Inky Paw's Challenge 196 - Birthday Theme

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

 Summer Scoops

NEW Quatrefoil Stencil

Frames and Flags Die Set

 Hello everyone!

Here with you today to share a card for the start of our newest Inky Paw’s Challenge.

I started with the background for this card with a 5x8 piece of white cardstock

I taped the Quatrefoil Stencil to half of sheet. (4 inches)

Using some of my favorite Distress Ink colors, I inked up the stencil.

After removing the stencil and letting the ink dry, I lined up the stencil

to the upper black half of the cardstock. I used a rubber mat and ran

the stencil and paper through my die cutting machine.

This created the cutest embossed top with an inked up lower half.

(of course I forgot to take a picture when creating this)

Centering the die on the two different sides I cut out the front of my card.

My stamped images on this card are from the Summer Scoops Stamp Set.

I colored in my images using colors that match the

background with pops of green, purple and red.

To assemble the card, I die cut a banner from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

I stamped on a sentiment and added a bit of gray around the edge.

I placed the sentiment banner on the card front first.

Then, I placed the other stamped images around the banner with foam tape.

To finish this card. I used the large, scalloped rectangle

from Frames and Flags Die and created a card base.

I also used my Shimmer pen on the images to add

interest when the card catches the light.

This completes my take on this challenge.

I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration for your next project.

Inky Paws Challenge 177 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Using the challenge sketch, I came up with this card.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Summer Scoops Stamp Set

 Frames Squared Die Set

Circle Frames Die Set

A7 Frames and Banners

Summertime 6x6 Paper Pad

I just LOVE the Summer Scoops Stamp Set!

This vintage set is a perfect paring for the NEW Sumertime paper pad.

Disclaimer: this is not a standard card size

The first thing I did was chose my paper from the summertime paper pad.

I decided on the stripes and blue dots for the background.

I cut the card stock down to a 3 x  5½ long rectangle.

Using a ruler, I drew a line from the upper left corner down.

I used my paper trimer to take of the corner to make an angle.

Next, using white cardstock I created a 4 x 6 ¼ cardstock front.

I also created a card base of the same dimensions.

To create all the elements of the card:

I stamped and colored my ice cream of choice from the Summer Scoops Stamp Set.

I die cut out the Fancy square from the Frames Squared die set.

A circle from pink cardstock and the Circle Frames Die came next.

Finally, the smallest banner from the A7 Frames and Banner Die Set.

To assemble the card:

I cut out a corner triangle out of the blue polka dot paper and

pieced this on the right corner of my card base.

Once this was glued in place, I bent the corner down on my card front

and glued it in place on my card base.

I made sure that the folder corner was nice and creased so you could see the cardstock behind it.

The striped paper was glued in place next.

Then I placed my elements on one at a time, adding foam tape when necessary.

At this point is when I realized that I forgot to add my sentiment.

I carefully stamped this on next to the ice creams on the front.

For a finishing touch, I added on gems and shimmer pen.

I hope this inspires you to try out this fun challenge.

Inky Paw's Challenge 150 - Sketch Challenge

 Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

What an awesome sketch we have for you to work with.

Here is my take on the challenge.

It is blazing HOT in Texas right now.

I came up with an idea to create a card that was like the rainbow sherbet I loved as a kid.

It all starts with the background.

I used Lemon Chiffon cardstock and the Large Scalloped Rectangle

from the Frames and Flags Die Set.

To create the element in the back I used the curved edge rectangle from

the same die set and white card stock.

I love texture in my cards, using the Petite Snow Stencil and Versamark Ink

I stenciled on my little snowy dots and then heat embossed everything with clear embossing powder.

Texture achieved!

I used the Large Banner from the same die set to create another element in the background.

This time I used some Raspberry card stock and the little do-dad stamps

that are in the Summer Scoops Stamp Set.

I did trim this banner down a bit to fit the style of the sketch.

Speaking of the Summer Scoops Stamp Set, that is my featured stamp set.

This is A Newton’s Nook Classic and one of my favorites.

I used bright citrusy colors to stand out on the front of my card.

To finish off this card I created a sentiment created from one of the Speech Bubble Dies.

I did trim down the die to fit the size I needed and rounded off the corners.

I also added a bit of sparkle with matching Stickles

What's the scoop? IPC 101

Happy Monday!
Welcome to a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!
I hope everyone had a great time playing along with challenge 100!
This time we have a color challenge.

What is Red, Pink, Lime Green and Brown
ICE CREAM!
What's the scoop? a card by Diane Morales - Summer Scoops Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs.

It has been blazing hot in Texas, and ice cream has been on my mind constantly.
The Summer Scoops Stamp Set is the perfect for this card.
Coloring should never be stressful, so I just had fun coloring MY ice cream.
I challenged myself to use ONLY the challenge colors on this card.
This made color placement very interesting.
I ended mapping my colors out a couple of times before
I had the color story I was looking for.

Once all the ice cream was colored in, I turned my attention to the background.
This was created using the Bokeh Stencil and Twisted Citron Distress Ink.

I keep adding ink to circles and stencil till I got the correct color match to my ice cream.
Keeping with the circle theme, I stamped my sentiment on a circle of white cardstock.
I hope you enjoyed my take on our challenge theme.
Now it is your turn, use the link in the challenge picture above
To show us your creations.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a lovely week.

What's the Scoop! IPC 77

Hello everybody!
We are halfway through the current Inky Paws Challenge.
Checkout this sketch challenge!

Since it is still blazing hot here in California, I decided to cool down with a treat.

What's the Scoop! a card by Diane Morales| Summer Scoops Stamp Set by Newton Nook Designs

In case you weren't aware the Summer Scoops Stamp Set now has coordinating dies.
I was so excited when I found out about this, I really love the stamp set.
For my inspiration I chose to stay within sherbet ice cream colors.
Just a clean and simple idea to match the sketch.

The background for this card is Bubblegum Pink and Funky Fuchsia
Dylusions Ink Spray that is spritzed onto white cardstock paper.
When that was dry, I used some old Spellbinder Dies that I had in my stash
and just created multiple layers with white cardstock on the bottom.
I then grabbed my stamp set and stamped out
the sundae and colored that staying with sherbet colors.
When I preassembled the card, I decided that all that white background
was just a little too plain, this was quickly fixed creating a background
using Versamark Ink and Tumbling Heart Stencil and clear embossing powder.
With that white background looking much better I just assembled my card layers.

The background element of the sketch I chose to put my sentiment, using white cardstock
and one of the smaller stamps from the set, that is Versamark stamped
and heat set with clear embossing powder.
On top of that I added my Sundae on with a double layer of foam tape.

Now it is your turn! Show us how you get your PAWS INKY by linking up using
the inspiration picture above and don’t forget
to check all the other projects from the other designers on the team.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs
Diane
