Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2020

 

I look forward to this time of year because it is time for

the 2020 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Today!

Check out my coffee themed card.

 I chose the Outside in Stitched Mug by Lawn Fawn.

I know that several people are going to use this die.

My style is to make a mini shaped note card.

I die cut out my card by using Soft Navy Card Stock by Simon Says Stamp.

I also die cut out a top layer out of white card stock.

This is the layer that I stamped on

the “Big Thanks Autumn” stamp set by Simon Says Stamp

To color my card, I used my Spectrum Noir Classique markers.

I am still learning how to use my markers, so my coloring is still a little shaky.

Final I took a huge risk and stamped on sentiment and

embossed it with white embossing powder.

Inky Paws Challenge - Favorite Newton's Nook Stamp

Ok this one is tricky!

Choosing my favorite Newton’s Nook Stamp is

like choosing which one of my kids I like best!

After some severe soul searching with my Newton Nook Stamps,

 I decided on Naughty Newton.

Many years ago, I was looking for a cat stamp that

 represented how my cats acted.

Naught Newton became the first stamp 

set I purchased from Newton’s Nook Designs.

This stamp also started me on my way to being a card designer.

Check out my card featuring Naughty Newton.

For the base of the card I chose the scalloped edge from

The Frames Squared Die.

I wanted to give this card a garden feel.

So, I chose the Dainty Daisies Stamp and Die to be the background stamp.

I kept the colors bright and cheerful and the design simple.

Now it is your turn!

 I must say that I am totally excited to see what

Thinking of You - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

 

Here at the

This week we are THINKING ABOUT YOU

Featuring Products by TIM HOLTZ

You do not have to use the featured company to join in.

If you have some of their product in your stash,

we would LOVE to see them used.

Here are the products I used for this challenge.

I also used a few items from my stash.

Here is my take on the challenge.

 I stared my card by pulling out some of my go to items

Memory Box Rectangle Basic Set

and

Stitched Rectangles by Simon Says Stamp

These dies along with some kraft and white card stock from

my stash makes the perfect background for my funky flowers.

To create the flowers, I started by limiting myself to JUST FOUR

Distress colors, Fossilized Amber, Crackling Campfire, Mowed Lawn,

and Brushed Corduroy. I die cut out all my flowers with

 #110 cardstock, and the Funky Floral Large Thinlits Dies.

Then I grabbed my dauber and just started pouncing my color on.

As you can see, I had a good inky time with these flowers.

Next, I chose a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Thinking of You Sentiment Strips.

I am so glad that I got a set of these sentiment strips,

 they were a quick and easy solution to help finish this card.

With the sentiment in place I turned my attention to assembling my flowers

 and adding them to the front of my card.

I tried to keep the colors as balanced as I could.

 I did prop up one of the flowers with foam tape for a little dimension.

I also kept the top of the leaves loose so that there

 is some movement when you pick up the card.

 

That completes my take on THINKING OF YOU

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 - Simon Says Stamp

 

So happy to be a part of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags

We are on DAY 2 featuring Simon Says Stamp.

Check out my tag featuring the CZ Design Simple Ho Wafer Die

 by Simon Says Stamp

 

A handmade tag adds that extra special personal touch to a gift.

the base of my tag is created using the Tim Holtz Thinlits Stacking Tags

but you can used whatever you have in your stash.

I was in an experimental mood, so I chose my colors of cardstock

and die cut tags and the “HO” Die from each color.

Then I started layering all the pieces up, moving the colors

around until I found just the right color combo.

This method created quite a mess on the desk, but it was a lot of fun just to “Create”

I hope my tag inspires you to mess up your desk have a good time.

Inky Paws Challenge - Sketch Challenge

 

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

 

Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this card.

When I am not sure what I want to do, I always fall back on making a shaped card.

It will most likely be round because I love anything round.

Inspired by all the falling leaves around me, 

I knew that wanted to use The Autumn Leaves Die Set

But how to put it all together?

I started die cutting A BUNCH of leaves with some off-white card stock.

What goes good with off-white card stock… Kraft Card Stock.

Kraft card stock became the base of the card.

I absolutely love the Circle Frames Dies.

I die cut out the Scalloped Circle and started layering the leaves on to that.

Once the leaves were all glued down, I turned my attention to creating the banner.

Using the Land Borders Die Set I die cut off my 1^st section of my banner.

Check out the picture below to see how I cut

the second piece of the banner so that they fit together.

For my final touches I stamped out my image from the Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set.

I colored her in with my alcohol markers.

I also used a sentiment from the Fall Roundabout Stamp Set

  that I carefully stamped onto my banner.

Anything Goes - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

 With Halloween right around the corner, why not create one more Halloween card.

This one features the Frightful Gift Clear Stamp by Stampendous.

I love a shaped card, so I decided to use my

Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles Dies and

 Simon Says Stamp Black Black8 cardstock for the base of this card.

I used the Creepy Confections 6x6 paper by My Favorite Things and

the Circle Frames Die by Newton’s Nook Designs to create background color.

When stamping out my images I realized I needed

 a bit longer arms on my monsters then the stamp set provided,

so, I extended out the arms a bit with a black Sharpie.

I colored my images in using Spectrum Noir Classique Markers

Finally, I stamped my sentiment and added everything to the front of the card base.

That completes my take on ANYTHING GOES

Inky Paws Challenge - Sketch Challenge

 

Hello Inky Paws Fans! 

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

It is time for a sketch challenge!

Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this card.

Halloween is right around the corner.

Perfect time to use my Newton’s Costume Party Stamp Set.

No Halloween Colors for this card.

Bold Pastels from my collection of Spectrum Noir Classique Markers

makes this card stand out.

I decided to use black on this card as much as I could to make the colors pop.

The base of this card is made from the Large Scalloped Rectangle

from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

The stripes on my card were created by cutting ½ inch strips of paper

 and coloring them in with the same marker colors that I used in my Trick or Treaters.

The sentiment circle is part of the 

Circle Frames Die.

When I started this card, I was not sure where it was going,

 but I do LOVE how this card turned out.
