Snowy Snowman Card

Hello Newton Fans!

Here today on the blog sharing a fun winter card with you.

I started this card by selecting one of the sheets of the Falling Snow Towner Card Fronts.

Ater running the snowflakes sheet thru my foiling machine, using silver foil,

what was left is a beautifully foiled card front.

The next step is to create a card base and front.

I did this by using the Frames and Tags Die Set.

I die cut out my toner card and my card base with this die to create a shaped card.

The stamp set of choice for this card is Snowman Greetings.

I colored my stamp in and added a sentiment to the wood panel.

Thie vintage vibes of the stamp goes awesome with the background snowflakes!

To create a place for my snowman to sit on the card

I die cut an Oval from the Oval Frames Die Set.

This oval is die cut out of velum and then I used my white paint pen to add a bit of “snow.”

My card is now ready for assembly.

I attached the snowman to the front of the oval first with foam tape.

Next, I attached the oval to the front of the card with glue.

Once everything is placed correctly, I finished the card by adding puffy embossing powder

by Ranger to the snowy area above the sign.

Hope you enjoyed my snowy holiday card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stay crafty everyone!

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Release - Day 2

WELCOME TO OUR WINTER WONDERLAND!

We are on day two of our preview.

Check out these fun NEW products!

Falling Snow Toner Card Fronts

Snowfall Die Set

 Let it Snow Die Set

Using these products I created this card!

The Falling Snow Toner Card Front is the star of the show!

I use my laminator to add silver foil to the front of my toner card.

When the foil was set up, I use the largest scalloped die from the

Frames and Flags Die Set to cut the foil piece and create a shaped card.

With my card now complete, I turned my attention to the Let it Snow Die Set

I created The snowy effect on my lettering my letters by using a technique

that I shared on my blog on October 15th.

I die cut this out and placed it onto its backer.

Next, I use the Snowfall Die Set to create some snowflakes in the same manner.

Once everything was glued together, I decided on placement.

Everything was added to the front of my card with foam tape.

A final touch of added gems to the front of the card for a little more sparkle.

I love the combination of dark blue and silver together and I highly recommend you try it!

When you use when you use toner foil you have all those lovely spent pieces.

I created this card with one of those pieces.

I was experimenting Foil pieces one evening and decided to glue one

of the spent foils to a piece of gray cardstock with two-sided tape.

(more on this later)

Let us just say the results were dramatic!

I thought it would be fun to use the Fractured Card Layout Die to cut this foil out.

I reassembled all of the pieces and created them into a card front and also created a card base.

Next, I used Snowman Postage Sampler Stamp Set to add snowmen

and a sentiment to the front of the card.

I also added the smallest snowflake from the Snowfall Die Set

I also added some sparkly gray sequins and gems to the front of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards

Newton's Nook Designs Winter Release

SNOW HAPPY TO SEE YOU!

For day one we have a super cute set that

will keep you busy on those chilly winter days.

Using the stamp set and paper I created this card.

For this card, I used the Circle Frames Die Set.

For the base of this card I used purple cardstock that I

splatted with white paint to give it a snow like texture.

For the front of the card, I chose paper from the Snow Flurries Paper Pad

This is placed over my purple cardstock base.

Next, I stamped, colored, and die cut out my snowmen

from Snowman Postage Sampler Stamp Set.

I die cut my final circle out of white cardstock to create

a space for my snowmen to hang out.

I added this circle and the snowman to the front of the card with foam tape.

Next, I used the tiny banner from the A7 Frames and Banners Die Set.

The sentiments from Snowman Postage Sampler Stamp Set fit perfectly on the banner!

I ended up chopping down this banner a bit to fix the size of the circle.

To finish this card, I glued snowy glitter around the banner.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and tags!

Freshly BOO'D

Hello Newton Fans

Today I am here with you to share this fun Halloween card!

This card started off with the Spooky Halloween Foil

it has been a while since I used toner foil.

My foiling was a little rough around the edges.

I do not think I had my machine hot enough.

That is OK we can make it look antique.

I used an old school technique that I learned a long time ago when I was first card making.

To do this we first start by heating up the foil paper with our heat gun.

I do this step a couple of times, just heat it up and let it cool.

That is going to give tiny cracks in the foil.

Once the paper is completely cool, you are going to move on to the new next step.

Using some Lost Shadow Distress Ink, I rubbed ink onto my foil to expose those tiny cracks.

I used an incredibly soft cloth to buff off some of the ink and then added another layer of ink.

I kept alternating, adding ink and buffing until I liked what I saw.

I left this piece of altered paper aside to dry.

Once it was dry I used the Oval Frames Die Set to create my shaped card.

Next, I turned my attention to the stamps I wanted to use.

From Spooky Coffees I used the mummy coffee cup, steam, and sentiment.

From Halloween Postage Sampler I use the ghost.

I stamped, colored, and die-cut all the pieces out.

To create a base for my stamps I used vellum the smaller scalloped oval

from the Oval Frames Die Set.

The banner comes from Frames and Flags Die Set.

I layered everything on the front of the card using foam tape.

A few extra gems were added to make the card sparkle.

Some Disco Stickles on my ghost to make them shine.

Hope you try this fun technique.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stay crafty everyone!

Newton's Nook Designs Christmas Release

Hello Everybody!

We are on day two of our preview.
Check out these fun dies.

Using the Happiest Holidays Die I created this tag.

I started this tag by choosing paper from Christmas Party Paper Pad

The bows and wreaths on this paper caught my attention!

I cut the paper out using the largest of the Essential Tags Die Set.

I also cut out a second piece of card stock to glue on the back to give my tag some stiffness.

Once these two pieces were glued together, I used a Gray alcohol marker

and added some dimension around the edges.

You are going to love this next part, and it is a game changer with word dies.

To create my snowy lead letters I first started with some red card stock.

I smeared Versamark ink across the card stock added clear embossing powder and heat set.

Next is smeared Versamark ink on top of that added white embossing powder and heat set.

I like to put my paper in the freezer for a minute to make sure the

embossing powder is absolutely dry and hard.

Here is where the magic happens, I take my dye and place it on the

the halfway point between the white and clear embossing powder.

Once the dye is taped down, I run it through my die cutting machine.

It is important to make sure that the letters cut all the way through.

I pull my letters out of the dye and admire the results!

To finish my tag I used a darker green card stock behind my snowy letters.

I finished off my tag with a matching dark green bow.

For my next card I started with a card base made from the Circle Frames Die Set.

I chose the Super cute green and pink holly paper from Christmas Party Paper Pad

On top of this I have matching green card stock that has been altered with Distressed Oxide Spray.

the merry is from Merriest Christmas Die Set

I created the merry letters using the same technique as I used above.

For these letters I use clear embossing powder and Ranger Holographic Powder.

Once the card was assembled, I added a present from the Gift Builder Die Set,

To finish this card a couple of cheerful stars.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and tags!

Our fun new products will be available.
