Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Day 4

Hello Everybody!

It is day FOUR of our New Release!

Meet the card front for your Christmas cards!

Newton’s Christmas Tree Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Set

This stamp is perfect for all your Christmas card needs!

In creating a card for this stamp set I kept things simple.

I used a basic 4 ½ circle die from my stash to create the card base with red card stock.

I wanted a hint of a Plaid background for a nice holiday feel on the card front.

Using the same red card stock that I used in my card base,

I inked up that background using the Plaid Stencil Set and Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

Once the ink was dry, I used the four-inch scallop die from

the Circle Frames Die Set to cut out my Plaid background.

I also inked a bit around the scalloped edges for the edge to stand out.

I stamped and colored my image from Newton’s Christmas Tree Stamp Set

I colored in my image using traditional Christmas colors.

Once I finished coloring, I die cut out my image using the coordinating dyes.

I also used one of the flags from the Frames And Flags Die Set to create a place for the sentiment.

I assembled my card front first making sure my plaid was going in the right direction.

Next, I added my image to the card front propping up the image and sentiment with foam tape.

Since it is the holiday season, I added a bit of sparkle using Frosted Lace Stickles

on the star and Santa hats and then Glossy Accents on the lights and ornaments.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the Newton’s Christmas Tree Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Set

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Day 1

MERRY DAYS AHEAD!

Who is ready for fun new release!

To start things off we have

Evergreen Frame Die Set

Merry Christmas Die Set

 Christmas Basics Paper Pad

Using these fun new products I created these items.

I LOVE the Evergreen Frame Die Set!!

The background on this die cuts out completely

and makes it easy to pop into different pieces.

This makes this die very versatile and so much fun to use.

I die cut out three pieces of cardstock.

Teal for the sky

Green for the trees

and white cardstock for the frame.

After layering all the pieces onto an extra piece of white card stock,

and gluing everything together, I created this card front.

I die cut one extra piece of the white card stock to create a frame that goes around the outside.

This was quick and easy to do by just trimming out the trees.

I used the Holiday Cheer Die Set to create a sentiment for the bottom of the card.

I used the same red card stock as I did for the card base to cut out the background.

Then I used white glimmer cardstock to cut out the words.

To finish this card, I added bits of snow with white paint and glued on Sparkly gems.

For the next card, I started again with red card stock.

I used the Plaid Stencil Set to create the background.

First, I inked on a layer using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink

When that layer was dry, I used Festive Berries Embossing Powder to ink on the final layer.

When everything was dry, I used the Frames and Flags Die Set

to create my card base and cut out my card front.

Remember those trees I cut out from the previous project to use to create the frame?

I repurposed those trees for the front of this card.

All I did was add foam tape to the back of the trees and attach them to the front of the card.

Adding Glossy Accents to all the creases in the trees.

then coveing the Glossy Accents with Rock Candy Distress Gliter

My sentiment for this card is created by using the Christmas Word Trio

so easy to make!

When you create with these word dies you get 2 sentiments.

Glossy black cardstock with white letters is my choice for my Sentiment.

After piercing my 2 new sentiments together I added this to my card foam tape.

These new dies could not be any more fun to use!

I know you will enjoy mixing and matching different card stocks and creating different sentiments.

All these new products will be available. Friday, October 18

Newton's Nook Designs Fall & Halloween - Day 3

Hello Everybody!

It is day THREE of our New Release!

This stamp set is going to give you all the FALL FEELS!

Autumn Reads Stamp Set

Using this die set I created this bookmark.

The plan for this bookmark is to have a cozy fall feeling.

Nothing is cozier than Plaid! So, a plaid background it is.

I grabbed my Plaid Stencil Set, a piece of burgundy cardstock,

and Dried Marigold Distressed Oxide.

I applied the oxide to the burgundy cardstock with the stencil and let it dry.

Once the oxide was dry, I used the Bookmark Two Die Set and cut out my Plaid background.

The next thing I did was stamp out the larger stack of books from the Autumn Reads Stamp Set.

Coloring these in was so much fun! I kept the colors fall like but bold.

When everything was dry on my image, I cut out my books using the coordinating die.

To make this bookmark a little extra I stamped my sentiment on the bottom of the bookmark

and then embossed with gold embossing powder.

I added foam tape on the back of my stack of books and placed them on the front of my bookmark.

I also added on my ribbon tag held together with a cute matching Brad.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the Autumn Reads Stamp Set.

This and all the other fun latest items are available Friday, September 13th

Inky Paw's Challenge 146 - Color Challenge

  Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

It is color challenge time!

HERE IS MY TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE.

I just love the color challenge!

I been on a quest to use up my scraps of paper.

The larger pieces of scraps I been turning into backgrounds.

I used the Plaid Stencil Set for this background.

MY colors of choice were Mowed Lawn and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide.

Once I inked up the stencil on the yellow cardstock an idea for a card was formed.

In my mind plaid = farm = animals.

Newtons Nook has a bunch of cute animal stamp sets to choose from.

I settled on the Bleat Stamp Set.

I colored my goat in a light gray color and added a pop of pink on the collar.

To create a background for my goat I used the Floral Roundabout Stamp Set.

I stamped out my stamp with Versamark and heat set with white embossing powder.

Since I am using the Floral Roundabout Stamp Set,

the Circle Frames Dies are a must to cut out my background shape.

Goats love grass!

I created a base of “grass” for my goat using the Land Boarders Die Set.

I also stamped part of my sentiment on my “grass” with white embossing powder.

To finish out my card, I attached my Goat onto the front of my card using some foam tape.

Pops of colors were created with flowers from the Bleat Stamp Set.

Finally, I created an orange banner with my sentiment for the top of the card.

That is my take on the challenge colors.

Now it is your turn!

Show us your take on this fun challenge.

Life is Better - Inky Paws Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

CHECK OUT THESE COLORS!

Using the challenge colors, I came up with this FUN shaped card.

The base of this card is the “Scalloped Edge Square” from

the FRAMES SQUARED DIE

On top of this base is the super cute! PORCH SWING FRIENDS STAMP.

Choosing markers from my stash to match the challenge colors,

I selectively colored my stamped image in.

Using the BANNER TRIO DIES  I created a place for my sentiment

When I was staging my card, I thought it was a little to flat.

I decided to use part of the PLAID STENCIL SET and the embossing pad for my

die cutting machine to create some texture behind my colored image.

I also added white “stitching” with a gel pen to my quilt.

I hope this inspires you to create something today.
