Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Release - Day 3

Day three of our Holiday Release

Check out these fun NEW Stamp Sets

For the Christmas Time Cats I kept things simple.

A shaped card using the Hexagon Frame Die Set.

Dark blue card stock for the card base.

I added splatters of “snowflake” using Distress Oxide Ink.

The Sea Borders Die creates the snowy ground at the bottom of my card.

I used two fun kitties from Christmas Time Cats

Green Stickles adds a bit of sparkle to the card!

For the Christmas Time Dogs

I started with the card base of green card stock that is distressed.

I cut this out using the largest scallop dye from the Oval Frames Die Set.

I used the smaller scalloped Oval to create a place for my sentiment

and the Super cute puppy Santa from the ChristmasTime Dogs

A bit of Glossy Accent makes the image pop.

This and all of the other fun NEW products

BEE-utiful Spring Day

Hello and Welcome!

Spring is in the air, and I have a buzz-worthy card to share with you today!

This card was inspired by the bees that are starting to buzz around my garden.

AND! my hope for giant flowers this growing season!

This card features The Super fun Beekeeper Newton and the
NEW Hyacinth stamp set.

I started off this card with blue card stock cut into a standard card front shape.

To add interest to the blue sky in the background I splattered

on a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next, I used sage green card stock, and the Sea Borders Die Set to create my “grass hill.”

I cut my hill using the dye upside down, using the smooth side of the dye,

no stitching and avoiding the wave at the edge.

A brushing of Bundled Sage Distressed Oxide at the top of the hill gives the hill some depth.

Now that my background and grass are done, I stamped and colored my images.

I laid my Hyacinth on the card and measured from the bottom up.

Since the two stamp sets have different dimensions, I want to make

sure my grass hill and large flowers look as natural as possible.

Once I was happy with my measurements, I glued my Hyacinth’s down

on the front of my card and then glued the grass hill over the top.

Next step was to stamp my sentiment on above the Hyacinth’s

Then I placed my beekeeper and beehive on the front of the card.

Finally, I added all my bees buzzing around my giant Hyacinth.

Stay crafty, my friends!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Day 3

Hello Everybody!

It is day one of three of our New Release!

We have three amazing NEW products for you to play with.

Using these three latest items I created these cards.

For the Barn Die Set I started my card by creating a

base using the Circle Frames Die Set and white card stock.

To create the card front I used a piece of

blue Paisley and green gingham cardstock from the NEW Farmyard Paper Pad.

Overlapping the pieces of paper and then using the sea border dye die cut them together.

The paper now fits together like a puzzle.

I use the scalloped circle frames die to line everything up and check my placement

for where I was going to put my barn when the card was finished.

Once I was satisfied with my barn placement, I removed the barn die and then taped down the

Circle Frames Die to the two pieces of paper and ran it through my die cut machine.

Even though this is a few different steps to die cut  the process creates

a great focal point for the background of my card front.

Next, I turn my attention to die-cutting out all the pieces for the barn.

I assembled my barn pieces on a separate piece of white card stock and glued everything down.

The sentiment comes from the Moo Stamp Set and I use the banner

from the Frames and Flag Die Set.

To assemble this card, I glued my die cut card stock to the front of my card.

Then, attached the banner to the back of the barn and then popped all the pieces up with foam tape.

I added drops of golden stickles to my hay and this shaped card is complete.

FOR THE TRACTOR DIE SET

I started by choosing two pieces of paper from the Farmyard Paper Pad that compliments each other.

Using the largest stitched rectangle die from the Basic Frames Die Set to cut both pieces out together.

After stacking the two pieces, I used a sharp Rotary blade to divide the pieces up into four triangular sections.

I reassembled and glued those sections down onto white card stock creating two different card fronts.

I placed the two card fronts aside to dry and then die cut all the pieces of the tractor.

Assembling the Tractor Die Set was so much fun I added a

bit of bling by using silver card stock for the stack and light.

The stitched rectangle from the Basic Frames Die Fits perfectly

inside the Frames and Flags Scalloped Die.

This made deciding my card base quick and easy.

I created my card base with light-yellow card stock.

I chose one of the created card fronts and hand cut it out.

Assembling this card was easy, I added my card front to the base.

To create a place for my tractor I used one of the NEW Hexagon Dies and white card stock.

That was glued directly on to the card front.

I glued my tractor on to the hexagon next.

Finally, I created simple sentiment banners from the Farming Fun Stamp Set

and added those to the front of the card with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed my take these latest items that we have on this release.

This and all the other fun latest items are available June 22nd.

Happy Meowr

Hello Everyone!

Up on the Newton’s Nook block today with this fun summer card.

For this card I used

Newton’s Happy Meowr

lSunscape Stencil

Sea Boarders Die

Frames Squared

Banner Duo Die Set

To start this card, I pulled out the Sunscape stencil.

I decided on using Distress Oxide in Scattered Straw and Carved Pumpkin.

In my usual manner I just stenciled everything in until I liked the way it looked.

Once my sun was stenciled in. I put my paper aside to dry.

Next, I turned my attention to the images from Newton Happy Meowr

I colored my images in using Blues and turquoise to pop in front of all that sunshine.

To assemble my card, I created a base from the Frame Squared Die Set and Neenah Desert Storm card stock.

I created sand at the bottom using the Sea Borders Die

I used Neenah Desert Storm card stock with a bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Ink splashed on.

I just wanted to see just the edge of the scallops

out on the front of the card so I did end up using

a square die from my stash for the card front.

I die cut out everything from my card front and attached it to my base.

I placed my sunny background down 1st, and then my die cut sand on top

I placed my images on the card, next popping some of them up with foam tape.

I also created a sentiment banner using the Banner Duo Die Set.

To finish this card, I added Stickles to the sun and anywhere blue.

I hope you get to try this card for yourself!

 Thanks for stopping by

Hope you have an awesome day

 Stay crafty my friends!

Inky Paw's Challenge 176 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

Using the challenge colors, I came up with this card.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Purr-maid Newton

Waves Stencil

Sea Boarders Die

With these colors I wanted to inspire you to do something unexpected.

I went thru my Newton stamp draw and came across the Purr-maid Newton.

Something just clicked in my head “Blue Cat”.

Mermaids come in different colors… right!

I stamp out my purr-maid and colored one blue in the challenge colors

and the other purr-maid with red accents.

Super excite for how cute the purr-maids turned out, I turned my attention to how to finish this card.

I thought that I stenciled background was the best option and decided on the Waves stencil.

I wanted to keep the background easy and stenciled dark blue ink onto blue cardstock.

The colors did not stand out as boldly as I wanted them to.

Next, I tried and old technique, I stenciled on the blue cardstock

with Versamark ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.

The clear embossing powder lifted color off the card stock and created a light blue wave.

This created the bold look I was looking for in the background.

As I was staging the card, I noticed that I did not have enough white on the card.

I used the Sea Boarders die to create a white wave area at the bottom of the card.

This also became a great place for my sentiment.

To finish my card, I added on some of the fish from the die set.

Also, I got out my bucket of Stickles and glittered all the Purr-maid parts and the fish.

I hope this inspires you to try out this fun challenge.
