Let Love Bloom

Hello and Welcome

I cannot believe that it is February already.

I have a fun and versatile card to share with you today.

This card could be Valentine with a change in the sentiment.

Or just leave the sentiment as is to create a fun friendship card with LOTS of love!

For this card I used

Birdhouse Greetings

Love and Meow’s 6x6 Paper Pad

Oval Frames Die Set.

Heartfelt Roses (sentiment at the bottom)

To start this card, I used the envelope background paper from

the Love and Meow’s 6x6 Paper Pad.

I cut a 3 ½ x 5 ½ slice of the paper, I wanted the card front to be slim

and long to fit the dimensions of the stamp I was using.

To add a bit of color I used my Prawn (R24) Copic marker and

added a red edge all around the cut edge of the paper.

I created a card base out of white card stock to fit the card front card front

I just created and glued the two pieces together.

While the card base was drying, I stamped out the image that I wanted to use.

I decided on the heat shape topiary and birdhouse from Birdhouse Greetings.

I colored my image with Copic markers in bright colors to stand out against the background

I also used the Oval Frames Die Set and die cut an oval out of velum.

To attach my image to the card, I used foam tape and attached the image to the velum first.

I hid my glue behind my stamped image and glued everything to the front of the card.

Using foam tape, I glued on a couple extra purple butterflies.

To finish this card, I stamped a sentiment from Heartfelt Roses onto red card stock.

This is heat embossed with white embossing powder.

After banner cutting both edges, I attached the sentiment to the front with foam tape.

I hope that you enjoyed my card and I hope that you try out a card like this for fun.

Have an awesome day

Stay crafty my friends!

Inky Paw's Challenge 189 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

The FIRST challenge of 2023!!!

Here is my take on the challenge.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Franken-Newton

Heart Frames Die Set

Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad

AND

A bit of paper from

Meowy Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad

To start this card, I stared with an A7 card base made with red cardstock.

I cut down a piece of the heart paper from the Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad.

This became my card front.

A 1 ¾ leftover piece of the blue striped cardstock from

Meowy Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad that I glued down on top of the hearts.

Next comes a one-inch strip of the multi color hearts paper, that I cut into a banner edge.

Finally, a ¾ inch of red striped paper that I also cut a banner edge and glued on with foam tape.

Now that I have all the elements, on to the heart.

I used the scalloped heart from Heart Frames Die Set.

I used white cardstock to help my image stand out among all the color in the background.

My stamp set of choice is Franken-Newton.

Yes! This is a Halloween set, but it is just TOO CUTE to use once a year.

I stamped, colored, and die cut my image from the stamp set and added that to the heart.

I also stamped on a sentiment and added a couple of extra hearts.

This completes my take on this challenge.

I Hope this gives you a bit of inspiration for your next project.

Inky Paw's Challenge 179 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We have a NEW challenge coming your way.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Flamingo Oval

Oval Frames Die Set

Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad

Using the challenge colors, I produced this card.

This was a super fun card to make!

I knew that I wanted to make a shaped card so, I went thumbing through my Newton’s Nook paper

and settled on a sheet of gray hearts from the Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad.

This will be my card front. I also created a card base using the Oval Frames Die Set and gray cardstock.

Next, I stamped and colored the image from the Flamingo Oval.

I also stamped in a sentiment on the front.

To make my image extra tropical I chose to use a couple of unusual color greens in the background.

With all my components ready, I could now assemble my card.

Using scalloped Oval from the Oval Frames Die Set,

I die cut out the flamingo’s and two extra pieces of cardstock.

These pieces are glues together to make the card front.

I die cut out the printed paper and glued that on to the front of the card.

I then added my flamingo card front.

To finish my card, I added detail with a gel pen and finished off

with by washing over my image with a sparkle pen.

This includes my take on this challenge.

Inky Paw's Challenge 176 - Color Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Using the challenge colors, I came up with this card.

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Newton’s 4th of July

Frames and Flags Die Set

Circle Frames Die Set

Coffee House Stories 6x6 Paper Pad

Love and Meow’s 6x6 Paper Pad

To start this card, I rummaged thru my Newton Paper Packs and went looking for paper

that would match the challenge colors. For the background I found a light blue striped.

I also found a red polka dot paper that I will also be using on the card.

The light blue stripes I die cut out using the Frames and Flags Die Set.

This would start my card front.

The red polka dots paper I die cut out with the 3 ¼ circle from the Circle Frames Die.

Next, I stamped and colored my image from Newton’s 4th of July.

When coloring the rocket, I matched the colors to the striped paper and

used a much of the challenge colors that I could.

I went into my die stash and found a die circle that was slightly smaller that the polka dot paper one.

After I die cut this out using white cardstock, I stamped on some of the

fireworks from the stamp set and embossed them with Holographic embossing powder.

To assemble the card, I created a card base with dark blue card stock.

I glued my stripped paper on top of that. To make my card front.

I glued my die cut circles together and add newton on top with foam tape.

After I added this to the front of my card, I stamped on a sentiment

and added on a couple of the stars from the stamp set.

I hope this inspires you to try out this fun challenge.

Inky Paw's Challenge 171 - Sketch Challenge

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Check out this fun Sketch!

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

(NEW) Tulips

(NEW) Oval Frames Die

(NEW) Springtime 6X6 Paper Pad

Frames and Flags Die Set

Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad

This sketch certainly inspires you to layer things up.

I am loving the Springtime 6X6 Paper Pad and used it in this challenge as well.

I also used my all-time favorite die set, Frames and Flags Die Set.

I stared this card with the Tulips Stamp Set.

I stamped and colored the tulip and die cut them out.

Now it was all about deciding the placement of the paper.

One of the sheets in the Springtime 6X6 Paper Pad has tulips on it.

So, this was an obvious choice.

The reverse paper was a lovely green stripe.

The oval frames die was used as well as the Curved Edge Rectangle.

I also die cut out the large Scalloped Rectangle out of white cardstock.

I created a standard card base and to that I added the

red polka dotted paper from Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad.

I love the contrast of all the papers together

Next came the striped paper and the tulip paper.

A banner with a sentiment came next.

Finally, the tulips die cut that I popped up with foam tape.

A couple enamel dots to add some flair and this card

 is done.

And that completes my take on this challenge

Now it is your turn!

Inky Paw's Chllenge 156 - Heart Theme

Hello Inky Paws Fans!

We are at the halfway point of this current challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge!

For this challenge I used the following Newton’s Nook Design’s product.

Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad

Circle Frames Die

Heart Frames Die

A7 Frames and Banner Die

Love Bites Stamp Set (sentiment)

Everyone knows I love a shaped card.

This card starts with a card base created with the Circle Frames Die and red cardstock.

Next, I layered on a circle die cut of white cardstock.

Another layer of heart cardstock from the Love and Meows 6x6 Paper Pad.

Now to the fun part, I die cut out hearts using the Heart Frames Die

and started to layer them across the front of the card.

I also used the heart in the Circle Frames Die Set.

I wanted a lot of dimensions on the card, so I popped up the hearts in various heights.

For the large white heart, I cover this in white shimmer paint.

Once the heart placement was decided, I created a banner and sentiment for the front.

Tiny foam hearts add that final touch of color for this card.

That completes my take on this challenge.

Now it is your turn!
