My Mug Tree

Today we are playing along with the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.
For my card, I chose stamps from Newton's Nook Stamps, Including one of favorite stamp sets
"Newton Loves Coffee".
"Newton Loves Coffee" is the first stamp set that I purchased from Newton's nook, and this set has been a "go to" stamp set in my stash ever since.

Snowflake's

Hello to everyone!

Hope that the holidays are treating you well.
Today we have a card for the Inky Paws Challenge.
Since it is the holiday time, a quick and easy card comes in handy.
I used three images from the Serene Silhouettes Stamp set and the colors in the Challenge (see below).
First, I stamped the sentiment, then I randomly stamped the snow flakes around the sentiment.
For a little bit of texture, I added White Nuvo Drops around the snow flakes. Bit of a plug, if you have not purchased Nuvo Drops, GET SOME! I am in LOVE with how easy they are to use and CUTE they look.
Back to the card, finishing the card was easy with a simple black boarder on a white card.
A quick and simple card that could be mass produced if necessary.
That's all for now. Make sure that you check out all the other amazing cards on the link below.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have an amazing holiday!

Tag your it!

Hello everyone!
I hope that everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving.
Now that the turkey is done, this means the Holidays are upon us.
During the holiday, there is so much going on that I decided to come up with a simple idea for Lawnscaping Challenge # 142  " Give Thanks".
Tags have always been my "go to" item for the holiday. They are quick, simple and add that personal touch to any gift.
For this challenge, I came up with 3 tags. I kept it simple by die-cutting the top part of the tag, and single layer stamping.  A quick swish of the paint brush with distress ink to add color to the images.  Finishing them out with cute printed paper and a tassel. All told, it took about 30 minutes to produce these 3 tags.
(most of that time deciding on what color to make them).😊
And there we have IT.
I hope you enjoyed my tags, and don't forget to check out all the other amazing projects that are posted in the challenge. (link below)
That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by

Clean and Simple. Friend or Foe?

Hello crafty people!
Coming to you today with a card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #141 Clean and Simple. For some of us, clean and simple can be a bit challenging. It requires a bit of finesse' with card making, because you can take the card too far REAL fast.
I found that it is best to layout the items that you are intending to use for the card and nothing else.
For this card I have done just that.  Craft paper card stock, white Sakura gel pen, black Micron pen, and my winter penguin stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

The hardest part about making  this card was to decide how everything was going play together, and where to add the accents. Once I started stamping, everything seemed to come together.
In the end, this card turned out to be cute, easyand a lot of fun.  I know that I will be playing around with the clean and simple concept and see what else develops. That's all for now.   Diane

Black, Purple, and Flamingos?

Hi everyone!
Halloween is almost here and fall is in the air.
THIS card come with a story.
My sister was(and is) a HUGE fan of pink flamingos. She had these two plastic pink flamingos in her front yard for a long time, so long that they were no longer pink.
Everyone in the family hated these flamingos, and they were threatened with the trash on a regular basis.
One October, my sister went to work and left myself, my nice and nephew in charge to create the grave yard for our annual Halloween party. Everything looked good, except for two faded ugly sort of pink flamingos in our spooky graveyard.  Since I knew that touching those flamingos was considered an act of war, we drove down to the local Michales and got us a couple of cans of black spray paint.
When my sister came home from work later that afternoon. She saw her spooky graveyard complete with zombies and BLACK flamingos. I thought I was going to be joining the zombies on the lawn, but she loved them! This card is a tribute to those Black Flamingos, from trash to treasure.
No longer with us but never forgotten.
That's all for now.

Nuts for You.

