Happy Fall IPC 84

Welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.

For this challenge all you got to do is use a burlap or twine.
Burlap is not something I use in an everyday crafting.
I decided to challenge myself.
Using the Harvest Tails Stamp Set and some burlap I came up with this card idea

Happy Fall a card by Diane Morales| Harvest Tails Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

.
I had a lot of fun creating this card and it starts with a background.
Using the pumpkin and gourd from the Harvest Tales Stamp Set
I Versamark stamped the images onto the yellow cardstock.
I heat set the images with clear embossing powder to create
my own pattern cardstock for the background.

I die cut out the base shape of my card using a round die that I had in my stash.
Next, I turned my attention to the burlap.
Since burlap is kind of flexible, I chose to glue mine to some cardstock
and then attached it to the front of the card.
With the base of my card done, I stamp out my images and colored them in with Distress Ink.
I made sure to keep my colors very fall oriented.
With all my colored images dry, I die cut them out and attach those to the front of the card.
When it came to the sentiment I wanted to do something different.
I thought about it for a while and came up with a green apple
colored banner with embossed white lettering for the sentiment.
The banner comes from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

I love the colors that I used in this card!
Very Fall-tastic!
Now it is your turn!

Cand Corn and A Card IPC 83

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paws Challenge.

We have an awesome sketch for you to work with!

October is such a fun month!
It's my birthday month and of course it's Halloween time!
Whey not create a tribute to my favorite candy…
CANDY CORN!

Candy Corn a card by Diane Morales | Candy Corn Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

This sketch was perfect for my candy corn card.
To make it even more interesting I would use only candy corn colors!
The base card I decided was going to be yellow.
Next, using the Candy Corn Stamp Set, I stamped
my candy corns in a random pattern on white cardstock.
I colored those in using traditional candy corn colors
and attached that to the base of my card.

Using the Sky Borders Die Set, I die cut the “across”
element of the sketch out of orange cardstock.
The round element of the sketch became the place for my sentiment.
To finish this card, I stamped, colored and die cut out the
large candy corn for the accent for the card.
Now it is your turn! Use the sketch above and your
favorite Newton Nook Stamps and show us how you get your PAWS INKY.

Thanks for stopping by links to the goodies below.

Have a great week

Boo a card for you! IPC 83

Welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
What a fun sketch we have for you.

Since it is still October, I decided to keep the Halloween fun happening!
Using the Halloween Trio Stamp Set, and the sketch above I created this card.

Boo a card by Diane Morales | Halloween Trio Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

The background of this card is quite simple.
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink is smashed into white cardstock and dried with a heat gun.

Next, I created the background grass using the Land Boarders Die Set.
The grass is die cut out, covered with a generous amount of Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.
The ink is quickly dried with a heat gun, and then water is dropped on it to create texture.
Next, The Halloween Trio Stamp Set is stamped out and colored in.
I die cut out my images and attached them on top of the grass with some foam tape.

Using the bats that come with the coordinating dies for the Halloween Trio Stamp Set,
I die cut out some bats out of black cardstock and attached to the top of the card.
Finally, I stamped “Happy Halloween” on the card.

I hope this inspires you to create your own project and
share it with us using the challenge picture above.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a wonderful week.

Hugs
Diane

Newton's Halloween Tag IPC 82

Welcome to the second half of the current Inky Paws Challenge!

Using the challenge colors above I came up with this fun tag!

Newton's Halloween Tag by Diane Morales| Newton's Perfect Pumpkin Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

This tag features the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin Stamp Set.
A must have for your Halloween Stamp Set collection!
I started this tag by using the spider webs in the stamp set at and stamping them onto the surface of the tag using black Versamark ink.

I applied clear embossing powder all over the top
of the spider webs and heat set.
Next, I stamped my Newton and colored
him in using some of the challenge colors.
I fussy cut out Newton and place him on the tag using foam tape to pop him up.
Finally, I stamped my sentiment on cute yellow polka dotted paper.
I trim the sentiment down and attached it to
the front of my tag using foam tape.
To add some flair, I created a tassel and trim and attach that to the tag.

