BEE-utiful Spring Day

Hello and Welcome!

Spring is in the air, and I have a buzz-worthy card to share with you today!

This card was inspired by the bees that are starting to buzz around my garden.

AND! my hope for giant flowers this growing season!

This card features The Super fun Beekeeper Newton and the
NEW Hyacinth stamp set.

I started off this card with blue card stock cut into a standard card front shape.

To add interest to the blue sky in the background I splattered

on a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next, I used sage green card stock, and the Sea Borders Die Set to create my “grass hill.”

I cut my hill using the dye upside down, using the smooth side of the dye,

no stitching and avoiding the wave at the edge.

A brushing of Bundled Sage Distressed Oxide at the top of the hill gives the hill some depth.

Now that my background and grass are done, I stamped and colored my images.

I laid my Hyacinth on the card and measured from the bottom up.

Since the two stamp sets have different dimensions, I want to make

sure my grass hill and large flowers look as natural as possible.

Once I was happy with my measurements, I glued my Hyacinth’s down

on the front of my card and then glued the grass hill over the top.

Next step was to stamp my sentiment on above the Hyacinth’s

Then I placed my beekeeper and beehive on the front of the card.

Finally, I added all my bees buzzing around my giant Hyacinth.

Buzz.... worthy Bookmark

Hello Everyone!

Up on the Newton’s Nook blog todaywith

this fun bookmark using products from the new release!

For this bookmark I used

Beekeeper Newton

Honeycomb Hot Foil Plate

Bookmark 2 Die Set

Circle Frames Die Set

To start this bookmark, I use the Honeycomb Hot Foil Plate after it is heated up,

I pressed the hot foil plate into yellow card stock that was sprayed lightly with water.

I pressed honeycomb plate several different ways making sure

I had enough of the pressed paper to use with the Bookmark Die

You must let the paper cool down completely before you can die cut or use the paper.

Once the paper was cooled, I cut out my pressed paper using the Bookmark 2 Die Set.

I shortened the bookmark slightly by running the pressed paper through the bookmark die a second time.

With the bookmark ready I stamped out the beehive and a

whole bunch of bees from Beekeeper Newton Stamp Set

I colored in all my images and die cut everything out.

Assembling this bookmark was easy!

To break up all the yellow color I used one of the circles die from

the Circle Frames Die Set and white card stock.

I attach my beehive to that circle first and then attached all my bees around

the hive popping up some of them with foam tape.

I Created a banner using the sentiment from the from Beekeeper Newton.

I finished this bookmark by adding some yellow, black, and white twine to the top.

I also added a few of my favorite white gems.

I hope you get to try this bookmark for yourself!

 Thanks for stopping by

Hope you have an awesome day

 Stay crafty my friends!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Day 2

 Hello Everybody!

It is day two of our NEW Release!

To keep the buzz going we have a NEW fun and unique stamp set!

Beekeeper Newton Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Set

Using this stamp set I created this card.

To start this card, I created a background using the NEW Honeycomb Hot Foil Plate.

I chose citron foil on dark blue card stock.

I foiled the hot foil plate twice, side by side so it will fit across my background.

Once the foil was cooled, I used these scalloped die

from the  Frames And Flags Die Set to cut out my card front.

I also used the same die set to craft my shaped card.

Stamping coloring and die cutting beekeeper Newton came next.

Since my background is dark, I chose a red beekeeper outfit to stand out.

I also die cut and colored out extra bees.

To assemble my card, I used the NEW Hexagon Frames Die Set

And white cardstock to create a background for my beekeeper Newton.

The hexagon is glued down first over my foil background.

Next came my banner and the sentiment that is glued down.

Finally, beekeeper Newton is added to the card with foam tape.

I also added the bees to the front of the card with foam tape.

To finish this card, I added gel pen details and a couple matching gems.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the fun and unique stamp set.

This and all the other fun latest items are available June 22nd