Hello to everyone and I hope the day is treating you well.
Coming to you today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
This card has a interesting beginning.
I was not intending to make a card, I was just messing around late one night, using  my stamps from the October Card Kit and the color scheme inspiration (see below). I starting out with white card stock in leftover shapes from other projects. I started stamping in the images with Versamark and embossed clear. It was when I started to add the Distress color to the images that I stamped, that the crafty light bulb went on.... these would make a great card together.
The colors I used were Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Seedless Preserves, and a hint of Fossilized Amber. These are some of my favorite colors in the distress pallet, and naturals for fall crafting. Hope your enjoyed my card and don't forget to check out all the other fantastic cards on the link below.
That's all for now.
Have an amazing week.

the spooky tree

Where did this year go? I cannot believe that October is almost here. This means it is time for MY favorite time of the year... HALLOWEEN!!
I LOVE this time of the year, and not because it is my birthday month, but because it just FUN. The weather is cooler and everything is creepy and candy coated.
In keeping with the spirt, we created a card for Inky Paws Challenge #36  Halloween Theme.
This card started out by creating a stencil of the negative part of the Branch Tree Die from Tim Holtz.
Clear embossing inside of the stencil using the Spooky Street stamp set, gave the tree eyes and a graveyard trunk.
Then layers of  distress ink over the embossing to make the eyes and graveyard look like it was coming out of the tree in a totally creepy way.
A water brush background gives the tree a haunting glow.
I hope that you enjoyed my spooky tree, don't forget to check out all the other Hallowen cards on the link listed below.
Bye for now

My Gnome Home

Hey Gnome friends!
Coming at you today with a card for Lawnscaping challenge #137 Texture-fied.
I love texture and this card is no exception.
We started with the Gnome house from "Gnome Sweet Gnome" set. Such a sweet stamp set with a lot of stamps to mix and match. Behind our Gnome home we added texture in the form of  Cuttlebug's "tiny bubbles" embossing folder.
On the front of the card we added grass from "Gleeful Gardens" and some Flower Soft Moss (so fluffy!) A simple sentiment and the card is done. Thanks for stopping by. Please check out all the other amazing cards on the link listed below.

Celebrate with Denim

Hey everyone.
I have another card for Stamptember using the "Henna Patterns" from Simon Says Stamp.
I fluffy heart the Henna patterns set, and choose to use it as my background. This card also incorporates the numbers and sentiments from the "Big Numbers" set from Simon Says Stamp.  The "big numbers"  set has the perfect shaped numbers, that cut out quite easy when using foam. After assembling the card I decided it needed a little something. I rummaged thru the fabric stash and found some denim fabric that I cut into a swatch for the background. Added on some sequin bling, and I have a cute little card that I am happy to share with everyone. I hope you enjoyed my card and don't forget to check out all the amazing cards on the link listed below.
Bye for now Diane.

Dream in Color

Happy Stamptember Everyone!

Today I have a card using the new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp "Henna Patterns". I must say I'm kind of obsessed with the versatility of this set.  For this card I started with a color smash back round.(distress ink pad stamped on a piece of plastic. water sprayed on the ink and a piece of paper smashed on the inky color that was created). Once that was dry, I decided to go all matchy and  I stamped on the flower, petals, and all the little accents using the same color as the background. Dabbed on white enamel accents to add some texture and to break up all that color. Using my "Dream" die (also from Simon Says Stamp) I created a sentiment using foam. Thanks SO much for dropping by and check out all the other amazing cards on the link listed below.
Bye for now.

Burlap or Bust!

 Hello all you crafty people!

Today we are playing along with .
Inky Paws Challenge # 35 Burlap or Lace.
For my card I am using a stamp set that I have had my eye on since I first started using Newton's Nook Stamps, and recently add to my stash, Spooky Time. I decided to use burlap for my card and to stamp right on top of the burlap. Because I wanted a crisp image, I had to stamp several times.(want to talk about scary) Using some of the other stamps in the stamp set I created a sentiment banner for the card. A quick trip to "the stash" and I had a base for the card.
( Haunted by My Mind's Eye)
When I put the pieces of the card together,  I found it to be a bit dull. Another quick trip to the stash, to add in the scalloped bottom courtesy of a boarder punch, some tea dyed Distress Ink and a few cats eye.

I hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for stopping by.

                                                               Bye for now.   Diane

There is a fish on my card!

