Happy Halloween IPC 82

Hello everybody and welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
What great colors we have for you to use on the first day of October!

It's my birthday month AND it’s time for all things Halloween!
In an honor of that, I got the party started with this card.

Happy Halloween a card by Diane Morales| Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

This card features the Spooky Skeletons Stamps Set.
I love this Stamp Set. It is one of my all-time favorites!
I chose to make Blended stripes in the background to feature the challenge colors.
I used coordinating Distress Ink colors that match the
challenge colors and inked up the base of the card.
Distress Ink is awesome because there are no rules on how to use it.
You can grab dabbers or your favorite brushes and put as little
or as lot of color as you want, just make a mess and have fun!
Next, I selected some of the smaller stamps on the stamp set.
Using Versamark Ink, I stamp the images in a random pattern OVER the colors.

I applied clear embossing powder over the whole sheet and heat set the images.
This created a cool kind of ghostly pattern in the background.
To the top of this I added stamps from the Spooky Skeleton Stamp Set
and my sentiment using the Frame and Flags Die Set.

Now it's your turn. Use the challenge colors and your favorite
Newton's Nook stamp to create a project to link up with us.

Thanks for stopping by to see my project.

Happy Fall Ya'll IPC 81

Welcome to the second half of the
current Inky Paws Challenge.
It's all about FALL!

Fall such an amazing time year, but when my kids were small,
I remember it being a very busy time.
With that in mind, I came up with these cute treat boxes that you could
whip together for quick thank you or classroom giveaway.

The start of this project is the treat box.
My treat box came from my stash of dies. You can use your favorite treat box maker
of choice Silhouette, Cricket, or whatever is in your stash.

I die cut and assembled my boxes using this TOO CUTE paper I found at Michael’s.
I usually don't buy new paper, I try to grab from my stash but… this paper is
a perfect match for the stamp set. (see picture below)
Selecting my stamps from the NEW Harvest Tails Stamp Set.
I stamped and colored the images in using Distress Ink.

I did not want the boxes to look plain, so using my Land Borders Die Set
I cut out some grass and hills to place behind my images.
Next, I place my colored images on top of my “grass” using a little foam tape
to pop them up and give them some dimension.
Finally, I went to my “go to” die set, the Tags Time Two Die Set.
I die cut out tags and stamped my sentiments on the die cuts.
The longer tagged I trimmed slightly on the bottom to fit onto the Box.

I added some twine to the tag tops and attach them to my treat boxes with foam tape.
These treat boxes are now ready to brighten somebody's day!
I hope this inspires you to create your own treat boxes and when you do
make sure to link your project up using the link above in the challenge picture.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hedgehog Hello IPC 81

Hello everybody!
It's time for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!
It's all about the best time of year!
FALL

I love the Fall time.  The cooler weather and all the pretty colors that surround me!
With that idea in mind, using the Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set and the
Autumn Leaves Die Set, I came up with this card as inspiration.

Hedgehog Hello a card by Diane Morales| Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I love the Autumn Leaves Die Set, these leaves are so much fun to cut
out and make the perfect bed for my cute hedgehog!

The colors for fall are well defined, so I decided to add some flair with the use of blue leaves.
For the Hedgehog I colored in a couple of them.
The first hedgehog colored I used mostly brown colors.
I did not like the way that image came out. Way to matchy- matchy.

The second coloring of the hedgehog I used orange and
rust colors and the added on the brown tones.
These colors came out much better and gave a definition to the image.
In retrospect, I also should have gone with my idea of coloring the acorn in yellow tones.
I think that would have added a bit more POP to the card.
You know what they say "always go with the first idea".

Now that I am done with my project, it is your turn.
Let’s see what you can come up with using a fall theme
and your Newton Nook Stamps or Dies.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Newton's Kitchen IPC 80

Hello Everybody!
Coming to you today from the great state of Texas
for the second half of the current Inky Paws challenge.

Using the Newton's Kitchen Stamp Set
and the challenge sketch I came up with this card.

Newton's Kitchen a card by Diane Morales | Newton's Kitchen Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

When I made this card, I was packing up for our move to Texas and needed something to cheer me up from many days of packing and preparation.
I just wanted to do something fun, cute, and colorful!
The bright colored paper I selected became the inspiration for this.
Taking a good long look at the sketch, I decided how I wanted to start this card.
I grabbed printed paper from my stash, The Frame and Flag Die Set and started to die cut the background elements of the sketch.
Originally, I had a round shape behind Newton, but I wanted something
a little cuter so I decided to go with a heart shape instead.
Attached those elements together and adhered them to a white card base.
Then I stamped and colored Newton, matching colors to the background.
Assembled everything on top of the background elements
and added enamel dots for flair.
I hope this inspires you to create your own card or project and
share it with us using the link in the challenge picture above.

Thank for stopping by.

Lama Celebration! IPC 80

Welcome to the start of a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
It's a Sketch Challenge my favorite kind!

Before I was on the inspiration team, I loved to play along with the Inky Paws Challenge.
When I won Inky Paws Challenge it was a sketch challenge.
These challenges are near and dear to my heart.
Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this card as my inspiration!

Llama Celebration a card by Diane Morales | Llama Delivery Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Sometimes sketch challenges can be a little bit excuse the pun “challenging”.
In this case I did not want to do a literal interpretation of the sketch.
So, I stared at the sketch a bit and decided how I was going to interpret it.
This idea started by going into my stash of paper and choosing the bright orange polka dotted paper.
That choice led me into the colors that I used on the llama that is featured on the front element.
The llama stamp is from the Llama Delivery Stamp Set
I colored the stamp in with Distress Markers because I wanted the colors to festive and bright.

Once the choice in the llama colors were decided, I went to my card stock stash and selected coordinating colors to use in the background elements of the sketch to match my colored llama.
The background sash element is part of the Land Boarders Die Set.
I die cut the two different color papers out and using the “celebration” sentiment
from the Birthday Essentials Stamp Set,  and stamped my sentiment on top.
Layering the elements on top of each other came next,
followed by the llama on top with foam tape.
To finish the card, I grabbed some enamel dots and jewels
and place those strategically on top

That is my take on the challenge sketch.
I hope this inspires you to grab your Newton Nook Stamps and put your twist on this sketch.
