Something New - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Here is my take on this challenge.

Full disclosure, I did not use HERO ARTS products in this challenge.

My Simon Says Stamp January Kit was begging to be used, so I used it in my card.

Foiling is all the rage, so I decided to try it out.

I used Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and the Snowflake Season Stamp Set.

My background paper is Island Blue card stock by Simon Says Stamp.

I decided to smoosh my Deco Gel on an empty Range Ink Pad that I had.

A friend on Instagram suggested it and it seemed to work simply fine when using a clear stamp.

I die cut out my card base and then stamped on my Deco Foil Gel.

While the Gel was drying, I made sure to clean up my stamp and pallet knife.

I decided on the Rainbow Shattered Glass Foil Sheets and ran everything thru my laminator.

Good news…. It was sparkly

Bad news…… I did not have enough gel in places so there were gaps.

I tried to make more backgrounds with mixed results ranging from ok to epic fail.

Finally, I chose the best background to complete the card.

I ended up using Salty Ocean Distress Ink and Tarnished Brass Distress Paint around the edges.

I cut out Eliza Snowflake from one of the extra background pieces I had.

                                                                      

To make the snowflake sparkly I used Tarnish Brass Distress Paint and Nebula Stickles Glitter Gel.

Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder by Ranger Ink was my choice for the sentiment.

Final thoughts, foiling may not be for me.

I do LOVE the sparkly shine, but I need to practice the technique.

I am going to watch a few videos and see where I went wrong.

That completes my take on SOMETHING NEW