Hey everyone! hope all is going well.  Coming at you today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge GO FISH.  Slight problem with this, when I went into the stash to find a stamp set to make a card with, I did not have one fish set. Not one! Guess I don't like fish.
Time to stretch my crafty muscle and go with the next best thing, I got out my Silhouette Cameo. I don't use my machine as much as I like, and have been wanting to make a card from scratch for awhile. (no stamps or do-dads). I started simple, just fish and waves.
Ten husband/cat related interruptions later, NO CARD! Just a pile of die cut white paper. Frustrated by my lack of mojo, I stared to clean up and then saw a piece of scrap that the fish were die cut from. Crafty lightning struck and I had an idea! I would stencil those fish to the front of my card.
The rest came fell into place, including the sentiment, which I am PROUD to say I created myself. All the coloring on the card is distress inked in. No color paper was used.  I love this card, and I hope that it gives you inspiration to go out of your craft comfort zone. By for now  Diane

Whats Caking!

Hey everybody! Long time no blog.
It is time once again for a little lawnscaping!
I have this cute card for  challenge # 136... Punny Time.
Bright colors are my thing, this card is no exception!
The color inspiration for this card came from the Lawn Fawn paper in the background. The little cupcakes are from the "Bake me Cake " stamp set (retired) . The smiling faces for the cupcakes are from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set.
The sentiment is my own. I was just messing around with ideas and thought to myself,  what would one cupcake say to the other "what's caking?"
This challenge was so much fun, and I hope you check out all the other amazing cards  using the link listed below.
Thanks for dropping by!

The Monster On The Desk

Hey everyone. Hope Monday treats you well!
Can I just start off by telling you how much  LUV..... this card.
This card happened by pure mistake.
I stared out my creating the monster and the flower for the card, and you know me.... four stamps sets later, I had a monster and a flower.
I started to color in the monster and the flower. Mind you that I watercolor. I have this white plastic 6x6 mat that I stamp my distress ink on to watercolor, don't know where I got it, but I have this forever. I also had a cup of water on the desk. You know were this is going, just insert a cat. Well... after the crafty cat knocked over the water onto the desk, I grabbed the first thing I could to sopp up the mess, a
1/2 sheet of white card stock.
Originally, I just tossed the paper to the side pissed off about the mess.  I stared to create a background for the monster and flower, but just could not come up with anything good.
Then the crafty light bulb went on.  I grabbed that paper from the trash and sure enough....WINNER !   Moral of this story " put a lid on your cup", or maybe not...  BYE for now.  Diane
P.S. the four Stamp set: Gnome Sweet Gnome, Monster Mash, Stinkin Cute, Be Mine- all Lawn Fawn

Tiki-riffic

Hey everyone!
Today we have a card using the newly released
Newton's Nook's Tiki Time.

These Tiki's just make me smile, and I have had a blast getting my paws inky with this totaly cute set.
Today we went kind of "old school" with this card, using only black and white paper and neon and white embossing powder.
I love bright colors and this card requires sunglasses.
I had a WHOLE LOT OF FUN making this card.
Mess everywhere and did not care!
I hope you enjoyed the card and have an amazing weekend!

Find Paradise

I'm not good at just free stamping, never have been. I love to plan and execute my cards.
I decided to grab the Paradise Palm stamp set from Newton's Nook and three colors and went for it.
The three colors I chose are carved pumpkin, stormy sky, chipped sapphire. I did not want anything to dark, and I find blue to be a soothing color. Then I just started stamping.
This is a HARD THING TO DO !  NO JOKE!
You have to trust yourself and know when to say STOP!
The card you see is the second card I created. The 1st card I created my husband said " there was so many birds it looked like they were going to attack, don't want to be on that island".
So, after losing some of the birds, I added a palm tree instead.
This was a good experience to free stamp. I am definitely going to try it again and flex my crafty muscle.
Bye for now.   DIANE

We Beeee long - Lawnscaping Challenge #134

Hello Again!
I have another card for the Lawnscaping Challenge. For this one I have chose to use the Beeees! from the Bugs and Kisses stamp set. A great stamp set with a whole lot of bits and pieces to keep the crafty muscles flexed. For this card we have our rainbow bees buzzing around the cute heart.

