the stamp set look like an awfully familiar emoji.

Maybe its just me but, I thought this would make an awesome card!

To start this card, I stamped the sentiment first.

I used the following colors for my HAPPY

Lemon Zest

Orange Slush

Hot Lips

Audrey Blue

Wisteria

All these colors are by Simon Says Stamp

I stared with the yellow and worked my way thru the colors until the HAPPY was inked.

Please note, I did have to wipe the P and the Y of ink before stamping.

Did not want the blue and purple to be muddy in color.

I carefully stamped on my black ink to rest of the sentiment.

I stamped my sentiment onto Simon #120lb white card stock

and set the sentiment with clear embossing powder.

Next, I stamped on the hearts and upside down rainbow above the sentiment.

I also set this with clear embossing powder.

For my final touch I created a card base using Simon Black Black8 Card Stock.

That completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 149 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are starting a NEW challenge this week.

It is color challenge time!

Take the above colors and your favorite

Newton’s Nook product and create something to share.

Here is my take on the challenge.

I was inspired by the challenge picture as you can see.

Let us start with the background.

I created a card base using the large Rounded Edge from the

Frames Squared Die Set.

The mint color and the Serene Stripes Stencil is how I created the base for my card.

I stenciled on my color and splattered on some white paint for texture.

The Cultivated Cacti is my stamp set of choice for this card.

I took color cues directly from the inspiration picture.

Using the rest of the challenge colors to create my vibrant succulents.

Utilizing neutral colors for my planters to make the challenge colors stand out.

I created a place for my sentiment and succulents using the Scalloped Heart

From the Heart Frames Die Set.

For a final touch I added on enamel dots.

That completes my take on these super cute challenge colors.

Now it is your turn.

Show us your take on this fun challenge.

Use Dies and/or Punches - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

We are using DIES AND/OR PUNCHES

Featuring products by MEMORY BOX

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash?

We would LOVE to see them used.

Here is my take on this challenge.

For my card I decided on a die, the Stained Glass Floral Craft Die by Memory Box.

The first thing to do was to select which color of card stock I was using.

After some careful deliberation I came up with

Soft Navy

Audrey Blue

#120 white

and

Lemon Chiffon

All these colors by Simon Says Stamp

I decide to die cut out each of the card stock colors from the floral die.

When I put the die into my machine with the Soft Navy card stock,

the die slid, but the idea for this card was born.

Since I now knew that the front of my card was now going to be Soft Navy,

I started placing all the die-cut colors together like a puzzle until I found

the color combo that stood out the most on the Soft Navy color.

Once I was satisfied with my color idea, I glued my floral die cuts for the front of my

card on white card stock to make it extra rigid.

While I was waiting for my glue to dry, I decided on a sentiment.

What I selected was from the “Hello Darling” Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp.

I embossed this on to the front of my card with white embossing powder.

Next, I attached by floral square at an angle propped up with foam tape.

Final touches, was to create a card base out of white card stock and add some

yellow enamel glitter dots by Doodlebug

Now that the main card is done, I looked around my desk and saw all the leftover.

Why not make some more cards.

FOR THE SECOND CARD

I used the Slime Line Frames and Portholes Die by Newton’s Nook Designs.

I die cut out Soft Navy Card Stock scored and folded this in half.

I add another one of the Floral squares to the front of this card with a sentiment

also, from the Hello Darling Stamp Set.

I filled in the flowers with Frosted Lace Stickles by Ranger Ink.

FOR THE THIRD CARD

I used the Slimline Nested Rectangles by Simon Says Stamp and

Soft Navy Card Stock for the base of my card.

I added the final two floral die squares to the top and bottom of the card.

I filled in the flowers with Frosted Lace Stickles by Ranger Ink.

I decided on a sentiment from the Hello Darling Stamp Set.

Just as I finished heat setting the sentiment on the front of the card, disaster struck.

My cat Alexandria jumped onto my desk right onto the freshly embossed sentiment.

She was not hurt, but the card was toast. Sentiment smeared beyond repair.

As they say “life with cats”

In the end I got two cute cards.

Also, I used up all the leftover pieces.

I call this a victory and

That completes my take on USING DIES AND/OR PUNCHES

I almost forgot the good news!

Inky Paw's Challenge 148 - Thank You

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

This week we are saying THANK YOU!

In my house nothing says THANK YOU more than a big cup of coffee!

To start this card, I created a background of using the Mugs Stencil
 and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide.

While I was waiting for the ink to dry, I stamped out my image

using the Newton’s Mug Stamp Set.

I also used the tiny flower from the Dainty Daisies Stamp Set to stamp inside the mug.

I picked a lovely selection of bright colors for my image to stand out against my background.

Next using the Circle Frames Die, I create a focal point for my card out of matching card stock.

I decided to die cut out the center of the circle.

This gave me great place to place my stamped image and hang my sentiment.

The tiny tag comes from the Tags Times Two Die Set.

The final step to create a card base using matching card stock and attach my

sentiment tag with matching twine.

That completes my take on THANK YOU

Now it is your turn.

Show us your take on this fun challenge.
