We
are using DIES AND/OR PUNCHES
Featuring
products by MEMORY BOX
You
do not have to use the featured company to join in.
If you
have some of their product in your stash?
We
would LOVE to see them used.
Here
is my take on this challenge.
For
my card I decided on a die, the Stained Glass Floral Craft Die by Memory Box.
The
first thing to do was to select which color of card stock I was using.
After
some careful deliberation I came up with
Soft
Navy
Audrey
Blue
#120
white
and
Lemon
Chiffon
All
these colors by Simon Says Stamp
I
decide to die cut out each of the card stock colors from the floral die.
When
I put the die into my machine with the Soft Navy card stock,
the
die slid, but the idea for this card was born.
Since
I now knew that the front of my card was now going to be Soft Navy,
I
started placing all the die-cut colors together like a puzzle until I found
the
color combo that stood out the most on the Soft Navy color.
Once
I was satisfied with my color idea, I glued my floral die cuts for the front of
my
card
on white card stock to make it extra rigid.
While
I was waiting for my glue to dry, I decided on a sentiment.
What
I selected was from the “Hello Darling” Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp.
I
embossed this on to the front of my card with white embossing powder.
Next,
I attached by floral square at an angle propped up with foam tape.
Final
touches, was to create a card base out of white card stock and add some
yellow
enamel glitter dots by Doodlebug
Now
that the main card is done, I looked around my desk and saw all the leftover.
Why
not make some more cards.
FOR
THE SECOND CARD
I
used the Slime Line Frames and Portholes Die by Newton’s Nook Designs.
I
die cut out Soft Navy Card Stock scored and folded this in half.
I
add another one of the Floral squares to the front of this card with a
sentiment
also,
from the Hello Darling Stamp Set.
I
filled in the flowers with Frosted Lace Stickles by Ranger Ink.
FOR
THE THIRD CARD
I
used the Slimline Nested Rectangles by Simon Says Stamp and
Soft
Navy Card Stock for the base of my card.
I added
the final two floral die squares to the top and bottom of the card.
I
filled in the flowers with Frosted Lace Stickles by
Ranger Ink.
I
decided on a sentiment from the Hello Darling Stamp Set.
Just
as I finished heat setting the sentiment on the front of the card, disaster
struck.
My
cat Alexandria jumped onto my desk right onto the freshly embossed sentiment.
She
was not hurt, but the card was toast. Sentiment smeared beyond repair.
As
they say “life with cats”
In
the end I got two cute cards.
Also,
I used up all the leftover pieces.
I
call this a victory and
That completes my
take on USING DIES AND/OR PUNCHES