A little bit of crystal Stickles to accents the bees wings and the heart.
The background was a OOPS! that happened to go my way. I had distress inked the background and then decided to outline the card in black. I went back to darken the "blue sky" and the black marker kind of ran into the sky. Could have been bad .... but I got lucky. Hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for stopping by.  Diane

This set has a lot of mix and match to keep the creatve juices flowing.
I love the little mushrooms on this set, there so stinking cute! I paired it with the sentiment from the Gleeful Gardens stamp set. Just a quck and simple card for the summer days. London Calling - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hey Everybody!
I am coming to you today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge featuring Newtons Nook Stamps.
Not that I am playing favorites, but I LOVE Newton's Nook. My love with them began about 2 years ago when I was looking for a cat stamp set that could be colored different ways to look like the different cats that own our house.
I purchased one set, and as they say the rest is history!  Today I am using the Newton Dreams Of London Set.  I am have had a blast with this set, since receiving it.  Being the huge distress ink lover that I am, I decided to create a cloudy London Background, and feature Big Ben, London bus and of course Newton. This card was so much fun to make and hope that you enjoyed it.   Don't forget to check out all the other amazing cards at the link listed below.

Just Smile- Lawscaping Challenge #133

Hey everyone!
Got a new card here. This time for Lawnscaping Challenge #133 MOOD BOARD INSPIRED My 1st look at this board, reminded me of warm summers days and just brought a huge smile to my face. So that is when I got the idea for this card. The Starfish circle, with their happy smiling faces, which I created using my new found love for water brushes I wanted the card to be graphic, and was bright and cheery, just like the mood board.  I love bright colors, and these are some of my favorite, so I used a good amount of the color. I hope that you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stoping by, and check out all the other cards on the link listed below.  Have an amazing day.  Diane

Hello up-cycle Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hey everyone a quick post for my second entry for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. If you did not for know the challenge for this week it is TIC-TAC-TOE.
For this card I went with another across selection. BLUE -STENCIL - CARDBOARD. This choice seemed like a good way to strech that crafty muscle.
First thing needed to do was to locate some cardboard. This came in the form of a frosted flake cereal box. After I dismantled the box and cut it down into the size needed, I selected the SCRIBBLES Tim Hotz stencil and added A LOT of distress ink to the inside of the box, to create the backround. The blue flowers and sentiment are from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greeting stamp set. The flowers are fussy cut, with a hint of white accent pen. Flair was added courtesy of some tiny pearls from "the stash".
Want to talk about a up-cycled card and only ONE cereal box as harmed in the making. Not bad!
As always, check out all the awesome creations, at the blog link listed below.

Be Amazing- Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hey everyone!  Hope your week is going smooth.
Today I am coming to you today with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
This weeks challenge is TIC-TAC-TOE!
There are some amazing selections on the Tic-Tac-Toe board to challenge every one's creativity.
MY choice was to go across. Sequins-Gold-Stamp.
I must admit when I saw these three options together, I knew what I was going to do. I have had this card idea rolling around in my head for awhile, I just could not put the pieces together until I saw this option, and then, the crafty light bulb went on.  I started by added some gold flair to card stock with some gold acrylic paint. When that dried, I stamped over the paint with the RUNWAY stamps from Stampers Anonymous, a impulse buy that I am SOOOO glad I purchased now. Stamped in a sentiment with stamps from the BE 3X4 Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp. Then I dug REAL deep into my sewing stash, and added the gold and silver sequins. A simple card, yes.... but I love it.
Thanks so much for joining me. Don't forget to check out all the other amazing cards on the blog, with the link listed below.

Cute little cards for Lawnscaping Challenge #132

How is everyone doing today?
Today, we have cards for the Lawnscaping Challenge # 132 DISTRESS MANIACS.
I LOVE me some distress ink. I use distress ink to color everything. That, was not always the case. There was a time when I was TOTALLY afraid if distress ink. If you think about it, as beginner, distress ink is really intimidating, all those insanely awesome backgrounds and ways to manipulate the ink.
For this challenge I wanted to keep it simple. No over the top background, or staining technique. For those beginners out there, just some simple coloring the image. I choose the cute monster from the MONSTER MASH  stamp set, and the cupcake from the BAKE ME A CAKE stamp set. I stared by grabbing my thinlits dies. I always tape my die's down to the paper and then stamp, so that I don't have any size surprises later.  After the stamping and cutting process, I grabbed colors to complement the printed paper I would be using, and just went for it. Keep in mind that it's distress ink  IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT!  I know these cards are simple, but some time you just need A quick and easy card. That's all for now. Don't forget to check out the Lanscaping Challenge blog in the link below for a whole lot of inspiration. BY for now. DIANE
