Backround Stash and IPC 113

Happy Holiday Everyone!

Here is our current challenge.

For my last project for 2019, I came up with this card.

I love to create!

But

when you create a lot sometimes you run out of ideas.

That is where the background stash comes in.

When I’m in a crafty rut, I create backgrounds to wake up my creativity.

I keep them in a little box in my scrap drawer.

I have had some of them for years, just waiting there ready to inspire me

That is how the background for this card began.

I was struggling with coming up with a card using the challenge colors.

I went thru the stash and found this background with teal and texture.

I could not tell you when I created it, or how I made it, 

I just knew that it was going to work for the challenge

I loved the teal and texture, but to add that little bit of extra,

I stenciled balloons on the top

 the BALLOONS STENCIL and Distress Oxide Salty Ocean 

was the perfect touch to make the background POP.

Since New Year’s is knocking on the door, you just must use

 NEWTON’S NEW YEAR

Newton popping bottles what a fun idea for the last card of the year!

My sentiment is stamped on a banner from the

FRAMES AND FLAGS DIE SET

To add the silver sparkle, I stamped in champagne bubbles with silver ink.

That is all I have for this year.

Can’t wait to see what 2020 brings.

Newton's Snowman IPC 113

Happy Monday!

Today is the start of a NEW

 INKY PAWS CHALLENGE!

 With THREE weeks for you to play along.

To end the year, we have a COLOR challenge for you!

With Christmas right around the corner,

 I came up with

a quick and easy tag using the challenge colors.

I stared by die cutting out a basic tag shape.

I  lightly sprayed Peacock Feather and Twisted Citron Distress Ink on my craft mat.

 Then smashed my tag shape on the ink to create my background.

While the tag was drying, I colored my kitty and snowman from

NEWTON’S CURIOUS CHRISTMAS.

I used the challenge colors and a pop of red and orange on the bird 

and snowman to add some interest.

With the tag now dry, I stamped my sentiment from the

SNOWGLOBE SCENES STAMP SET.

At the bottom of my tag

I die cut out my stamped image and attached it to my tag with foam tape.

To add the silver part of the challenge colors,

 I glued on some silver snowflakes from my stash.

So simple to make, this tag took my maybe a half hour to do.

Snow Day Fun IPC 112

We still have one more week for the current 

INKY PAWS CHALLENGE!

What a fun challenge it is!

Using NEWTON’S TOBOGGAN STAMP SET,

 I came up with this fun card!

Newton and his friends are having a blast sledding down the snowy hill

 that was created by cutting white cardstock at an angle.

To add a little whimsy, I created fun and unique background

using the ARGYLE STENCIL SET and Distress Oxide Ink in two colors.

For a finishing touch I added

the snowflakes and sentiment

 from the NEWTON’S TOBOGGAN STAMP SET

Who’s ready for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!

Yes folks, create some snowy fun!

Check out my project!

It all started one evening when I was up in my crafty space.

I was messing around with the Evergreens Stencil.

 Just using scraps of leftover paper and color plucking whatever ink

 I grabbed from the ink drawer.

I ended up choosing a gray scrap and

Black Soot Distress Ink.

I inked out the trees and loved it.

Then I got an idea to make it even more awesome!

I made a quick mask for the trees.

Using the Petite Snow Stencil and Simon Says Stamp 

White Pigment Ink, I stenciled on some stars in the background.

The Penguin Pile Stamp set is my featured image.

Muted wintery colors are what I chose to color in my

 penguins with in keeping with the snow theme.

My sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set.

This is embossed onto the front of my card

with white embossing power.

Using the Mountains Stencil, I turned the stencil upside down 

and using the same pigment inks as before.

 This created the snow drifts at the penguin’s feet.

I had an awesome time creating this project!

My favorite part is the use of

 unconventional colors for a holiday card.

All by accident!

Deck the Halls IPC 111

Welcome to the second half of the Inky Paws Challenge.

Using the challenge sketch

I came up with this fun holiday tag!

A combo of printed, white cardstock, and circle die from my stash to create the base of my tag.

The ORNAMENT SHAKER DIE is my choice for this tag.

Red cardstock and a fun sentiment from the

ORNAMENTAL WISHES STAMP SET 

make my tag ready for the holidays.

For a touch of green, I used the Autumn Leaves Die Set

A tag would not be complete without the small banner from 

the FRAME AND FLAGS DIE SET.

What a fun challenge this is!

Santa Village Tag IPC 111

Time for a NEW Inky Paws Challenge!

Check out this amazing sketch!

After staring at the sketch for a little bit

I came up with this tag!

I started the base of my tag by using a

 combo of printed paper and ivory cardstock and the

FRAMES SQUARED DIE SET

On top of that I used some circle dies from my stash

 and the Village and Santa from the

SNOW GLOBE SCENES STAMP SET.

I used a flag from our favorite die set

 FRAMES AND FLAG DIE SET

to create the across element of the sketch.

This sketch is a fun one!

Hogs and Kisses IPC 110

We are at the halfway point of the current

INKY PAWS CHALLENGE!

Here are the challenge colors.

As you can see,

no holiday card by me!

I just wanted to have fun with the colors.

 because pigs are pink, I chose the

OINK STAMP SET.

everything else fell into place.

 I used the TUMBLING HEARTS STENCIL

 to create the white hearts on my teal background.

The green is my grassy hills using the

LAND BOARDERS DIE SET.

I attached all of this on the

Large Scalloped Rectangle from the

FRAME AND FLAGS DIE SET.

I hope this inspires you to break out your favorite

Newtons Nook Stamp Set

and craft up something fun.

Merry and Bright IPC 110

Today starts a New Inky Paws Challenge!

Check out the amazing colors we have for you!

Using the NEW HOLIDAY FRINGE STAMP SET

I came up with this fun shaky card.

I used Sharpies to keep things bright and cheerful and added in the orange 

and yellow colors to make the challenge colors pop.

The hardest part was to decide where the colors would go.

The FRAMES SQUARED DIE created the base for my shaky.

I used a heart shaped die from my stash to create

the cutout for my shaky.

I created my own smaller sentiment banner from the

Small banner in the FRAMES AND FLAGS DIE SET.

First, die cutting out the banner ON THE EDGE of a piece of cardstock.

Second, insert the die cut piece back in the die in reverse.

line it up to the size you want.

Third, die cut out

 I hope this inspires you to use the challenge colors

Boo HOO IPC 109

We are at the halfway point of the current Inky Paw’s Challenge!

Check out this challenge!

I love this time of year.

It’s time to transition from the spooky good fun of Halloween

 to the milder Thanksgiving holiday.

I used the BOO HOO STAMP SET and created this fun card.

I am totally into Distress Ink 

on a background.

I blended in these three colors, 

Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean,

and Tumbled Glass to create the background.

On top of the background, I used the CASCADING STARS STENCIL and these items.

I smeared the Texture Gloss on top of the stencil.

After scraping of the extra gloss off, 

I sprinkled

 Ranger Holographic Powder on top of that.

Remove the stencil, but

DO NOT HEAT SET!

Just let everything dry.

The results are AMAZING!

Texture and sparkle!

Adding a finishing touch, I used the

FENCE DIE SET

and the LAND BOARDERS DIE SET

to create the grass in front of my fence.

What a fun challenge!
