Newton's Nook April Release - Day 2

It is day TWO of our MINI Release!

Filigree Oval Frame Die

Using this die , I came up with this card.

To start this card I die cut the Filigree Oval Frame Die

three times from light pink cardstock.

I glued all three pieces together and put a stamping block on top to let the glue setup.

Next, I turned my attention to my stamp of choice TULIPS.

I decided on blue tulips to stand out against this pink frame.

I stamped, colored, and die-cut out my tulips.

My frame was now all glued together, time to add some color.

My colors of choice are Picked Raspberry and Victorian Velvet Distressed Oxide.

I went around the edges of the frame with the colors until I liked what I saw.

I dried the ink with my heat gun and then added splatters on top using the same colors.

A final splatter of white paint will give the frame some texture.

While I wait for my paint to dry, I die cut the word “hello” out of gray cardstock

This die is included with the Filigree Oval Frame Die.

I die cut this word twice out of gray cardstock and glued the pieces together.

Assembling the card is easy!

I glued my Filigree Oval Frame Die to a 4x5 white card base.

Then I added the TULIPS to the center of the oval.

Finaly, I glued the “hello” across the base of the tulips.

To finish this card I added sparkle pen to the tulips and a couple of white gems for accents.

Hope you enjoy my take on these fun new products!

Newton's Nook April Release - Day 1

Day ONE of the April Release

Check out this cool new die!

This NEW die is so inspirational I had to go all in!

The idea for this card is SPRING!

I grabbed two of my favorite Newton’s Nook spring products.

Hop Into Spring

Pastel Basics 6 X 6 PaperPad

I chose my three colors of the paper pad and then die cut each color out using

the NEW Lattice Die.

Once everything was peeled up onto press and seal,

I used Lattice Die one more time to die cut out my frame out of white card stock.

With everything die-cut out it is now time to assemble.

It is important to remember not to overthink the process,

this is crafting and we are supposed to have fun!

I started by gluing my white card stock frame onto a separate piece of cardstock.

Then I started individually piecing in my colored background into the lattice cutouts.

After glueing all my pieces in, I put a stamping block on my background so that the glue can set up.

Next, I stamped colored and die-cut out my piece from Hop Into Spring

I also use the Circle Frames Die Set to die cut a background 4 my image.

I also made a simple handmade banner for my sentiment.

To assemble my card I trimmed the edges of the Lattice Die card front.

This is adhered to a card base made with light yellow card stock.

Next, I attached my scallops circle to the front of my card.

I glued my banner behind my image and attached the image to the front of the card.

I completed this card with some matching gems.

This completes my take on the Lattice Die.

This and all of the other fun new products will be available.

Quick and Easy Spring Card.

Hello and Welcome!

As crafters we always need a last-minute card that we can quickly produce.

This is where paper pads come in handy!

I just love paper pads!

When I get a new paper pad, I ask myself “what can this paper do?”.

In this case, the paper makes an excellent spring background.

This particular paper comes from the Spring Blooms 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

I die cut this piece of tulip paper using the Hexagon Frame Die Set

This die cut piece becomes my card front.

I also created a card base using the same die set.

Now that my shaped card is complete, I selected my image

from Newton’s Easter Basket Stamp Set.

The image that I am using from the stamp set is on the smaller size,

so this will fit on the front of my shaped card with out looking out of sorts.

I also create a tiny banner for my sentiment.

How cute the “peep  peep” is!

I added the banner and the image to the card first.

Then I added all of my chicks on next.

I popped some of the chicks up with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

For a finishing touch, I added Stickles to the front of the egg.

Hope you enjoyed my take on this quick and easy card.

BEE-utiful Spring Day

Hello and Welcome!

Spring is in the air, and I have a buzz-worthy card to share with you today!

This card was inspired by the bees that are starting to buzz around my garden.

AND! my hope for giant flowers this growing season!

This card features The Super fun Beekeeper Newton and the
NEW Hyacinth stamp set.

I started off this card with blue card stock cut into a standard card front shape.