I LOVE the way this tag it came out!
Super cute and super easy!
Now, it is your turn using the challenge colors and your favorite
Newton's Nook Stamp show us how you get your Paw’s Inky.

Hope everybody has a great week.

Happy Halloween IPC 82

Hello everybody and welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge.
What great colors we have for you to use on the first day of October!

It's my birthday month AND it’s time for all things Halloween!
In an honor of that, I got the party started with this card.

Happy Halloween a card by Diane Morales| Spooky Skeletons Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

This card features the Spooky Skeletons Stamps Set.
I love this Stamp Set. It is one of my all-time favorites!
I chose to make Blended stripes in the background to feature the challenge colors.
I used coordinating Distress Ink colors that match the
challenge colors and inked up the base of the card.
Distress Ink is awesome because there are no rules on how to use it.
You can grab dabbers or your favorite brushes and put as little
or as lot of color as you want, just make a mess and have fun!
Next, I selected some of the smaller stamps on the stamp set.
Using Versamark Ink, I stamp the images in a random pattern OVER the colors.

I applied clear embossing powder over the whole sheet and heat set the images.
This created a cool kind of ghostly pattern in the background.
To the top of this I added stamps from the Spooky Skeleton Stamp Set
and my sentiment using the Frame and Flags Die Set.

Now it's your turn. Use the challenge colors and your favorite
Newton's Nook stamp to create a project to link up with us.

Thanks for stopping by to see my project.

Happy Fall Ya'll IPC 81

Welcome to the second half of the
current Inky Paws Challenge.
It's all about FALL!

Fall such an amazing time year, but when my kids were small,
I remember it being a very busy time.
With that in mind, I came up with these cute treat boxes that you could
whip together for quick thank you or classroom giveaway.

Happy Fall Y'all a project by Diane Morales | Harvest Tails Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

The start of this project is the treat box.
My treat box came from my stash of dies. You can use your favorite treat box maker
of choice Silhouette, Cricket, or whatever is in your stash.

I die cut and assembled my boxes using this TOO CUTE paper I found at Michael’s.
I usually don't buy new paper, I try to grab from my stash but… this paper is
a perfect match for the stamp set. (see picture below)
Selecting my stamps from the NEW Harvest Tails Stamp Set.
I stamped and colored the images in using Distress Ink.

Happy Fall Y'all a project by Diane Morales | Harvest Tails Stamp Set by Newtons Nook Designs

I did not want the boxes to look plain, so using my Land Borders Die Set
I cut out some grass and hills to place behind my images.
Next, I place my colored images on top of my “grass” using a little foam tape
to pop them up and give them some dimension.
Finally, I went to my “go to” die set, the Tags Time Two Die Set.
I die cut out tags and stamped my sentiments on the die cuts.
The longer tagged I trimmed slightly on the bottom to fit onto the Box.

I added some twine to the tag tops and attach them to my treat boxes with foam tape.
These treat boxes are now ready to brighten somebody's day!
I hope this inspires you to create your own treat boxes and when you do
make sure to link your project up using the link above in the challenge picture.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hedgehog Hello IPC 81

Hello everybody!
It's time for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!
It's all about the best time of year!
FALL

I love the Fall time.  The cooler weather and all the pretty colors that surround me!
With that idea in mind, using the Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set and the
Autumn Leaves Die Set, I came up with this card as inspiration.

Hedgehog Hello a card by Diane Morales| Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs

I love the Autumn Leaves Die Set, these leaves are so much fun to cut
out and make the perfect bed for my cute hedgehog!

The colors for fall are well defined, so I decided to add some flair with the use of blue leaves.
For the Hedgehog I colored in a couple of them.
The first hedgehog colored I used mostly brown colors.
I did not like the way that image came out. Way to matchy- matchy.

The second coloring of the hedgehog I used orange and
rust colors and the added on the brown tones.
These colors came out much better and gave a definition to the image.
In retrospect, I also should have gone with my idea of coloring the acorn in yellow tones.
I think that would have added a bit more POP to the card.
You know what they say "always go with the first idea".

Now that I am done with my project, it is your turn.
Let’s see what you can come up with using a fall theme
and your Newton Nook Stamps or Dies.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
