Hi Everybody!
Time
for a NEW challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
This
week we making things MOVE
That
is right… it is time to make something with MOVING PARTS
This week
we are featuring products by LAWN FAWN
You do not have to use them to join in but if you have some, we
would love to see them used.
This whole idea came to me when I was mowing the grass one day.
I wondered what goes on under the surface of the grass.
Then I realized this would make a great card for this challenge.
I started out using the A Bug Deal Stamp Set.
I stamped and colored my bugs.
I also created my background using way too many Distress Oxide
Ink colors.
(I will list all of those below)
Once all that ink was dry, I die cut the top of my paper to
create the “GRASS”
Using the Grassy Boarder Lawn Cuts Die
Using the Small Dotted Rectangle(retired) I die cut out the base
of my card and a piece of foam.
The foam is going to help me create a channel so that my “rollie pollie” can roll free.
I glued my colored base to my foam and die cut out my channel
using the
Slide on Over Waves
Die.
It was at this point I realized that I did not have anything
make the “rollie pollie” slide.
My husband to the rescue! He went out the woodshop and cut two pieces
of dowels to place in the slider.
I used a low-tech solution of using the “rollie pollie” die cut
on the top and
bottom of the dowels to keep them in the channel.
With the movement done on my card, I glued it on to a card base.
Next, I added on all my bugs, leaves and dirt.
For a final touch I created a sentiment using the sentiment from
the Happy Summer Stamp Set and the Everyday Sentiments Banner
That
completes my card!
