Broom and Boos for October

Hello Newton’s Nook Fans!

It is my birthday month!

and ....

I have a fun birthday card to share with you using the Halloween Time Paper Pad.

I just love the sheet of paper with the eyeballs.

The perfect match for this paper is the Brooms and Boos Stamp set!

I started out with a gray card base.

Next, a two-inch strip of eyeball paper was glued onto the card front.

Coloring my image was next.

I am not the best at coloring so kept things simple

by using the colors on the eyeball paper as a guide.

I used a shimmer pen to add some bling to the “liquid” of the martini.

The stitched oval from the Oval Frames Die Set makes a great feature area

for my sentiment and image.

I simply attached to the oval to the front of the card and then my image on top with foam tape,

Finally, I used the stars in the stamp set to add interest

in the blank corners of my card and by the sentiment.

As always, a bit of bling with tiny green gems completes this card.

Stay crafty my friends!

Inky Paw's Challenge 157 - Halloween Theme

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this challenge I used the following product.

Brooms and Boo’s Stamp Set

Serene Stripes Stencil

Frames and Flags Die Set

I want to be complicated on my cards but, I really don’t think that is my style.

I love a lot of white space. I LOVE color.

I am learning to embrace there things.

To start this card, I used the Curved Edge Rectangle from

the Frames and Flags Die Set die cut out in white card stock.

The color combo of choice for this card is

Cracked Pistachio and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide.

Using the Serene Stripes Stencil, I inked up only the lower left corner of my card front.

Next, I stamp and colored in my images from the Brooms and Boo’s Stamp Set.

I like to stage everything on my card front with blue tape so that

I can get the placement of my sentiment correct.

Once my sentiment was on my card, I finished card by adding the witch, bats,

and moon to the card front with foam tape.

To finish my card, I created a card base with the same Curved Edge Rectangle

die to produce a shaped card.

This completes my take on our theme challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge theme and show us your take.

Inky Paw's Challenge 156 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge.

In keeping with the Halloween theme, I have a fun shaped card

using some uncommon Halloween colors.

I am in love with the way that the background on the card turned out.

I used gray cardstock and the Flying Bats Stencil.

My ink of choice is Black Soot Distress Oxide.

Since you are using black ink, my suggestion would to be to

use a bit of Pixie Spray on the back side of the stencil.

This will keep the black in from bleeding and give you a crisp stenciled image.

Once the background is set aside to dry, I turned my attention to the

images from the Brooms and Boos Stamp Set.

I stamped out and die cut the bats.

I also stamped and die cut one of the witches.

I love the look of pink and black for Halloween.

I chose several different pink markers and started coloring.

Finally, I was ready to assemble the card.

Using the Rounded Edge Rectangle from the Frames and Flags Die Set

I created a card front using the batty background I created.

I also created a base for my images to set using black cardstock.

I layered on my witch and bats on the front of the card with foam tape.

It was at this point that I decided this card needed a little bit more.

Thumbing through my Newton Stamp Sets looking for pumpkins I went.

I ended using pumpkins from Paw-tumn Newton and Harvest Tails Stamp Sets.

I added in a splash of color by using traditional orange on a couple if the pumpkins.

To finish the card, I carefully stamp on a sentiment over my bats and created a

card base using a similar rounded edge die from my Sizzix stash.

This completes my take on our sketch challenge.

Now it is your turn.

Take the challenge theme and show us your take.