To add interest to the blue sky in the background I splattered

on a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next, I used sage green card stock, and the Sea Borders Die Set to create my “grass hill.”

I cut my hill using the dye upside down, using the smooth side of the dye,

no stitching and avoiding the wave at the edge.

A brushing of Bundled Sage Distressed Oxide at the top of the hill gives the hill some depth.

Now that my background and grass are done, I stamped and colored my images.

I laid my Hyacinth on the card and measured from the bottom up.

Since the two stamp sets have different dimensions, I want to make

sure my grass hill and large flowers look as natural as possible.

Once I was happy with my measurements, I glued my Hyacinth’s down

on the front of my card and then glued the grass hill over the top.

Next step was to stamp my sentiment on above the Hyacinth’s

Then I placed my beekeeper and beehive on the front of the card.

Finally, I added all my bees buzzing around my giant Hyacinth.

Newton's Nook Designs Spring Release - Day 3

Hello Everybody!

It is the final Day of our New Release!

For this day we have TWO amazing NEW PRODUCTS

Hyacinth Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Sets,

and

 Daisies Die Set

You all know I love flowers!

The Hyacinth Stamp Set is the perfect add-on for spring flower stamps.

Using the stamp set I made this card.

I kept things simple by using the stamp set and stamping out the background.

Next, I colored all the Hyacinth’s that I stamped on to the cardstock.

To create a card base for this card I used the large

scalloped die from the Frames And Flags Die Set.

I die cut my card base out of purple card stock to match the theme.

Next, I took my Hyacinth background and cut it down to 3 ¾ by 4 ¾ create my card front.

To break things up a bit I use the stitched hexagon dye from the Hexagon Frames Die Set

Die-cut with vellum to break up all the color and add a backdrop.

Next, I stamped, colored and die-cut out a Hyacinth for the front of the card.

The banner from the Frames And Flags Die Set is a perfect place for my sentiment.

A couple of matching gems for bling and this card is done.

For the Daisies Die Set

I die-cut all my daisy pieces first.

I decided to assemble my daisies first and see how the card develops.

I used orange and pink card stock and layered the pieces up with foam tape.

the teal gingham paper from the Pastel Basics Paper Pad is a great match for these colors

I cut one 3 ½ x 5 rectangle of this paper to make my card front.

I attached this to a card base made with matching card stock.

To layer everything up I used the banner from the Basic Frames Die Set.

I secured this piece in the center of my card and then added my daisies to the top.

I used the easter blessing post mark from Easter Postage Sampler Stamp

as my sentiment for this card.

Newton's Nook Designs Spring Release - Day 2

Hello Everybody

It is day TWO of our NEW Release!

Today we are sharing

Spring Heights Stamp Set + Coordinating Die Set

Using this beyond cute stamp set I created not one but two cards!

Backgrounds are fun projects to do when you need some

crafty time but are not out to create a complete project.

Like all card makers I have a stash of backgrounds.

While looking through my stash I came upon these trees that I had created a while ago.

These trees with this stamp set are giving Pacific Northwest.

These trees were created using the Tree Line Stencil.

I used the Frames Squared Die Set to cut out my tree background and a card base.

I colored my cat from the Spring Heights Stamp Set.

I die cut out my cats using the coordinating dye cuts and added them to the front of the card with foam tape.

The circle die that is included with the Frames Squared Die Set fits the

sentiment from Spring Heights Stamp Set perfectly!

After adding on my sentiment circle, I finished my card by adding 5 cute butterflies to the front of the card.

For my second card I created a card base using the Frames and Flags Die Set.

In my stash, I also found a cute background created with the Cloud Stencil.

I cut this background to fit inside the Frames and Flags Die card base.

I colored my puppy images from Spring Heights Stamp Set.

Once colored I die cut out using the coordinating dies and

added them to the front of my card with foam tape.

I used the same circle from Frames Squared Die Set

on the previous card to place my sentiment.

To finish this card I chose the bees from the Spring Heights Stamp Set.

A few of these bees well placed complete my card.

Hope you enjoy my take on these fun new products!

All these new products will be available. Friday, February 28
