Summer Fun with IPC 105

Today starts a new INKY PAWS CHALLENGE!
Check out the fun sketch we have for you.

With summer almost over I used the challenge sketch and the
and created one last fun summer card!

Summer Fun a card by Diane Morales| Newto's Perfect Wave Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

The background of this card is Distress Ink in two colors.
When that dried, I took a paint brush and some white paint and dragged the white paint over the top to create a streaky sky look.

To match the leaves on Newton’s surfboard I used palm fronds
The sentiment that I used is from the
All of this I placed on a double layer of card of cardstock
that matches the challenge sketch.
I hope this inspires you to have some fun with the challenge sketch!
Cannot wait to see what everyone creates!

By for now!

Corgis and Color IPC 104

Happy Monday!
We are halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge!
Check out these AMAZING challenge colors!

I love corgis!
I love bold colors!
Using the two I came up with this cute tag!

Corgis and Color a Tag by Diane Morales | Corgi Beach Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

This tag starts with the background.
I used the Versamark Ink and
I inked up yellow cardstock with the
“pineapple” portion of the stencil using a dauber.
I wanted to make sure I got all the details of the stencil.
Once everything was inked up, I applied clear embossing powder to
the whole image and heat set.

Next, I lined up the “crown” part of the stencil and repeated the process.
Now that I had my background, I turned my attention to the rest of the tag.
First, I selected my image from the CORGI BEACH STAMP SET.
Using The challenge colors, I colored in my image.
Not wanting to add another color to the tag,
I used the LAND BOARDERS DIE SET and teal cardstock to create my grass.

Since I have A LOT! of color on this tag, I kept the
background behind the corgi simple.
To add a finishing touch, I used the one of the flags from the
FRAME AND FLAG DIE SET, orange cardstock
and a sentiment from the OINK STAMP SET.
I also added some orange and white twine to the top of the tag.
I had a fun time creating this tag and I hope this
inspire you to have some fun and share your creation
with us using the link in the challenge picture above.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great week.

Gull Friend Tag IPC104

Happy Monday!
Today starts a new Inky Paws Challenge!
IT’S A COLOR CHALLENGE!

My personal favorite of all the challenges!
After taking a long look at the colors,
I came up with this idea!

Gull Friends a tag by Diane Morales | Gull friends Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

The colors reminded me of a summer evening in Dana Point Harbor.
The Seagulls chilling on the docks looking for fish.
I started this tag with the background color of Teal.
I am not much into plain backgrounds, so I chose
to splat somewhite paint to give the tag texture.
I also touched up the edges with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

This gave the tag a more evening vibe I was going for.
The brown “dock” was created with a section of the
SEA BOARDERS DIE SET that was turned upside down.

The Yellow and Orange is featured with the sentiment in the sun going down
behind the adorable seagulls from the GULL FRIENDS STAMP SET
I hope you enjoyed my take on the challenge colors.
I hope this inspires you to come up with a project and share it with us
using the link in the challenge picture above.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a lovely week.

Seas The Day IPC 103

I am having a BLAST with the current Inky Paws Challenge

Since the days have been blazing hot here in Texas,
staying indoors and crafting is definitely an option!
I used some of the NEW Newtons Nook Collection to create my card.

Seas The Day a card by Diane Morales - Scuba Newton Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Starting with the background
Not one but TWO of the new stencils were used.
And
I started at the bottom to create my “Sandy Bottom Club” for my shrimp.

The lighter of the Distress Oxide Ink goes down on the paper first,
and then I highlighted with the darker color.
Once I had the shading that I wanted for my sea bottom,
I grabbed the Waves and Splashes Stencil
and turned my attention to the top.
Placing the stencil slightly over the bottom part,
I used my lighter Distress Ink color first and started to create “waves”.
Ink blending my “waves” in with darker Distress Ink to outline the shape.

The lower “wave” I chose to keep the white imprint.
The upper “wave” I inked in with color to create some depth.
My featured image and sentiment come from the

What a perfect pair to use on a card!
I hope this card inspires you to take some
time and create card to share with us!
